I was excited for this game at first. there was so much potential, but I'm finding myself not wanting to play anymore - they used ai before and tried to blame it on others instead of taking accountability - the ceo, colin, comes across as unable to take constructive criticism. he's gone back on his word with things related to the game multiple times - the only "events" they hold are sad decor and you post a picture in the discord server. there's nothing to do in game - speaking of pictures there's no photo mode. you know, the thing that makes it easier for people to share the game and be like "look at this! this is fun! you should play it!" - the cosmetics aren't good. everyone dresses the same because there's only so many items you can buy with silver (the free currency). all the hats change your character's hair style - speaking of hair, the colors aren't well done. the only color that looks as it should is black. dark brown isn't dark, the blondes are more brown, the white hair is more grey, etc. - the horses aren't complete. they said it themselves. why leave EA if they're not ready? - the only new cosmetics released since EA are ones that cost gold adlers. the premium currency which you can earn little each week or just use IRL money to get - your horse can't step up or down a tiny stone. it stops you in your tracks - once you finish the main quest, there's little to do. weeklies? you need 15 of this and that and oh that too, etc. I don't want to spend hours collecting resources just for 1.5 hours of gameplay each week - it's clear they don't test the update before sending it. each update there's a whole list of bugs that easily could've been avoided - crown chase is fun at first, but it becomes boring quickly. I would do chores for the 5 minutes I spend afking instead of actually playing until I bought what I wanted from the shop - it's very clear that this is a wannabe sso game but for adults. I wish the game took a different direction because I don't want another sso with more bugs, less things to do, unfinished horses, etc - my laptop handles rdr2 graphics better than this game which says a lot by itself
Sounds like a dream game. But the game is badly optimized, a lot of bugs (for example the first quest getting equiped i think the name is, didnt even showed on map where i should deliver the packages so i had to check youtube for that lol). Beautiful scenery, BUT sometimes the lighting doesnt suit the angle of the camera. FPS stutters the whole time, can go from 140fps to 40 in a second and climb back up. Some textures dont even load (hay in the stall, its just missing texture but in gray), some npcs like the horses have hooves in the ground. Hair and mane wierdly flows sometimes. when a mini cutscene play where you talk to npcs, my character and the horse just falls from a small height. Other than that, great idea i can see some sso stuff which is nice. Thought the game would be alot better since the developers are from famous good games. Do i recommend? 50/50 If you dont mind the stutters, bugs and visual stuff then yeah, but sometimes it does look good. The cutscenes, horse models and mocap is spot on and the story is thrilling and catchy. But if you also want the game to look good and have good performance and peace playing it without any stuff that looks bad and annoy you then no. Would probably wait until they fix it. IF they fix it lol. Cant believe it had 7mil budget.
This game is so refreshing because its not your typical horse game. Its not just caring, riding, training, showing, unlocking more horses and coats etc. Its got a storyline. The storyline is very dark and mature so it is definitely a different type of horse game and for that I am hooked. The devs actively update and actually listen to the community which nowadays i feel is rare. The animations are quite solid and I am obsessed with the horse sound effects. The quests and the cutscenes are great too. Can't wait for future updates. <3
I cant lie, I brought this game ages ago as a horse game to play, the game looked so good in terms of realism in the horses. However. Its ♥♥♥♥, is the honast words. The story concept behind it is great, however as a horse game its really really naf, the horses just feel like a car, get from point a to point b. This has so much potential to be a really good horse game, however thats just gone down the drain. The horses feel so lifeless, the animations feel really odd and same with the riders seat. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone that wants a horse game, if u want a horror with horses, cool, great for u. But if u want an actual horse game with decent plot, do not buy this, iv tried to refund the game but its beyond the timeframe. This game would be soo good if the horses felt alive, if they had diff personality's and consequences for not taking care of them, actual things to do like mucking out, brushing, properly feeding, your normal horsie jobs, but they just feel so lifeless. For the 3rd time DO NOT BUY THIS GAME IF YOU WANT A HORSE GAME Red dead redemption is a better horse game than this, and it's not even designed to be a horse game
As of right now I cannot recommend this game. I honestly feel like I got lied to and am glad I bought it on sale and not full price. As a full disclaimer, I played this game with chat closed and other riders hidden. I have no interest the multiplayer aspect. Even though it is in full release, it feels very early access still. Some Animations don't play all the way through (dismounting etc), some cutscenes are buggy (opening scene and several others played both VA's for male and female at the same time, some scenes lagged and then skipped all together) and some animations feel like place holders (the horrendous trot animation). The story is good, but there are definitely parts that feel a little disjointed and it feels like a quest in between or a cutscene are missing. Especially some of the back to the barn quests that jolt into a scene or feel like they jolt halfway into it, making you feel like you've missed some dialogue or something. The story is also UNFINISHED. Which vexed me considerably. This game is not in early access, it is in full release, meaning the story should be fully accessable. No where was advertised that the story was incomplete. I have yet to find an ETA for the next chapter. Additionally, you get to name your character but in all the quests, spoken and written, your name is never actually used. They all call you Alex, regardless of what name you give yourself. An aspect I am unsure is intentional or if it just a placeholder name. The upgrading of gear feels odd, using flowers or mushrooms to upgrade clothing or tack feels strange. I would prefer just using currency for this. The stats also don't seem to matter unless you're competing against the other players. Horse care being optional is strange considering the bond with our horse is supposed to be important to the story, but with the care being optional, the horse ends up feeling like a lifeless bike you just get from point a to point b with. I do like there's no breeding and additional horse availability is limited, forcing you keep the same horse for much of the story. This gives your horse more meaning, more games need to do this rather then be a horse collector game. I do like the graphics and music. It sets the right tone and ambience and adds to general creepiness for certain scenes. I had no issues running this game on max graphics. The game itself didn't lag but some cutscenes were stilted on some occasions. TLDR: Story not finished animations not finished upgrading gear is illogical horse care is optional Game is in full release but should still be in EA. I will revisit this game when the story is fully released and change this review if needed.
at the begining stages of this game, i wouldn't recommend. but now, i absloulty do. its a beautiful game, still in progress, wonderful community, rider is still a little wonky, controls can be a little wonky. but abslouly playable
To put it short: I'm definitely having a lot of fun playing this game despite the flaws. The premise of the story is really fascinating and the world feels so calming. Even with microtransactions in the game, you don't feel pressured to spend more money. The only downside I'd say is that the game definitely isn't the most polished. The world feels empty, the NPCs are like statues and gathering of materials (which is needed for almost everything) is quite a pain. However, I still find myself having a blast with the story and horses. The team, while small, is very receptive and active in the community. Don't be surprised to see the ceo chatting away in global chat. I see lots of potential with this game and am excited to join the journey.
I was forced to play. No train robbing cant play as John Marston
Well, I had high hopes. This game has recieved a lot of positive reviews lately and I thought to myself, heck I'll try it. Turns out that if you tried the demo, your demo character and horse is imported to the main game and it's impossible to remove or start over. The game stutters and lags like crazy even through cut scenes, and I have a somewhat high end rig. It's unfortunately very badly optimized. It's beautiful though, but the overall feeling is just vast emptiness. Like, it's just a gorgeous world but there's nothing in it, the NPC's are stationary placeholders and apparently work around the clock in their little stores, there's no wildlife even though you basically roam the forests, no cars on the roads, no NPC's walking around. The starting horse is too skinny, basically just a sack of bones that Alex rides around on and it just feels sad and off. Overall feeling is sad and off to be honest. And it's too bad, beacuse this really could've been a horse game that's worth pouring hours into, but it's not worth the money I paid for it, even when I got it on sale. Refunded.
Wonderful game! Interesting plot, very different from other horse games. I loved it. Can't wait for other chapters. Complex level up, beautiful horses. However, MMO activities are lacking. But there is still a lot to do in the game. Definitely recommend it. PS: if you have trouble with black screen, just reduce FPS rate to 60.
