Expeditions: Conquistador

Expeditions: Conquistador surprised me with how much it made me feel the weight of my own choices — I went in expecting a straightforward tactics game and ended up genuinely unsettled watching my expedition descend into brutality, all of my own volition. The party morale system is clever: your pious companions bristle when you side with the natives, your greedy soldiers cheer when you loot a temple, and that tension gives every decision a cost beyond just resources. The hex-based combat is challenging and satisfying, though the camera being glued to your character on the overworld gets genuinely frustrating when you're trying to navigate dense jungle. The camping loop — hunting, healing, assigning tasks — starts as an interesting survival puzzle but does get repetitive by the midgame. Still, for an indie game this ambitious, the writing and moral complexity punch well above its weight, and I walked away thinking about it long after the credits rolled. Recommended, especially on sale.

I have not played long enough so here are my first impressions: If you have played some old games from 10-20 years ago, this game is not quite bad in terms of jankiness. The setting is interesting enough to make up for the lack of modernity. Having women in video games makes them interesting. We get it, some gamers are bigots who want to exercise their irl hatred for others in video games. Maybe go to therapy instead.

It's kind of just a slog from start to finish. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's a bad game, it's just not for me.

I bought this on sale bundled with Expeditions Rome and Vikings. I have never played a game in this setting and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very satisfactory to discover and reveal the map, and to role play a Conquistador. I married two native ladies and sacrificed a member of my expedition to acquire a powerful artifact. This game was great fun and it played very smoothly despite it being old. 9.4 out of 10

The story is decent and changes depending on your choices, but that's the only good thing about the game. I wouldn't really classify this as a TRPG, it's more of a management/sim game. It's incredibly slow and tedious to explore the map, everything has a resource cost and takes too long. Most of your playtime is just spent ensuring you have enough food and gold to progress. Combat is very basic, skills seem useless, and the graphics are really unclear. There's grass/trees covering the hex-grids so it's hard to see where you can move. It's not clear who's an ally or enemy, who can still attack this turn, where you can move etc. Why are the movement hexes green when 90% of the game is set in a green jungle?! I don't really recommend this unless you want a management/sim game. After the first map I enabled cheats and teleported everywhere - it's just not worth the time investment.

Really good tactical game with a "what if" scenario

После прохождения Экспедиция Рим и Экспедиция Викинги, прошел и эту игру. Несмотря на то, что графика тут более простая, ввиду того, что игра более старая, все же игра не хуже Рима и викингов! В некотором смысле играть даже сложнее, вызов игроку на максимальном уровне сложности действительно ощущается как что-то тяжелое и непростое. В какой-то момент я даже подумал что мне не удастся победить в финальном бою. Вот это хардкор, вот это испытание!

I absolutely love Expeditions: Viking and Rome so I was looking forward to checking this one out. Unfortunately, likely due to the age of the game, I couldn't find an appropriate resolution setting. I AM playing on my television so I expected some difference but it was too drastic. Not only was the picture skewed but the mouse cursor was huge. So large that I couldn't see the tool tips underneath whatever I was scrolling over. There is no setting to alter that either and it is too much of a pain to change the setting in my OS constantly in order to play the game. Unfortunately I had to refund. I do highly recommend the other Expedition games though.

Quizas sea pronto para hacer una reseña como dios manda. Pero por ahora el juego promete. El combate es similar a los juegos de 2k xcom y se me hace bastante intuitivo como aprender a jugar. Lo recomiendo si lo que buscas es un juego de aventuras con un poco de estrategia
