Wonderful game! Interesting plot, very different from other horse games. I loved it. Can't wait for other chapters. Complex level up, beautiful horses. However, MMO activities are lacking. But there is still a lot to do in the game. Definitely recommend it. PS: if you have trouble with black screen, just reduce FPS rate to 60.
I bought this game during beta, and I was pretty disappointed. The story ended really abruptly, there were no cutscenes, and overall it felt like I was playing a game that was still very early in development. I know it was in beta , but I still expected a more complete experience. The graphics were also underwhelming, especially for an Unreal Engine 5 game. I think they could definitely do better. The riding feels a little awkward too, it almost seems like more time was spent animating the horses than the characters. The town also feels a bit uncanny. A lot of the buildings look like they were just placed there without much detail, a lot like a bought decal. But, I don't think the game deserves a bad rating. The reason I waited so long to write this review was because I wanted to see where it was headed, and so far it seems like the developers are making progress. They've been adding more story content and improving the game overall, which is nice to see. Overall, I think the game has a lot of potential, but I would only recommend it if you're okay with an unfinished game and want to support its development. If you're looking for a well developed game with a longer story, I'd wait until more content has been added. :3 6/10
Straight up one of the best games. The team is amazing and extremely responsive, they help however they can and I love a company that cares for their players! Shoutout to John at Blue Scarab for being so legendary in helping me with a bug! The gameplay is really well done, I've already finished the main quest and anxiously await updates to know what happens next. There's also a lovely sense of community, you ride around other players and everyone is so kind to assist new players when they ask questions. And seeing everyone's customisation is so adorable! I highly recommend this game, especially for those with a love of scenery, mystery and horses (obviously)
I gotta say, this is a rather enjoyable game. I wasn't expecting much, but I got five hours in and I only completed chapter one and some of chapter two. The game gives ample amounts to do so I don't just finish the whole story in two hours and wanting more. I was able to potter along and feel content without feeling rushed to do different things. The map is wonderful and provides some unique places to explore. I enjoy the spooky vibe to it, and I'm loving the folklore horror aspect to it, as a personal fan to the genre. I haven't gotten far in, but I love the relaxed state of the horror qualities. It's not overwhelming and is largly aesthetic (not a bad thing), which means it won't leave you with nightmares, but is engaging nontheless. I heard in it's early access form, it was lacking a bit, so I held back at the time, but one year later it's doing pretty well. There are only three things I really have a pickle with: - I can personally do with limited graphics with really good voice acting, and the voice acting is a little weaker. It's not horrible, just weaker. This leads to scenes becoming too quickly paced at times because theres not heaps of time to linger on the content the characters are talking about. Pacing, as an extention of this, during cutscenes is a little weaker. I recomed leaning into phycological horror a little, as this seems that it will match the tone of the story. - The horse care animations and interactions could be extended on. Not much more to say, just something I noticed. - The horses aren't as involved as I thought they would be. I'm personally not missing out on heaps because I GET IN on a muder mystery/horror (this is the first time I've consumed it in game format). From what I see, there are a lot of improvements coming to horses, which I'm excited about. Having these various mechanics gives us players something to savour while we're exploring the world and solving these mysteries. I don't want to make it seem like I'm critical of this game in it's entirity, because It's an indie game thats got a lot of ambition. I really think this game could be something special, and my goodness the lack of intense amounts of micro-transactions is such a breath of fresh air. When I have that extra money, I will absolutely be buying the lifetime pass, and be happy to sneak in some more puchases every once in a while to support this game, because I believe it can be something special, and I am an adult with adult money. I think the only thing that I genuinely care about criticising is the voice acting/pacing in the cutscenes, because of how narrative-driven this game is. But besides all that I'm really enjoying the narrative. Overall, I'm so keen to see where this game goes. I would recomend this game to anyone who loves a muder mystery/horror story that isn't overwhelmingly intense, exploring foresty environments and the loves the aesthetics of horses.
Tolles Spiel! Auf sowas haben meine Freundin und ich lange gewartet. Ein Multiplayer Pferde MMO. Wirklich schön gemacht mit hübscher Grafik, hammer Story und regelmäßigen Updates. Sehr zu empfehlen.
The game isn't done yet. It's super clunky and the Cosmetic things you can buy with REAL money are just linking to another cashgrab mmo. At least make the base game for free.
macht schon spass könnte was werden :-)
Its a great relaxing game for people who want a cozy horse game. It is a dark mystery game so there will be some darker sides to the story but all in all, I'm genuinely enjoying the game. 10/10 recommend if you enjoy grinding for gear and taking care of horses while trying to solve multiple mysteries.
Equinox: Homecoming is an exceptionally atmospheric and beautifully crafted experience, and one that has left a very strong impression on me. From the very beginning, the game creates a sense of mystery and quiet enchantment that immediately draws you in. There is something wonderfully immersive about its world: it feels thoughtful, intimate, and carefully designed, with a tone that is both cosy and unsettling in the best possible way. What I particularly admire about Equinox: Homecoming is the way it balances emotional storytelling with exploration and intrigue. It does not feel rushed or superficial; instead, it allows the player to become absorbed in the atmosphere, the details, and the gradual unfolding of its narrative. The writing has a lovely sense of sincerity, and the game manages to feel personal without ever becoming overly sentimental. There is a genuine charm to it, as though every element has been placed with care and purpose. The mood of the game is one of its greatest strengths. It has that rare quality of feeling comforting and haunting at the same time, which makes the experience memorable long after one has stopped playing. The sense of discovery is also very rewarding, and I found myself wanting to pay attention to every small detail, not merely to progress, but because the world itself felt worth spending time in. Overall, Equinox: Homecoming is a remarkably promising and deeply engaging game. It is clear that a great deal of heart, imagination, and dedication has gone into creating it. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys story-rich, atmospheric games with emotional depth, mystery, and a distinctive sense of place. It is elegant, intriguing, and genuinely captivating — and I am very much looking forward to seeing more from it.
