Shovelware Attack on Titan
Extinction portrays a desperate struggle for survival where humanity faces total annihilation at the hands of colossal ogre-like invaders known as the Ravenni. This ambitious premise initially suggests a thrilling experience of high-stakes heroism, yet the execution fails to maintain this intensity beyond the opening few hours of play. Traversing the environment represents the title's most successful element, as the sentinel protagonist moves with impressive speed across the rooftops. These fluid movement mechanics offer a brief sense of joy before the monotonous reality of the mission structure begins to erode any lingering enthusiasm for the game's expansive scale. Mission objectives unfortunately suffer from a severe lack of variety, often forcing players to engage in identical tasks throughout the entire campaign. Every sortie revolves around rescuing civilians and fending off the same predictable threats, which creates a stiflingly formulaic rhythm that completely drains the excitement from the central narrative. Resource management serves as the primary source of mechanical friction, specifically regarding the vital rune energy required for executing lethal strikes. Executions drain this reserve entirely, leaving the player vulnerable while struggling to gather more power, a design choice that makes defending cities feel like an exercise in futility. Combat sequences frequently descend into chaotic frustration because the precision required for complex encounters is sorely missing from the final product. Constant, unhelpful audio prompts from Xandra incessantly repeat warnings about the city's health, which only serves to exacerbate the irritation caused by the game's poorly balanced difficulty spikes. Awkward tutorials appear long after they are necessary, leaving players to decipher the clunky interface and upgrade systems during active combat. Such technical shortcomings highlight a broader lack of mechanical polish, which ensures that even the most promising encounters are perpetually hamstrung by issues that should have been resolved before release. Overall, the journey through these ruined cities proves to be an exhausting endeavour that fails to respect the player's time or effort. While the initial promise of fast-paced traversal provides a flicker of hope, the relentless repetition and unfair balancing make this an experience best left well alone by players.
Horrible execution of cutscenes and dialogue and exposition dumping, this time the enemies have the headstart and not you, and more than half the missions are unskippable exposition dumping, the combats repetitive, and best of all... well you guessed it! unless you haven't :c well the game absolutely stole the plot of attack on titan and isn't original in it's plot whatsoever! yay! :D oh and i got this game for at worst $5, do not pay $30 for this, go buy elden ring or some brand new $60 game instead lmaoooo!
boring ahh game
