[h1]Today's the day, we Escape Purgatory.[/h1] I have been watching this project being born over the course of a year or more now, and I can't believe we're finally here. Throw back the days of recording audio, to testing new terrain, even to trying to break the game over and over, the official early access release is here on steam, and here to stay. [u][b]REVIEW[/b][/u] If you are looking for a thrill seeking, puzzle grabbing, survival runner, then Escape Purgatory is perfect for you and this Halloween. I have put over 6 hours into just play testing this map, with plenty more to come with continuing updates and I can assure you that every year EP will get even better. Until then Jammers! ⭐[b]Edit 10/30/22:[/b] [u][b]Halloween Update[/b][/u] I had a blast seeing the beautiful lights and bloom from all the new pumpkins added around the map! Not only that but also Jerry's (Un-official name of the black figure) new mask is pretty awesome! Always great to see new updates like this especially so newly after launch! Not only was there new Halloween props added but the quality of life updates with the more comprehensive UI showing when you used an item, as well as a counter showing the amount of totems left to light. Can't wait to see what you guys create next! Hope to see you on Thanksgiving and/or Christmas! ⭐[b]Edit 11/4/24:[/b] [u][b]Halloween Update[/b][/u] The progression this game has seen supersedes its previous self 10 fold. The bounds and leaps are insurmountable and I can't be happier to say it. This Halloween has been the biggest update to date including an in-depth survival game mode, and cosmetics! If there is 1 game to spend a couple bucks on while the sale is hot, its Escape Purgatory! ♥ Can't wait for the next one! See you next year? 👀

Are you a gamer? Love video games? Love thrilling and suspenseful horror? Then this is the only game you will ever need to play ever again.

I don't normally like to play horror games and actually tend to avoid them. I did give this one a shot because it was pretty inexpensive and looked interesting. If you are someone that likes the thrill of scary games - THIS one will do the trick. It has a simple and easy to understand concept. The game is not hard to figure out and keeps you feeling like you are making progress. It does an amazing job of keeping you feeling frightened without the need for jump-scares. Games that depend on loud sound and jump-scares feel cheap and are an easy way to make the player frightened. This game keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time you are trying to escape. At the time of writing, this game is still in Early Access and the bugs do show. There are a few time where things looked like they may get suck. The large beast that will follow you can get stuck in the gate and can hurt your ability to progress. But that is about the only bug I saw while playing. At the end this is a GOOD, SIMPLE, SCARY, and INEXPENSIVE game. It's worth the space in your Steam library. I say give it a try! I am excited to see what is in store for the new game mode!

Escape Purgatory (EP) is an awesome and challenging game. You are really pushed to be strategic and intentional with how you navigate the realm, and how you engage with the things you find within it. I've literally sat alongside the developers as they worked on the game and it still took me over an hour to escape. :3 You won't regret purchasing Escape Purgatory (EP)! Will you be able to escape? That's up to you....

A fun and spooky puzzle game that had me stumped at times and jumping out of my chair for other! Sincerely very fun. If you're a fan of FP survival games you'll plug into this pretty naturally. It took me several playthroughs to figure it out and it was really satisfying to finally solve. I found myself starting right back up after failed attempts initially and after getting the hang of it, I'd catch myself contemplating things I might have overlooked--even when offline. Excited for the potential of future puzzles. gg

Super fun game!

It's crazy how far this game has come! There's a little something for everyone in here. Whether you're a fan of story driven puzzle solving, or final stand survival facing off against endless hordes, this game has it. With there even being the potential for speed runs and pacifist playthroughs, there's a bunch of different ways you can approach and play this game. The amount of content you get for the price is crazy good too. I would highly recommend as long as you can handle a few jump scares! ;)
