I've been playing and following the Fallout series since playing the demo for the first game in early/mid 1997 and then not long after buying this game in the store with garage sale money. With all of that nostalgia out of the way, does Fallout still hold up almost 30 years later? Yes. The UI is dated, but it's fine, some things are annoying (getting trapped by your party members), not all of the skills are useful regardless of play style, and yeah almost everything is "dated." But it has the perfect length for an RPG (I've beat it over 50+ times pre-steam, most of which were diplomat/stealth speed runs) and the story/writing is top notch. Is it the best in the series? Being controversial here: YES, and if you never played it, do it. (F>NV>F2>Tactics>F4>>>F3)

After growing playing Fallout 3, 4, 76, I fell in love with the Fallout series. But after watching the show and playing New Vegas so much that my save file crashed I decided to look further into where it all began. Hearing about how much the series was retconned and changed I wanted to know what the original series depicted, and what it was like to truly struggle in the wastes. I've barely started but already I'm beginning to understand what the Fallout really was, and what it intended to be. The game though difficult becomes really fun once you get the hang of things. It still holds up in its old graphics and overall sound design. From the many encounters you stumble upon to the echoes of a dead civilization it does a great job at environmental storytelling. It's definitely worth the experience, and I hope more people look back upon this game when thinking about the franchise. I've only just reached the hub and I'm already having a blast in more ways then one. So yeah, good gameplay, good storytelling, good everything, definitely recommend.

就是缺少引导。跟着攻略走的。自己玩的话太容易蒙圈。第一遍通关后感觉挺不错的。但是因为流程过长，就了解了一下其他派玩法，不准备再玩多次了。

Back when "War, war never changes" wasn't associated with a company, that re-releases their RPG's for the umpteenth ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time and got mogged by a smaller one, whose spin-off became one of the best in the series.
