Just don't buy this dlc there is a bug in the beginning section that will soft lock you before you even get access to the open world of the this expansion where if you aren't proficient at moding a Bethesda games the only way to fix is to use the console to progress.
Man this one is the definition of 'mixed bag'. The actual nuka cola area is mostly pretty fun but midway through they decide they're going to force you to interact with the jankass settlement mechanic which is an absolute slog. Also if you were hoping for any kind of intrigue between the factions, well guess what - there's absolutely none! Also some serious bugs - the arcade reward terminal kept bugging out on me and I never got it to work. Also found a bunch of typos in text in quick succession - made me feel like I was playing a Dark Mod mod or something. Get this one on sale
Okay I did like exploring this area, it was actually interesting to me. Some of the weapons and power armor that you could get made it worth me playing it through once. I also liked the idea of creating unique Nuka Cola variants which was cool. Now I'm not so sure that I liked the story behind it where you are helping raiders take over the Nuka world. If it was just taking over the Nuka world itself then I would've been ok with it at least. The fact that I had to help the raiders expand into the commonwealth made me not like this so much that was the worst part of it for me. Now it was also just anti climatic at the end when one of the factions would obviously betray you and you just wipe them out. If I didn't have to help the raiders expand into the commonwealth then I would go through the story again. But if I ever play this DLC again then it's only far enough to get the guns and power armor and that's it. I won't finish the story that's for sure. I'd only recommend this to give it a try and to get some of the stuff from it.
