Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.57/day in the week to Jul 30 → 3.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 8: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I started my Fallout journey with Fallout: New Vegas, then went back and played Fallout 3. While I was waiting for Fallout 4 to release, I decided to see where the series began and picked up Fallout and Fallout 2. I'm really glad I did. The original Fallout is still one of the best examples of a true post-apocalyptic RPG. The atmosphere is bleak, lonely, and dangerous in a way that later games capture differently. Every town feels like it's barely surviving, every bullet matters, and the wasteland genuinely feels unforgiving. Even with its age, the writing, world-building, and player choice are outstanding. Your decisions have weight, and there are multiple ways to solve many quests. It feels like the foundation that every Fallout game was built on. If you're coming from the modern Fallout games, the turn-based combat and older interface take some getting used to, but once they click, it's incredibly rewarding. This game embodies what I think of as the classic Fallout theme: a harsh, desperate world where hope still exists, but survival is never guaranteed. If you're a Fallout fan and have never played the original, I can't recommend it enough. It isn't just an old game—it's a fantastic RPG that still holds up and shows why this series became so beloved.
Pick this and Fallout 2 up, and download the "Fallout Et Tu" mod. Makes the experience 100% better. Avoid Fallout Fixt.
My favorite Fallout <3
the real rpg
* Leave Vault 13 for waterchip → Immediately loot the dead guy outside for a free gun. * Kill every rat I can find → Peak RPG optimization. * Reach Shady Sands → Somehow become everyone's problem solver despite being a complete stranger. * Vault 15 → Use rope, explore the ruins... no water chip. Oh. * Tandy gets kidnapped → Diplomacy is an option. I chose mass homicide. * Junktown → Meet Gizmo. * Meet Killian → This man looks like he bench-presses deathclaws. Easy choice. * Bug Gizmo's office → Catch him red-handed. * Kick the door in with Killian → Collect reward. Justice served. * The Hub → "This place is way too big." * Start doing jobs for Decker → Realize I'm working for the mafia. * Get bored → Rat Decker out to the cops. * Fight Decker → Hardest fight in the game... at that point. Took me about five attempts. * Borrow 1000 caps from the loan shark → Decide repayment is optional. * Brotherhood of Steel → Nice bunker. * Steal an electronic lockpick from the Hub's underground weirdos → Skip the Brotherhood initiation entirely. * Do the initiation quest later anyway → XP is XP. * Find Kyle's broken Power Armor → Repair skill finally pays off. * Steal the missing part from another Brotherhood paladins locker → "Borrowed" with no intention of returning it. * Get Power Armor way earlier than intended → The wasteland suddenly becomes much less threatening. * Mariposa Military Base → Dress up as a Child of the Cathedral and somehow nobody questions it. * Blow the base sky-high from the inside → Mission accomplished. * Random encounter → A blue TARDIS appears... then vanishes. * Doctor Who reference → what?? * Meet the Master → Tell him his master plan literally cannot work. * The Master → Has an existential crisis and solves the problem for me. * Return to Vault 13 → Save everyone. * The Overseer → "Thanks for saving us. Now get out." * Become too much of a legend for my own home → Apparently that's a firing offense. * Watch the ending slides → Discover that my decisions actually mattered. * 23.2 hours later → One of the best RPGs I've ever played. * Fallout 2 → See you in New Reno.
