For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. About

Expeditions: Samurai is an expansive roleplaying game set in our world during real historical events, with an intricate, branching story and a vibrant cast of characters. At every turn, you will be faced with life-or-death choices that will challenge your resolve.
Create the character you want to be and choose your own path through history. Even the smallest of your decisions can have far-reaching consequences for yourself, your crew, and - in many cases - the people of Japan.

In the year 1600, the navigator William Adams arrived in Japan. He would soon become the first European granted the title of "Samurai".
In Expeditions: Samurai, William Adams never leaves England; you will beat Adams to the punch and sail to Japan aboard the Dutch frigate De Albatros.
You arrive in Japan as the newly elected leader of a motley crew of privateers and are quickly swept up in an ongoing civil war that is nearing its climax. Navigate the politics, intrigue, and drama of feudal Japan as you and your crew catch the attention of powerful warlords whose struggle will determine the future of the nation.

Every crewmate has their own story to uncover - if you manage to earn their trust. Build your relationship with each companion into a meaningful friendship, a lifelong rivalry, or possibly even a new love.

Outnumbered but never outgunned, engage your enemies on your own terms in a fast and freeing turn-based combat system where movement, attacks, and interruptions can all play out simultaneously.
Use stealth and clever gadgets to toy with your opponents. Split up your team to position them in real-time and set up devastating ambushes. Utilize a vast array of weapons and abilities to maintain the upper hand - from mainstays of the pirate arsenal to iconic Japanese weapons.
Craft your own items and experiment with different loadouts to survive deadly and diverse enemies.

For the first time ever in an Expeditions game, experience the tense combat and deeply branching narrative of Expeditions: Samurai in drop-in/drop-out co-op. Play in single-player as your own Captain Flynn, or invite your friend and play as a pair of twins.
In co-op, talking to characters at the same time lets you wrestle for control of important decisions or compete for a companion's affections. Coordinate sneak attacks or clever combat maneuvers; throw a distracting firecracker at just the right time to let your partner sneak past a sentry, or execute a flawlessly timed double stealth takedown.

It's mostly the same experience as previous "Expedition" titles, currently it is nowhere near as close to Expeditions:Rome, but it appears to be going in that direction. No, it is not historically accurate by any stretch of the margin, they took a historical idea and drafted a story around it, don't take it too serious. The game has beta level bugs, some annoying, some glaring, and some depending on choices you make they can be encountered. The content available is nowhere near Baldur's Gate 3, but the game's early access has a similar premise, it is chapter-choice based. The ammount of hours i have played is the current chapter content for 1 playthrough. With more promised via roadmap... All comments both the good and the bad for this title are true, judge the game for yourselves if it is worth your time and money. Ty & Have Fun!
Normally, I don't give reviews this early, but I feel like I have to because a lot of people seem to be declaring the game bad already, even though I get the impression that many of the problems people have with it are simply due to Early Access. I'm playing on my Steam Machine with a Steam Controller. Performance-wise, the game runs very smoothly. Controller support, however, doesn't work particularly well yet. Sometimes PlayStation button prompts are shown, some menus glitch out, and I've even managed to get the game completely stuck a few times. But honestly, this is the kind of stuff I expect from an Early Access release. The art style, sadly, is a different story. I really dislike the comic-style look they went for, and the statements they've made about it don't give me much hope that this will change. Their responses make it sound like they either don't really understand the criticism or simply don't agree with it. Personally, I just don't think comic art styles look good in games like this. I'm not entirely sure why this style has become so common. Maybe the excessive use of shaders can compensate for shortcomings in 3D modeling, but that's just speculation on my part. Either way, visually, the game is a major downgrade for me. So why am I still giving it a positive rating? Because the gameplay is simply good. The turn-based combat feels amazing, as it always has in the Expeditions games. I was a little worried about the new stealth mechanics, but they actually work much better than I expected. The story isn't *Expeditions: Rome* good so far, but it's good enough for a start, and we'll see how it develops with the upcoming updates. So my conclusion after about four hours: I had fun, even with all the Early Access problems. If you don't like having to save frequently, occasionally switch to mouse and keyboard for menus, or deal with bugs and unfinished controller support, wait for the full release. If you're fine with those things and want to see the game improve during Early Access, I'd say it's already worth buying.

A lot of bugs for EA but if they polish it up, it should be a good game on launch.

Great Start! I cannot wait to play the full game!
i AM BEYOND STOKED. I had no clue until about a week ago, like many of you, that this game was even coming.. I absolutely love the expeditions series and I probably put 100 hours into Rome. It's rare I play a game that long these days, even rarer that I am hungry for more afterwards but suffice to say these games are made for me. Rich story, Well Written Characters with compelling dialogue I never skip, deep tactical combat that rewards creativity and strategy and above all else, passion and soul from the dev team. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you for not letting this series die with the Studio Logic Artists, you will always be legends in my book.
The game is pretty polished for being JUST released in Early Access. The reviews I've seen seem to have the most complaints about the art style, which reminds me of the telltale series of Walking Dead games. It works well enough. The bugs are few, mostly just small things (random CTD. Only twice in six hours). The characters already feel fleshed out, with their own personalities and quirks. The combat is very similar to the other Expedition games and honestly I think it's going to be great. I'm really looking forward to what's coming, the game is very promising even at this early stage. The majority of early access titles out there feel more like pre-alpha, whereas this one feels like it's already pretty far along the development process. The key piece is how well and how often they update in the next year or so, but I'm very hopeful.
Samurai is shaping up to probably be the weakest of the series. But when comparing against the stellar Rome it is a tough one to go up against. Graphically it's ok, though I feel like all the character design went through an HR team. The writing is actually quite good and choices do really seam to matter. i have finished all the current content launched in EA so this is still subject to change. The Combat is not great, even on the harder difficulty I waltzed through it not a problem. They just had an update fixing stealth hopefully as going through an entire map stealthing with a musket though funny doesn't seem really realistic. Music also pretty decent. They are going to fix the trading as me having to guess how much they want for something annoying and a time waster. So far Samurai has a weak cocurrent player count and looks to have sold at most about 5K copies, I do think it will get finished but doubt this game games any extra time in the oven as it will most likely be a loss. But still I liked overall what I did so far so bumping it a positive.
