So far this game is pretty fun, for the amount of time I've played it so far. Right off the bat the game already requires strategy. it definitely tests the reflexes a bit. But all in all the game is great so far and i will continue playing it. Its sort of like a harder Mario with more quick thinking and higher difficulty. WraithWinterly you did a good job on this game so far and i hope to see you possibly work on it more in the future and potentially release other games in the future. Kavin
I normally don't leave reviews, but I decided to make an exception for this game. What a charming platformer! The controls are very fluid, and it *feels* nice to move throughout the game world. It's also really refreshing and relaxing to know that there doesn't seem to be any big epic storyline, but rather just plain old platforming goodness. It's such a chill game to play and relax to, that even when things start getting intense, you still never leave that feeling of just pure relaxation and fun. I think that the graphics could be tweaked a little bit. Not a lot. I actually like the unusual style of different resolution pixel art for different game elements. However, I think that the creator needs to be a bit more careful with doing this, as some elements can seem a bit jarring. The size of the character, for example, in relation to the animals, can be a bit jarring. Thing is, it's not necessarily the size of the character per se. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I feel like the graphics need to be tweaked in order to open this game up to a wider audience. That's a shame, though, because the game just feels so smooth to play. The controls are so smooth and fun to interact with that I would recommend the game for that alone, lol. It's a really neat game, and it definitely has a niche appeal. I think the creator will have to do quite a lot of work still to market this game. It's going to be a lot of work to get this game into the hands of the people who will really enjoy it. But it'll be worth it to put in the extra effort for marketing, as difficult as marketing will be for them. :D
Fun game to play, it's not easy to get it going from the start. :P The music is amazing, will play more.....
Fun refreshing gameplay... love the music.... but all things changed when little Ruthy gets a GUN! mwhahaha ;)
Great game, love art style. The game play requires thought and planning which makes the game way fore fun. level up system is nice and allows you to choose how you want to balance your game. Looking forward to future updates and releases :)
Everplast is an indie action-platformer that blends high-speed movement, character progression, and challenging level design into a surprisingly ambitious package. Developed and published by WraithWinterly, the game focuses on rewarding persistence and mechanical improvement while giving players enough customization options to make each run feel personal. Rather than relying solely on traditional platforming challenges, it introduces RPG-inspired progression systems that encourage players to continually strengthen their character while mastering the game's demanding environments. At its core, Everplast is built around momentum. Players are encouraged to move quickly through levels, chaining jumps, combat encounters, and traversal techniques together while avoiding hazards and overcoming difficult obstacles. The controls are designed to support fast reactions and fluid movement, creating a sense of speed that becomes one of the game's defining characteristics. Success often depends on learning level layouts, understanding enemy behavior, and refining movement skills through repeated attempts. This trial-and-error structure may be challenging for newcomers, but it creates a satisfying sense of accomplishment whenever a previously difficult section is finally conquered. One of the game's most distinctive features is its progression system. As players explore the world and defeat enemies, they earn resources that can be invested into character growth. Rather than forcing everyone into a single playstyle, Everplast allows players to shape their build according to their preferences. Those who enjoy mobility can focus on speed-oriented upgrades, while others may choose to increase raw power or survivability. This flexibility adds meaningful replay value and helps the game stand apart from many platformers that offer little long-term customization. The Adrenaline mechanic serves as the centerpiece of gameplay. This resource fuels various abilities and encourages players to stay active and aggressive. Proper management of adrenaline can dramatically improve both combat efficiency and traversal potential, making it a system that influences nearly every aspect of the experience. The mechanic creates an enjoyable risk-and-reward dynamic, as players who learn to maximize its benefits gain greater control over encounters and environmental challenges. It also helps reinforce the game's emphasis on maintaining momentum rather than slowing down to approach every situation cautiously. Exploration and progression are further supported by collectible blue orbs and rank advancement systems. These elements provide a constant sense of growth, ensuring that even failed attempts contribute toward future success. Unlocking new upgrades and increasing overall power gives players tangible rewards for their efforts, making the journey feel worthwhile even when the difficulty spikes. This steady progression helps balance the demanding platforming sections by ensuring that players are continually working toward meaningful goals. Combat complements the platforming well, offering a variety of offensive options that can be used without disrupting the flow of movement. The game encourages players to dispatch enemies quickly and continue forward rather than treating combat as a separate activity. This seamless integration of action and traversal helps maintain the fast-paced rhythm that defines the overall experience. While the combat mechanics are not exceptionally deep, they serve their purpose effectively and contribute to the game's energetic atmosphere. Visually, Everplast embraces a retro-inspired pixel art style that suits its gameplay focus. The handcrafted environments possess a simple but appealing charm, and the overall presentation reflects the passion of a small independent development effort. While the graphics may not compete with larger productions, they provide enough variety and personality to support the adventure without distracting from the gameplay itself. Everplast's greatest strength lies in how it combines several different ideas into a cohesive experience. The challenging platforming, customizable progression systems, adrenaline-based mechanics, and rewarding sense of advancement work together to create a game that consistently encourages improvement. It may not appeal to players seeking a casual or narrative-driven adventure, but those who enjoy mastering mechanics and overcoming difficult challenges will likely find plenty to appreciate.
