About
Word has spread of Esmar, a new island continent brimming with untold riches and ancient secrets. Adventurers, explorers, and conquerors from every corner of the world set sail to claim their destiny. Will they establish a thriving colony, uncover hidden mysteries, and forge their legend in the annals of history?
The uncharted lands of Esmar await your command. Welcome to Explorers of Esmar!
Begin your journey by establishing a thriving settlement from the ground up. Construct a variety of production facilities such as woodcutters, stonecutters, sawmills, mines, and farms to create a robust and efficient economy. Master the art of production chains to ensure your resources flow seamlessly, enabling rapid growth and development.
Increase your population by building residential houses, bringing new settlers to your domain. These valuable helpers are essential for transporting goods across your settlement, ensuring the smooth operation of your production chains. They will automatically get assigned to become specialized workers, driving the efficiency of your facilities. When the time comes, these settlers can also be trained and transformed into soldiers, ready to defend your land and expand your territory. Proper management of your population is key to maintaining a thriving and adaptable settlement.
Expand your territory by strategically placing watchtowers to secure new lands. Push your boundaries further by conquering enemy watchtowers, asserting your dominance, and gaining valuable resources and strategic advantages. You can only build and collect resources within your own territory!
Challenge your friends or players from around the globe in intense multiplayer battles. Or play against the AI. Or both, whatever you like! A single player campaign might be added at a later stage in the development.

It is a clone of Settlers 2, leaning for 3, although Settlers 2 was much better. What's wrong? 1. the edge of screen scroll is frustratingly slow at max speed 2. the mouse moves over the edge to the other monitor 3. holding the middle mouse to scroll feels heavy and moving the mouse a meter moves the screen only so little 4. holding the mouse on minimap moves the screen faster but is far and causes the screen to tear 5. placing a building gives a silly animation where the building "comes from the top right corner" which basically only takes time and moves the screen 6. the military towers only give a *VERY SMALL* new area and demolishing or unoccupying the ones in the center make the territory instantly into "enemy territory" that makes all your buildings explode 7. there is not much room, and everything is swallowed up by the military towers 8. all your production buildings must be *tightly* packed and optimized or you run out of space instantly 9. or you expand with military buildings that give minimal space and take up your soldiers. Think of S2 and divide by two twice and that's the space you get. 10. the roads don't seem to "develop" and are easily built over 11. the military production buildings have no spawn points, so you have to "fish out" your soldiers one by one 12. there is no automated scouting but you must use your soldier, which creates a bad gameplay loop 13. in the tutorial there was no storage building, although it had a goldsmith without gold, so the production buildings stopped working after producing 6 of a resource. 14. the tutorial said "you *may* need more sawmills and woodcutters", even though one sawmill only holds 6 boards out of the 12 needed. 15. The buildings feel so huge compared to the world, and they rotate only in 4 ways. 16. the roads and buildings going only N-S-E-W means that if you want to build a "highway" from SW to NE, that's not possible but you have to constantly make "steps" up and right, so the buildings get in the way and the settlers can't move straight. That's a very bad game development choice that should be left in the 1980ties. 17. As opposed to the feeling of Settlers 2 where you "tame, explore and harvest the wilderness", this game is a cheap mobile version where all your production buildings are huge, packed in a tight space, where the settlers can only move up-down or right-left, where every 3 buildings you need an occupied military tower, and the mines and others have everlasting resources. It is like some sort of "clash of clans", instead of a salute to the Settlers. All in all the game feels like a cheap mobile game with little or no vision, a bad copy of Settlers 2, where the developers have opted for many bad decisions.
If you loved The Settlers II & III, you'll love this game—it totally captures that vibe but brings a slightly different style to the table. It's definitely worth the price. It's fun, and you'll be hooked right away...
What can I say? I really love this kind of game. If you liked settlers III / IV you will get into the game quite fast, if you also liked the road system like in pt 2 - congratulations, you can also optimize with roads (even if it is more bare bones here). Right now there are only basic production lines, but you can clearly see where the game is heading to, and I am really onboard to see where it ends. - I played the tutorial and some skirmish matches, only 1 crash - which was a wine crash, so I dunno if the game is even to blame - however this was in a very early release state. Otherwise? No problems with performance or with even loading into a game I saved before. Really lovely so far - and the fact that there is a field in the skirmish showing "romans" as civ hints at least that some more could be planned (fingers crossed) One more positive thing I liked: Really liked it, that optimizing your food production increases production of ores (1 Food grants 33% efficency, 2 DIFFERENT kinds of food 66 and three for full) Conclusion: I clearly recommend the Game. Yes, there are right now only a few production chains, but they already show where the game wants to build on. Combat is based on three different units which counter each other, building your area and optimize production chains and roads already is much fun for me. It has a long way to go to be perfect, BUT it is on the absolutely right path. Right now there is maybe only a tutorial and a skirmish mode, but there is already a campaign button shown in the menu.. :D –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Was soll ich sagen? :D
Outpost needs stone, there is no stone resource around you to mine and u start with ZERO stone. all leave you stuck from the moment you start the game.
Tolles Spiel!
I played the original settlers game, that this one is strongly based on (way back when it came out ... i am getting old). Getting into this game here felt like that, in a good way. Of course there are still many rough edges and bugs directly after starting early access, but the ground structure and building mechanics work well so far. Even after being attacked in my first game, while still trying to find all rescources for better soldiers, i was able to fight back and recover my ground. So the game is allot more forgiving than many other RTS i played. I hope it will stay this way while it is geting finished, as this more laid back aproach to a tactics game needs a new chance. As expected from the pictures of the game, it seems to be quite easy on the hardware so far, even with all settings maxed (not much to max out thought). So far, also no crash or other gamebraking bug. Lets hope that the signle developper keeps on this game. So far, the work that he has done looks quite good and the plans for the next updates look solid.
