Expeditions: Viking is a unique and very underrated RPG. Sure, it's not the prettiest. Sure, there's very little voice acting. Sure, the combat isn't always the greatest. But it's an enjoyable, immersive saga with a good story, emotional depth, and fantastic ambiance. Bonus points for the two entirely divergent paths in the story that one may take. Don't expect good production values or perfect mechanics, and be prepared to give the game a bit of time to grow on you. It's worth the patience, not to mention the minimal cost. 8.5/10.

Every market we collect.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 8 → 0.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Best of the expeditions historical CRPG trilogy in my opinion. The most customisation in regards to what your character can do, and while there is time limit everything you do doesn't feel time-wasting and adds to the overall narrative while giving you just enough time to get everything you want to do done. Enjoyable companions and a historically realistic setting of Charlemagne era Viking exploration of the northern British isles. Nice touches such as unique looking designs for upgrading your companions armour. One complaint is wolves are horrifically over-powered and pack swarms will give me nightmares for the rest of my life.
hear this is a good game, but in 2024,i still could not have fun, cause there is no chinese version,

Overall this had a good and immersive story line with some historical accuracy. Being 100 Power or 100 Prosperity at the end and still being overtaken by Skule was very stupid and bugged. The Danelaw is a broken ending and doesn't work since the last patch. I had 104 Power and 92 Prosperity, cleared all of Britain..raided everything - I mean everything. Pinned the Picts and Northumbrians against each other only to back stab them both and raid them with a 1,000 man Viking hoard. But at the Allthing ending it wasn't enough and I was exiled. Only Allies will allow you to play to the end which I did just to see the options. Definitely a game breaking bug after 80+ hours on a game. Oh! and their archers can hit you from the other screen away through fortified walls with less than 5% chance accuracy but your archers will need a 65% or better chance and cannot clip walls. The game is rigged.
Tedious and boring. The game gave my main character nothing but a knife and pitted my squad of 5 against 9 enemies. The archers can barely ever land a shot and just miss all the time. The game is filled with annoying mechanics like stunning and similar nonsense so, often my characters don't even get a turn. Just so tedious.
I have played over 200 hours and still not finished this game. 100/10 would recommend
It freezes every single time I go to town to recruit people for my expedition. this means I can't proceed with the game after 5hrs of gameplay. It's also an old game so the fact that this hasn't been fixed is disheartening. would not recommend a broken unplayable game.
It's fantastic, deserves more praise, I immidiately bought Expeditions: Rome as well as all the DLCs. I think that the developers put a great deal of effort and passion into the game. 60% turn-based fighting with cover mechanism, no magic but some shouts to buff and debuff, poisons etc. 20% choice making, talking, some stealth even, 10% upgrading your village, 10% camping and exploring - it has a lot to offer, but at times feels a bit basic. I took me a while to get used to it, only prologue is around 5 hours long, almost made me stop playing it but I'm so glad I stuck with it.
