Escape The Past

"Escape The Past" ist ein kleines englischsprachiges Point-and-Click-Adventure. Irgendwie sind wir auf einer Insel gestrandet. Weshalb und wieso ist nur bedingt relevant, denn eine einigermaßen konsistente Geschichte würde gar nicht in die sehr geringe Spielzeit passen. Die vier Episoden dürfte man wohl in einer halben Stunde durch haben. Insgesamt eine halbe Stunde, nicht etwa für jede Episode. Das liegt auch daran, daß das Spielchen sehr einfach ist und kaum Herausforderungen bietet. Die Rätsel sind zwar in sich relativ logisch, fügen sich aber überhaupt nicht konsistent in die Geschichte oder die Situation ein. Hier wurden einfach nur irgendwelche Rätsel durch eine belanglosen Geschichte kombiniert. Technisch ist das Game in Ordnung. Grafik und Sound sind durchschnittlich, aber recht nett. Die Mechaniken funktionieren größtenteils. Und das ist denn auch das ganze Spiel: ein paar leichte Rätsel in einer recht netten Umgebung zu einem relativ günstigen Preis. Short, what started out intriguing eventually ended with me feeling frustrated and irritated. It reminded me at times of the worst parts of old point and click adventure games. The art was well drawn, but the interact-able items are poorly indicated, so you end up wandering around clicking all over the screen to pick things up. It's easy to miss items of importance that can be small and hidden. There is no meaningful audio or music. The in game text does not well sign post the next step, and I solved a few puzzles by randomly clicking without understanding how I even reached the right answer. The story was not well fleshed out; interesting visuals and a intriguing kernel of a premise did not culminate in a satisfying resolution. I really love escape games, and I would say this is not worth your time.

simple game. very short. art is ok. there is no story telling or any voice acting or anything. you just need to "escape" the place you are at by clicking around and find A to do B. there are 4 "chapters" which can be beaten in less than an hour i actually enjoyed it. i recommend it 5/10 for the game +1 for the cards =6/10
