Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Expeditions: Samurai is an expansive roleplaying game set in our world during real historical events, with an intricate, branching story and a vibrant cast of characters. At every turn, you will be faced with life-or-death choices that will challenge your resolve.
Create the character you want to be and choose your own path through history. Even the smallest of your decisions can have far-reaching consequences for yourself, your crew, and - in many cases - the people of Japan.

In the year 1600, the navigator William Adams arrived in Japan. He would soon become the first European granted the title of "Samurai".
In Expeditions: Samurai, William Adams never leaves England; you will beat Adams to the punch and sail to Japan aboard the Dutch frigate De Albatros.
You arrive in Japan as the newly elected leader of a motley crew of privateers and are quickly swept up in an ongoing civil war that is nearing its climax. Navigate the politics, intrigue, and drama of feudal Japan as you and your crew catch the attention of powerful warlords whose struggle will determine the future of the nation.

Every crewmate has their own story to uncover - if you manage to earn their trust. Build your relationship with each companion into a meaningful friendship, a lifelong rivalry, or possibly even a new love.

Outnumbered but never outgunned, engage your enemies on your own terms in a fast and freeing turn-based combat system where movement, attacks, and interruptions can all play out simultaneously.
Use stealth and clever gadgets to toy with your opponents. Split up your team to position them in real-time and set up devastating ambushes. Utilize a vast array of weapons and abilities to maintain the upper hand - from mainstays of the pirate arsenal to iconic Japanese weapons.
Craft your own items and experiment with different loadouts to survive deadly and diverse enemies.

For the first time ever in an Expeditions game, experience the tense combat and deeply branching narrative of Expeditions: Samurai in drop-in/drop-out co-op. Play in single-player as your own Captain Flynn, or invite your friend and play as a pair of twins.
In co-op, talking to characters at the same time lets you wrestle for control of important decisions or compete for a companion's affections. Coordinate sneak attacks or clever combat maneuvers; throw a distracting firecracker at just the right time to let your partner sneak past a sentry, or execute a flawlessly timed double stealth takedown.

Worse than previous titles. Stealth and suprise attacking feels bad. Butchered asian women faces. Story is not great but not bad. Gameplay is unbalanced but it might change during developement. Very underwhelming.
As someone who is a fan of the Expeditions series I was excited to have a Sengoku-era Japan setting. The character creator has much to be desired and I much preferred the creator for Expeditions: Rome. I was initially disappointed that you play a foreigner as the main character, however I can see the angle they were going for as much of the conflict you face is against Portuguese/Jesuits in the early game. I am satisfied with the combat, but it is admittedly not as good as Expeditions: Rome's combat was. I will additionally add that yes there is some non-historical elements that may turn off some players who prefer a more immersive historically believable set of characters and setting. In terms of clunk, it has been minimal, but I have noticed some issues with characters glitching through some buildings when moving them, and additionally sometimes when leaving merchant trading screens the game will seemingly freeze. but this is fixed when I simply window out and back into the game. I will say as someone who games on Linux (Bazzite) I am happy that the game works relatively well without having to play around with settings. From the first four hours of early game play I have had with it I wish I could give a neutral rating because I am enjoying playing it, but it is a noticeable downgrade from Expeditions: Rome, and if you really did expect a similar experience, you will likely be disappointed. But if you are able to tolerate some of the critiques and differences it has, I would recommend at least trying it, and if you don't enjoy it from what you can within the first two hours, then refund it.

I love expeditions, but this UI felt a little funnny compared to the rest. The tutorial didn't really hit it home for the most important thing (on PC) which is to hold down the scroll button in order to change the angles. Better yet, environments should not have so much clutter that I am struggling to find enemies or my characters. It's EA, so the story is quite short. The skills/leveling system should have a way to reset them and confirm in order to level up. Rather than having for me to close and reload the entire game. Finally, looting and selling is cumbersome. I don't know what to craft with the materials I am collecting. There is a barter system but it is also strange because I don't know the value of the items. For technical specs, it requires a lot. I'm not sure if it's because it's defaulted to Ultra, but it felt very laggy in the character creation. To which I also am not very pleased with how my character ended up... Needs a lot more work here compared to Rome which was an absolute gem.
I wouldn't recommend getting it current state, best to wait for launch version. My so far biggest annoyances with ES are the art style, stealth and the overall EA state of it. The artstyle just doesn't work well, it has that smooth clean cartoony feel to it. The 3d models in dialogues are not good at all, they'll static, sometimes weird looking and not much expressive. It doesn't reflect current state of characters, like at start of story they're described as starved and dehydrated, yet they look normal. Its not like in Tyranny where its just small part and you can ignore it, here it takes most of screen and i'm not at all impressed. The stealth system isn't well implemented and with how AI has bad pathfinding, it causes way too many issues with it. There's no pause or slow time mode to plan out stuff, its full real time. Pretty much every real time stealth game has those things for a good reason, and here there are noone of it. You can also straight up miss attacks or have them glance at foes, which makes the whole thing even more tedious and the stat that gives bonuses to surprise attacks not look good at all. There isn't even toggle for crouch/move silent, its shift + right click, as just normal right click makes them sprint in stealth section. Whole thing boils down to using only one companion for stealth and she's basically required as she has talent that makes her make no noise while running. So you give her a bow and hope she kills foes in one hit or have her blitz to area to get items that are part of quests and then have her run away back. Pathfinding is so bad when it comes to group to the point they struggle to open basic doors. With party of 4, she's basically gonna be perma slotted. When i say EA state, you feel it while playing. Lack of QoL stuff, some stuff being tedious like holding buttons for looting/opening. There's no crafting yet, world map doesn't allow to go into menu, you have to travel to certain spots and then make camp, then you can open escape menu. It feels like they needed more time and this is more of an alpha/beta version than EA version. Stuff isn't explained well, like superior position for one class, they don't tell you what it is or give you visual indicator, so you're left confused. Half of skills that are related to dialogue end up being only used with MC, companions don't use them. The only use they have for them is unlocking couple of perks, as some perks have skill requirements, but if you're not planning on getting them, then they're worthless for companions. It's pretty bad as some companions have high amount of points put into them. Dialogue for most part been solid, but some dialogue i've found to be quite unfitting and more modern like. Its that "i'm trying to be humorous as much as possible while ignoring serious moments"
Series has gone very woke and cartoony in design and storytelling. Voice acting feels forced and animations wonky. The series rarely releases modding assets so I doubt it can be improved. Save your money and get viking or conquistador, they were gritty and much more fun
Expedition Rome was way better than this... this is so awful.
This game needs a serious rework. First, models; WTF is that?! They are ridicolous, looks like child made them and not the team of profesionals. Player development: too many unneeded stats, 4 you need the rest, just total waste of skillpoints. Game graphics, not too bad, but if you compare expeditions Rome with this one, you would think this one is the older one. Story: well, cant't say realy, first couple of hours of gameply were not "WOW great, cant wait for the rest of the story!" more like, "hmmm, i hope they change it, improve it." Characters are boring, and ugly! (especialy female characters, like reallly ugly!) Sneaking system, ruins the game! Plus all that lockpicking, wtf? Crafting is still in development, so if your character gets hurt, and you need to craft a medicine, forget about it! To craft weapons, and armour also in development. Anyway, disapointment so far. Not worth the money.
Enjoying so far, I do miss the army management from the Rome game as well as the color and symbol customization that game had in the camp system.
Feels bad, looks bad, and has marvel writing.
