About

Death is not the end. It’s the first card in your deck.
In Escape Ruin, you awaken in a dark limbo realm where lost souls battle endlessly for a second chance at existence. Ancient, twisted Gods rule these shifting lands, feeding on the desperate and the fallen.
To escape this place, you must fight — not for glory, not for memory, but for your soul’s freedom.
Each run begins the moment you awaken in the Ruin. Build your deck from fragments of your soul, adapt to new threats, and forge powerful synergies as you carve a path toward escape.
Every attempt is different.
Every defeat reshapes you.
Every victory steals back a piece of your fate.
Malformed deities — born from fear, corruption, war, and despair — command hordes of followers who hunt wandering souls.
Surviving their domains is rare.
Defying them is almost unthinkable.
But the Ruin is full of temptation.
Each God offers forbidden power to those willing to bend the knee:
Accept their gifts to gain devastating abilities
Or reject them to keep your soul untouched
Power comes with a price…
And every choice adds a new layer to your deck — for better or worse.
Your deck is your will.
Your decisions shape your path.
Your strategies determine whether you break free of the Ruin…
Or join the countless souls that failed before you.
Build your deck. Defy the Gods. Escape the Ruin — if it doesn’t consume you first.

Reviews
This game is 100% the most bare-bones it will ever be at this time. The game barely functions as it is, tells you almost no information, keywords you will have to imagine for yourself. You can draft "attack" (which is basic strike from Slay the Spire) as a card reward. Escape Ruin will need a long time to cook to be worth even close to the $9 asking price.
Although, it is still in early access, Escape Ruin has an engaging loop with interesting mechanics, a good number of different cards, relics and items as well as some difficult encounters that can keep you on your toes. The game has its own art style with a unique charm in it, a voice narrator for the many events that the player can come across during a run and a promising dark fantasy world with its secrets and mysteries. And while it's rough on the edges, you can notice the love and work that the development team has poured in its craft so far and be assured that once it is fully released, this project will provide a good and fun experience for anyone that loves roguelite card games.
It has a lot of potential and a strong foundation to build on. I like the aesthetic part and the music sets the perfect mood. voice acting adds a lot of personality and immersion. Some of the mechanics really stood out to me such as the lairs were you can go deeper and push your luck or just play safe. Sanctity mechanics is a great idea but i would like to see more of it. Overall, it’s a promising project with great ideas, and I’m excited to see how it develops further.
