I forgot why I dropped this game. But I must have a good reason. Just in case I'm leaving a negative review but will definitely go back into it. It did remind me of Remnant from the ashes but then it dropped the bag.
Hate to say it, but I found this game really boring very quickly. Punch and shoot dudes. No real depth. No umph to the sound effects, music. No spectacle like i was expecting. Very bland and it just got boring real fast.
the review bombers need to either get good or go away this game is Peak
i havent finished the game, but from what ive played, its really freaking good the combat is a nice mix of melee and ranged with decent combo potential, you get introduced to new weapons and abilities regularly and theres a nice selection of upgrades and perks you can unlock, enemies for the most part react appropriately to being smacked in the face with a steampunk gauntlet or being blasted by a double barrel and most of their attacks are well telegraphed so it almost never feels unfair the writing is a mixed bag, while it occasionally got a chuckle out of me or presented a fun scenario for the characters, it also includes words like "nerd" or "database" that really have no place in this steampunk western, that being said, the writing aims to be a campy ride and it accomplishes that i suppose frankly it does not seem like a 7/10 at all, this is 8+ material, mainly for the really fun combat, i wish it had a ranking system
Fell through the floor 3 times in a row
At the end of the game the developers run out of ideas and patience with their own game. It suddenly starts stuttering, lagging and a plethora of bugs appear that weren't there before. Also as a sorry excuse for difficulty you get swarmed with the most tanky enemies as well as ranged attack spam. It goes from fun combat and comboing your way through encounters to dodge until your gadgets are ready so you can get some damage in. It's just garbage. It started off so good, i have no idea why the devs suddenly decided their game needs to be trash but here we go. Thank god i got it on a deep sale, anything more than 5 bucks and i would have been mad.
game keeps freezing when in menu for too long.
Game is satisfying... until it isn't. After a few hours enemies are becoming sponges and there's too many of them. Arena after arena, fight after fight, doing all the same things all the time. Story is shallow, but I played it just for fun of killing a few vampires and doing some very simple puzzles - for that, mindless walks through the levels, it's great. Unfortunately, game has a lot of small bugs. I had enough after being stuck on chest opening animation.
After playing through this game on Hard in a co-op playthrough, i can say the game has its uniqueness. It was a fun game for sure, but the bad out weighs the good on this one. The game does not seem like it was made to be a multiplayer game. Combat is wonky when facing the same enemy, the need to be 1 cm behind the other player to make a tiny jump only to have to make the jump back because there was only a lever over there. The last half of the game it seemed like they just gave up on it. Overall the game is fun, has a lot of good ideas, but the execution behind it has a bit of room for improvement.
