Euclidean Skies demonstrates how far a puzzle game can go when it is built around a single creative idea and commits to exploring it fully. Developed and published by Miro Straka, this atmospheric title expands on the concepts introduced in Euclidean Lands and places players in a world of floating islands, impossible architecture, and carefully constructed tactical challenges. Rather than emphasizing narrative or spectacle, the game focuses on delivering a thoughtful experience where every action is deliberate and every puzzle feels handcrafted. Its combination of turn-based movement, environmental manipulation, and strategic combat gives it a unique identity among modern puzzle games. At its core, Euclidean Skies revolves around navigating intricate structures suspended high above the clouds. Players control a heroine who must traverse platforms, avoid hazards, outmaneuver enemies, and ultimately reach the end of each stage. What separates the game from more conventional puzzle adventures is the ability to rotate and reposition entire sections of the environment. Towers shift, pathways emerge, and perspectives change as players interact with the world. This mechanic transforms every level into a dynamic puzzle box, requiring players to think not only about where they are going but also about how the landscape itself can be altered to create new possibilities. The game's progression is paced effectively across dozens of levels, with each chapter introducing fresh mechanics that build naturally upon previous lessons. Enemy types become more varied, environmental obstacles grow increasingly elaborate, and puzzles begin to demand several steps of planning in advance. There is a satisfying sense of growth as players develop an understanding of the game's rules and learn to anticipate how changing the environment affects both allies and opponents. The tactical combat elements are simple on the surface, yet they add an extra layer of tension that prevents the puzzles from becoming repetitive. Visually, Euclidean Skies embraces a clean and colorful art style that complements its surreal setting. The floating constructions resemble architectural models brought to life, creating an elegant aesthetic that feels both modern and fantastical. Each environment stands out through its use of color, scale, and geometric design, making even the most complex stages easy to read. The presentation successfully communicates the spatial relationships that are essential to solving puzzles, ensuring that players are challenged by the mechanics rather than by confusing visuals. The skybound setting also contributes to a sense of wonder, reinforcing the impression that players are exploring a series of impossible worlds suspended beyond reality. The audio presentation is equally effective in supporting the experience. A soothing soundtrack accompanies players throughout their journey, providing a calming backdrop that contrasts nicely with the increasingly demanding puzzles. Sound effects are subtle but purposeful, offering immediate feedback for movement, attacks, and environmental changes. Together, the music and sound design create an atmosphere that encourages concentration and makes extended play sessions surprisingly relaxing despite the game's strategic demands. Euclidean Skies is at its best when it trusts players to discover solutions on their own. It avoids excessive hand-holding and instead rewards experimentation and persistence. Many puzzles initially appear unsolvable, only for a clever realization to reveal an elegant answer hidden in plain sight. This sense of accomplishment is one of the game's greatest strengths. However, that same philosophy may prove intimidating for some players. The later levels can become exceptionally challenging, occasionally relying on solutions that require extensive observation and multiple attempts. Those seeking a lighter, more casual puzzle experience may find the difficulty spikes frustrating, while dedicated puzzle enthusiasts will likely appreciate the mental exercise. Performance is consistently solid throughout the experience, and the game's concise runtime works in its favor. Euclidean Skies never stretches its central concept beyond its limits, instead delivering a focused adventure that leaves a lasting impression. While it lacks extensive replay value once every puzzle has been solved, the quality of its level design ensures that the initial journey remains memorable from beginning to end. Ultimately, Euclidean Skies succeeds because of its confidence in its own ideas. It combines tactical gameplay, environmental manipulation, and striking visual design into a cohesive package that feels refreshingly original. Miro Straka has crafted a game that challenges spatial awareness and strategic thinking without sacrificing accessibility or charm. Though its later stages may test the patience of less experienced players, the experience as a whole stands as an excellent example of puzzle design done right. Rating: 7/10
fun, difficult
The game has unique puzzle mechanics that work well. The puzzles aren't overly complex to the point they are impossible. Most of them can be solved within the move limit by intuitively moving the blocks until you get it in a workable place & I never had a eureka moment in solving the puzzle. The controls work fine & I have no idea what other people are talking about when they say the controls are confusing. When you click & hold on a block, the game clearly shows which directions you can drag it. Maybe the dev added that after the reviews. There are issues with bugs which are fairly frequent but they aren't game breaking. There are issues where blocks will moves through things they aren't supposed to & I even had a bug where the enemies got stuck in mid air. Sometimes it can mess up the configuration & you have to restart the level to fix it.
The idea of the game is nice and provides many interesting puzzles. There are bugs and quality of life issues.
It's a nice rubix cube looking game, even though it's nothing rubix cube like. Almost all puzzles require some thought before acting, which I find pretty nice, since most puzzle games now can be solved with just acting and none of the thinking. I find it a shame that there is no copy but also not a copy of this game. If anyone knows a game that is very similar to this without it being the same game, then please do let me know :D
