FEAR 3 is, honestly, a pretty mid game. It plays like a generic shooter with a bullet-time mechanic and that’s probably the main reason it received mostly positive reviews. While it features major graphical enhancements over the earlier titles, the campaign drags on too long and lacks memorable set pieces. Fans were expecting more from a sequel to such a respected horror series, but to be fair, there wasn’t much room left to expand on what FEAR 1 already did so well. What else could they have added, more jump scares? The biggest changes come in the gameplay and combat. You’re now limited to carrying only two weapons, and accuracy drops heavily unless you use iron sights. The classic health bar, med kits, and armor system are gone, replaced by a regenerating health mechanic where the screen turns red when you take damage and you need to take cover to heal. These changes make the game feel more like a conventional modern shooter rather than the distinctive tactical horror experience that FEAR was known for. Unfortunately, the weapons themselves are fairly average, and the heavy focus on cover-based combat defines most encounters. Level layouts are designed entirely around this system, making the arenas feel very different and far less dynamic compared to FEAR 1 and 2. If you’re a first-person shooter fan, you might still find FEAR 3 decent. But the issue is that there are already plenty of shooters like this, and many of them do the same things better. That’s ultimately why FEAR 3 couldn’t find its audience. It isn’t a terrible game by any means, but it’s not something special either. People expected something spectacular from this series, and this just didn’t deliver.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

As far this series goes it goes in a wrong direction. TLTR I like it more than FEAR 2 but it's still not as good as 1st game. STORY The most annoying part is that DLC REBORN to 2nd game is not a canon. And I don't like when in next instantment of franchies you
kill main character from previous game
(Like in the end of RESISTANCE 2) VISUALS It's looks ok. I think art direction is overall better than in 2nd game. But low resolution texturs are the real fear factor in this game. C'mon, this game is from 2011, same year as CRYSIS 2, Batman: Arkham City and The Witcher 2. GAMEPLAY AI is better than in 2nd game but not too much. There is a limit weapon set to 2. Why??? I don't know what to think about leveling system that was add in 3rd game. In one hand it's cool that you make some progresion besides story, but in other hand you start with low ammo and grenade capacity. There is a replayability. When you finish a chapter you can play it agan as Paxton Fettel(he has his own gameplay style). It's sucks that developers stick to the ALMA's story. There was huge potential. You play as F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon) unit, an elite group in the United States Army tasked with investigating supernatural phenomena. You can expand this univers with other supernatural activities aroun the worl, but nah... we stick to one little girl :(
