Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.29/day in the week to Sep 15 → 0.25/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Expeditions: Samurai is an expansive roleplaying game set in our world during real historical events, with an intricate, branching story and a vibrant cast of characters. At every turn, you will be faced with life-or-death choices that will challenge your resolve.
Create the character you want to be and choose your own path through history. Even the smallest of your decisions can have far-reaching consequences for yourself, your crew, and - in many cases - the people of Japan.

In the year 1600, the navigator William Adams arrived in Japan. He would soon become the first European granted the title of "Samurai".
In Expeditions: Samurai, William Adams never leaves England; you will beat Adams to the punch and sail to Japan aboard the Dutch frigate De Albatros.
You arrive in Japan as the newly elected leader of a motley crew of privateers and are quickly swept up in an ongoing civil war that is nearing its climax. Navigate the politics, intrigue, and drama of feudal Japan as you and your crew catch the attention of powerful warlords whose struggle will determine the future of the nation.

Every crewmate has their own story to uncover - if you manage to earn their trust. Build your relationship with each companion into a meaningful friendship, a lifelong rivalry, or possibly even a new love.

Outnumbered but never outgunned, engage your enemies on your own terms in a fast and freeing turn-based combat system where movement, attacks, and interruptions can all play out simultaneously.
Use stealth and clever gadgets to toy with your opponents. Split up your team to position them in real-time and set up devastating ambushes. Utilize a vast array of weapons and abilities to maintain the upper hand - from mainstays of the pirate arsenal to iconic Japanese weapons.
Craft your own items and experiment with different loadouts to survive deadly and diverse enemies.

For the first time ever in an Expeditions game, experience the tense combat and deeply branching narrative of Expeditions: Samurai in drop-in/drop-out co-op. Play in single-player as your own Captain Flynn, or invite your friend and play as a pair of twins.
In co-op, talking to characters at the same time lets you wrestle for control of important decisions or compete for a companion's affections. Coordinate sneak attacks or clever combat maneuvers; throw a distracting firecracker at just the right time to let your partner sneak past a sentry, or execute a flawlessly timed double stealth takedown.

It's bad in every way. Why write about different languages if only English is available after release? A game built around dialogue provides very few clues as to when a particular word is used in accordance with the mechanics. There’s no optimization. Set the shadow preset to high, and the computer tries to fly to Mars. Set it to low, and instead of shadows, there are just black lines on the screen where shadows should be. Not gray, not outlined—just lines. In previous games in this series, the mechanics were revealed gradually; here, everything is thrown at you all at once. And the game doesn’t even pause to explain what’s going on. What do you think of the idea of giving you almost all possible companions right at the start? And when we level up for the first time, it turns into chaos. Every character now has perks, abilities, and skills. And yet, without knowing what I might need, I have to choose either an ability or a skill—or both, if I have enough points to level them up. It’s fine for a demo, but it’s a problem for a game, even in early access.

I loved the previous game, Expedition: Rome.I like the current Early Access version of Expedition: Samurai, but I hope there will be improvements. 1.Add a function button to hide the helmet from the portrait when the character is wearing a helmet.Samurai armor with a straw hat, or European breastplate with a samurai helmet, looks really mismatched. 2.Add one-click hero selection switching, allowing player to swiftly select all heroes or one single hero. Add mouse drag-and-drop selection functionality. The current G-F selection/deselection is too cumbersome, especially in stealth mode. 3.In stealth mode, a musket attack should trigger an alarm, but an arrow attack shouldn't. In current version, gunshot does not trigger any alarm, it is strongly against common sense. 4.In stealth mode, if an enemy patrol sees a friendly soldier's corpse, they should immediately sound an alarm. 5.Design a disguise feature that prolongs the time it takes for the enemy to become suspicious when a character dons an enemy's uniform. 6.The non-lethal attack mechanics need to be clearly defined. The ability to easily kill enemies with bare hands is a bit too powerful. Furthermore, the damage output of bare hands is excessively high, a significant difference from the previous game. Bare hands should focus more on special effects, such as throwing sand to blind enemies. 7.In Chapter 1, only the protagonist's social skills are checked in most situations; other heroes don't seem to need to invest points in social skills. The same seems to apply to intuition and environmental observation. 8.Shopping at merchants is so inconvenient. Why aren't prices clearly displayed? Constantly guessing and adjusting prices is a waste of time. Just select your items and pay with a single click.
The game is great for people who like the early history of the 17th century and find it fun. Do not expect a history lesson; it is just a colorful game with semi-modern banter, based on some historical events. I especially love the depth the companions have, especially how contradictory the priest character is, for example. Pros: - Colorful clothing like it should be. - The Portuguese and Spanish are evil bastards. - The weapons actually have sheaths. - The party most of the time starts sneaking because they are only 4 against a bunch of enemies. - You can pet cats. - There is a discussion between two companions about sex and cannibalism. Cons: - Class information is unclear. - Needs more colorful cursing. - The trading mechanic needs work; you waste time guessing how much the seller wants. You also need a tool to compare the equipment. - Only one type of body, needs more muscles and fat. - Asking El Gato why she is with the Portuguese makes no sense. Portugal and Spain were governed by the same king. - Lots of bugs.
Loved it even tho its short and in early access :D
Pretty fun, not a lot of content yet, ask me again in when the full game comes out.
I've enjoyed. Story and gameplay are both fun. Primary complaint I see in other reviews is throwing shade at developers for selling the IP off...not relevant to this game's level of enjoyment. It's a different take but same basic recipe. After playing the last two entries, Vikings and Rome, I think this is a fun entry so far. hard to say too much considering the game isn't complete.
Very good game that reconnects to the first vibe of Expeditions. Very cool charachters, cool quests, nice combats, very nice Feodal Japan spirit. Rome was very good but somewhat had that Strategy touch that wasn't quite the former spirit of the serie. I have to notice that I don't like the UI choices and the commands are clunky Some strange choices as right clicking for everything with key combination makes it very counterintuitive : Forget about stealth... Still needs polish but seems to me the best of all expeditions games !
Congratulations. You did it again. Great game, I can't put it down. K, gotta go get back to it.
Mariko sama, fetch me my wallet.
Pretty good for early access. The premise of the story isn't my favorite as it feels very similar to Shogun if you've ever seen that show or the books it's based on. I would have preferred a game set in Japan prior to the arrival of Europeans. That said, it plays pretty well without any major issues. Definitely needs some control tweaks for certain things but still promising and enjoyable.
