Don't recommend. Chapter 3 is super bugged and I restarted the chapter/reset my save so many times I lost count and it still didn't work. Super frustrating. Updated review: I'm still not sure I recommend this game, but I did manage to figure out the bug I was experiencing in Chapter 3 with the potions. I think it may be less a bug and more user confusion. I wish the instructions had been easier to understand. Putting the crystals in the vials in the opposite order from what I expected seems to have done the trick for me. If you're OK with some trial and error and looking for something quick with puzzles/hidden objects you might enjoy this game. I'm not sure it's worth the $5 though as the game can be completed in a little over an hour if you are quick.
Bardzo fajnie gra i przyjemnie na klasykę. Plus: - stare gra klasyka - proste zagadki - dobra grafika - wciąż działa gra na stare grę - krótka gra max 30 min lub 1 godzinę Minus: - malutkie błędny ostanie misję - brak napisy polskie Ocena 7/10
I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay. After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like. Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends. Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together. Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that. Thank you.

Essentially an escape adventure game, “Escape the Past” consists of four scenarios that you need to resolve to leave an unknown island where your main protagonist became stranded. Game consists of static hand-drawn-styled screens where you need to pick objects and uncover clues, which you then use to solve puzzles that unlock your way forward. Music, though somewhat subdued, is good and fits the scenes well; graphics have a nice touch, but the problem is that some corners are quite dark and it can be difficult to spot the objects to interact with. The game is quite short, each stage will likely take less than 10 minutes to solve for experienced players, and the story you can only piece together from found text scraps, giving the impression that it almost doesn’t matter at all. Still, the game plays well, and it’s available for a reasonable price (plus has trading cards for those who care), so it can be recommended to players who like this type of adventure games.
This is a good game for those who love short games with easy achievements. I didn't experience any bugs and was fun to play. 8/10
Left the iron on, still beat it. Shirt looks like a waffle now, worth it. Puzzles solved by steam power, story hits harder than grandma’s slipper. Would thumb up my own forehead if Steam let me.
Escape The Past, developed by 3DDUO and published by Fun4Family and Plug In Digital, is a quiet, surreal point-and-click adventure that places atmosphere and symbolism above complexity or challenge. While it initially presents itself as a traditional escape-style puzzle game, it quickly reveals a more introspective direction, using its environments and mechanics as a way to explore memory, identity, and personal reflection rather than simply testing problem-solving skills. The game begins with a simple premise: you are stranded on an unfamiliar island and must find a way to leave. However, as you explore, it becomes apparent that this is not just a physical escape, but a psychological one. Scattered throughout the environment are fragments of a letter and other subtle clues that gradually reveal pieces of the protagonist’s past. These elements are not presented in a direct or linear fashion, encouraging players to interpret their meaning rather than simply follow a clearly defined narrative. This approach gives the story a sense of mystery, though it also means that much of its emotional impact depends on how much the player is willing to engage with its abstract presentation. Gameplay follows a familiar point-and-click structure. Players move through different areas, interact with objects, and solve puzzles to unlock new paths. The puzzles themselves are generally straightforward, focusing on observation and basic logic rather than layered mechanics or complex systems. This makes the game accessible and easy to progress through, even for players who are not experienced with the genre. At the same time, the lack of challenge can make the experience feel somewhat shallow, particularly for those who are looking for more demanding or inventive puzzle design. What distinguishes Escape The Past is its atmosphere. The environments have a dreamlike quality, often feeling disconnected from conventional logic. Transitions between areas can be abrupt, and the layout of the world sometimes defies clear explanation, creating a sense of disorientation that aligns with the game’s themes. This surreal design gives the experience a unique tone, somewhere between calm and unsettling, as if the player is navigating a space shaped by memory rather than reality. Visually, the game adopts a simple 3D style that prioritizes clarity over detail. The environments are clean and easy to read, ensuring that interactive elements are easy to identify, but they lack the depth and polish of more modern adventure titles. This simplicity works in maintaining focus on the puzzles and exploration, though it also limits the game’s visual impact. The presentation feels functional, supporting the experience without elevating it. The pacing is deliberately relaxed, with no time constraints or pressure placed on the player. This allows for a more contemplative experience, where players can explore at their own speed and take time to absorb the atmosphere. However, this lack of urgency also means that the game rarely builds momentum. Without moments of tension or escalation, the experience can feel flat, especially as the gameplay remains consistent from start to finish. One of the game’s main limitations is its lack of evolution. While the initial concept is intriguing, the mechanics and puzzles do not expand significantly as the game progresses. The experience remains largely the same throughout, which can lead to a sense of repetition. The narrative elements, while interesting, are not developed deeply enough to fully compensate for this, leaving the overall experience feeling somewhat brief and limited in scope. Despite these shortcomings, Escape The Past offers a distinct and thoughtful experience for players who appreciate slower, more reflective games. It does not aim to challenge or overwhelm, but rather to create a space where players can engage with its ideas at their own pace. Its simplicity can be both a strength and a weakness, depending on what the player is looking for. In the end, Escape The Past is best approached as a short, atmospheric journey rather than a fully developed puzzle adventure. It provides a calm and occasionally intriguing experience that stands out through its tone and concept, even if it does not fully realize its potential. Rating: 6/10
