New Game - Hard
After 17.9 hours, beaten the game at Hard Difficulty with a grand total of 233 deaths (Damn that one section in
Chapter 14 in which the cyclone bee zombie, shield leech zombie, and three spider zombies section
). The game does not feel well-tuned for higher difficulties beyond bullet-sponge enemies and in general, the gameplay of just sending mob enemies could be more interestingly designed. The guns, while feeling impactful, does not reflect this in actual gameplay - especially with the non rank-and-file enemies that take a substantial amount of bullets plugged into them. The soundtrack, while somewhat enjoyable, does not generally stand out (aside from the really cool ambient music when encountering
Glamours
). The creature design of the few vampires and the numerous vampire familiars / servants are pretty well-designed. They are sufficiently grotesque and horrifying with interesting distinctions between enemy types. The story, however, is very much uninteresting with characters that are also largely uninteresting. The looming threat of the vampire uprising does not compel me enough to continue. Instead, it is the simple but sufficiently well-done gameplay loop of shooting vampires and exploring. The art direction of the biomes, that said, definitely stood out. I expected a largely simple desert biome given the premise and opening of the game. That said, there is a wide variety of environments including
oases, oil fields, and vampire temples
.
New Game Plus - Evil
After 31 hours, beaten the game and unlocked all Steam achievements with substantially fewer deaths at 131. The NG+ does feel more enjoyable and surprisingly less challenging thanks to all the weapon upgrades and perks unlocked. Thankfully, I did not experience the Evil difficulty playthrough bug that many online faced.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

С кайфом.
EVERYTIME YOU END A CHAPTER IT GOES BACK ON CHAPTER 1 IT REALLY HATES AND FRUSTATING SINCE I DONT SEE THE SEQUEL OR THE STORY YOU JUST NEED TO END A CHAPTER BEFORE SAVING THE GAME OR IF NOT IT JUST GO BACK ON CHAPTEEEEEERRRRRR 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I JUST PLAY IT SINCE I DONT WANT TO WASTE MY MONEY.

Warning: This game behaves as spyware and collects "telemetry" and personally identifying information. While there is an option to disable this, there's no guarantee that will work. Worse, the developers turned this on by default to try to spy on as many gamers as possible. The developers will make the unverifiable claim that this data isn't personally identifying, of course that's BS as they're collecting IPs and all kinds of other information about gamers, when combined with other profiling data this can 100% identify an individual. They say it's for "QA" purposes but there's no guarantee they're not profiling you or selling your data to third parties as they spy on you. Should you trust them? Of course not... if they had any concerns about user safety and privacy, they wouldn't have built spyware into their game and turned it on by default!. There's simply no reason to trust them and gamers should avoid this game because of this unacceptable privacy invasion. Think of this as someone coming into your home, installing a camera in your living room, and refusing to tell you who will be watching it, if they will record the footage and where they will post it. You have no control over your data once they take it from you. Do you trust them? Now, about the game itself. It's all (questionable) style and no substance. Evil West is a console ported third person hack and slash game that blends the Wild West with vampires and steampunk aesthetic. Steampunk is when goths discover brown. Anyway, this has full AAA production value on a game that was designed because the bosses kid, who was 5 at the time, came up with the concept of a game. I guess. You can make Wild West games. Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the highest selling games of all time and it was a critical success. Not because of the theme, but despite it. Rockstar showed that if you hire the best writers and construct a killer narrative, people will play your game no matter what the backdrop. Well, there's none of what made RDR2 a success here. Famous chefs will tell you the first bite is with the eyes, and there's no denying Focus had a great team of artists doing what they were told on this one. Awful taste, but great execution on the visuals. Kudos to the art guys (unsung heroes of the gaming industry if you ask me). And while almost all of the time, games (especially from amateur devs) fail is because they're lazy on visuals, don't hire teams of artists, push out a weekends worth of pixelcrap and expect to get paid, this one fails for the opposite reasons. The game is just terribly boring... it's a pedestrian, console-esque button masher brawler. You fight zombies/vampires/whatevers by bashing away at keys and looking at the animations for your attacks and that's about it (some mild platforming/ledge crawling to move around, ala Darksiders, another borefest). It's incredibly repetitive. The elementary school narrative is boring, the gameplay is boring... this goes to the core of why PC gamers are different from console gamers. PC gamers expect a lot more depth out of games. Now in fairness, the console games that are most successful are usually co-developed for PC, this one clearly was designed for consoles first. Yes, there's a lot of flashy lights and animations and over the top looking action, but you don't feel even mildly rewarded for putting yourself through it. With full-AAA pricing you get a woefully thin vampires vs cowboys theme park, and it's even worse than it sounds. Because this is designed for consoles, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the inferior console gaming appliances that the game was designed for. These are unfortunate compromises and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was a second thought for the console-centric developers. The game is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for consoles forces upon a game. Once more, console peasants have made gaming worse for everyone. Let's look at the price and what kind of value this actually offers gamers. Should you buy this game? Is it one of the best of the 140,000+ games on Steam? Evil West has the cash grab price of $50 USD, for which you could easily get any number of brand new AAA games, especially ones made for PC. Buy any of those. Heck, buy Red Dead Redemption 2 three times when on sale, it would still be cheaper. Finally, I write these reviews to try help people navigate the thousands of games on Steam so they don't waste time on low quality products. There's over 140,000 games on Steam... Steam Direct is allowing an influx of around 40-50 new games every day!. If you think I'm wrong about this one, go ahead and buy it, download it, install it, play it and see for yourself. Maybe you'll come to agree with me after spending your money. Either way, consider writing your own reviews too. I'm just glad if my review help give gamers enough info to make a better informed choice.
