---- INITIAL LOOK ----
CRASH COUNT: 7 Pay to win?: Absolutely! A glorified mobile game from china, complete with auto pathing to every objective and monster you have to kill. Upon 1 hour of gameplay, nothing stands out to signify that this is worth investing too much time into, its just auto path and push random buttons until everything dies. There is a very strange and kind of creepy "charisma" interface built in as one of the games systems that sets it apart from other theme park mmorpg's. You can upload pictures of yourself and gain charisma points for people liking your photo or sending you gifts. You just click the charisma button and you can sort by ranking of people with weekly, monthly, and all time highest charisma points, and double clicking will zoom in on their photo and allow you to drag it around the screen for some reason. Needless to say this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weird and unsettling, I'm sure there's some kind of point to this system but it's beyond me. After typing this, I just saw someone linking to their photo album in the world chat as well, so you can click the link and see their photos. but WHY It's worth mentioning that I am BLAZING through levels due to "Newcomer Status"; a buff that gives you 166% experience for your first 15 days of playing. Not only that, but you can also get +15% extra from a guild blessing. Why the devs want your first experience to be reaching max level in less than 20 hours, I don't know... But it's there. List of sound effects that came straight from WoW - all boar sound effects, all wolf sound effects, inventory opening and closing, priests attacks feature a combo of the healing sound effect and attacks hitting WoW priest shield or mana shield (That ones kind of clever I guess.. ) and your spells with a cast time have the same casting sound effect. I'm not 100% certain but the music that loops over and over in the first zone sounds like it has bits of stormwind music or elwynn forest music, all spider sounds, all raptor sound effects, theres a quest where you have to blow a horn, horn sound effect came from WoW. One of my abilities apparantly has the map discovery sound effect from WoW, and I have now heard the channeling sound effect for portals/warlock spells. Quest abandon sound effect is the same. I heard the blessing sound effect, not sure where as I was writing down below when I heard it. Zombies take the ghoul sound effects.
---- POST LEVEL 10 ----
Pet NPC's are indicated by an icon of a spiked collar with a bell, however, the vast majority of "pets" in this game seem to be lolis. Creep factor is intensifying still. List of macros I've seen in world chat where people want you to like their pictures - -Time is fleeting, beauty is eternal!! <album> <3 <3 -Let my sense of style light your day!!! <333 <album> -Want to see something stunning? Say no more!! <album> -Like? <album> ---^ | # This one is by far the creepiest. When you open his album, you see a picture of him staring blank faced directly into the camera, while his daughter (i hope) is sitting in his lap, awkwardly looking down because she obviously does not want to be taking this weird picture for random people on the internet to see.
---- UPDATE ON PROGRESS ----
I am now level 30 (after only 2 hours) and I still have no idea what my spells do. Combat remains to be mash random buttons and everything dies. As it was at level 1 !! Literally like an hour later and I am level 40. It has just ocured to me that the same music loops over and over and over no matter what area you are in. If you decide to give the game a shot, do yourself a favor and mute the music after an hour. 5 hours in and I have reached level 50. I decided to look at my skills for the first time since I encountered a completely overpowered quest mob. Why I can solo lvl 45 elite mobs, but get slaughtered by a lvl 42 quest mob 3 times.. I'm not really sure. Anyways, now is a good time to explain the way your skills work in this game.
---- SPELLS AND ABILITIES ----
Each class has 2 specializations. Each spec will give you a passive bonus, determine which ultimate ability you have equipped, and determine what "Awakened Mode"(more on that in a bit) abilities you get but they will not affect what basic, runic, and passive abilities you have. You have 4 slots for "basic" abilities. Each basic ability slot has 4 different abilities you can choose from as you unlock them, that comes to a total of 16 basic abilities. Next, you have 3 "rune" ability slots. For each slot, you can choose 1 out of a pool of 18 different abilities and on top of that you can morph each ability with 1 of 5 different runes that have varying effects. After your runic abilities is the "Extra" ability. You have a choice between 2, that's it there. And finally, you have passive abilities. You have 4 slots and you can choose from 17 different passive abilities. Now with all that covered, you have your "Awakened" mode and your ultimate ability. You have an energy meter that will fill up over time (pretty quickly) and once it's full, you can enter awakened mode which will switch your basic ability bar for your awakened ability bar. These spells (And your ultimate which can be used whether awakened or not) are determined by your specialization. That pretty much covers spells and abilities, all in all you have decent customization. The game finally earns 1 point! I am taking that point away though, because I have been wearing different color variations of the same armor for the entire game.
---- POST LEVEL 50 ----
I have just purchased a fine plot of player housing. Upon entering my massive but empty house, I am greeted with a few options. I can choose to furnish my newfound home, make a wish, OR make sacrifices to the gods. Why venture to the capital city to make sacrifices in the presence of prying eyes, when you could just do it from the relative comfort of your own empty beach villa! Home sweet home. I have now figured out how to upload pictures so now I am currently awaiting validation of my Danny DeVito picture. Fingers crossed! EDIT: The devs have accepted my photo! Go give me some gifts!
---- CASH SHOP ----
While looking around the in-game shop I noticed that the most expensive items are 9999 "elirs". The only way to get this much in-game currency is to spend 200 USD. So, what will 200 USD net you in Eternal Magic? Well for one, you could buy the only 2-seater mount in the game, a deer. You could also buy crystal slippers/tuxedo (for girls/boys respectively) which you can then gift to someone else to increase their charm by 5000. Why would you want to do this? ♥♥♥♥ if I know but it's in the game. [strike]Nothing seems obviously pay to win[/strike], I'm not 100% certain though because you CAN buy an extra spell "scheme"(Think of it like an extra loadout), with which you can switch between 2 that you make. Say I want strictly healing in one scheme and damaging abilities in another scheme, I could do that on my priest. IF this can be done instantly and IF this can be done in combat, I would consider it pay to win but more research is required. EDIT: You can buy "cosmetic" outfits that grant you extra stats, that is pay to win.
---- FINAL VERDICT ----
So, is it worth it? No, absolutely not. I wanted to make it to max lvl at least but... I can't. What set me off is that when you click "Exit Game", a window pops up advertising their new "Premium" service. You really have to hit esc-Exit Game TWICE just to exit the game UNLESS you are a premium member. Really? That aside, playing through this game is a massive chore. Yes, you're leveling fast but the entire experience is just clicking the auto path button, and then mashing 1-4 on your keyboard. You'd be better off playing anything else on steam in my opinion. I'm just relieved to be free of this games curse. I played it so you don't have to!

After 135 hours and trying in-depth three classes, there was more that decided me not to continue to play than there were reasons to continue. DUNGEONS: All through the standard instances, through the heroic instances and the first two chaotic instances, I found the max-lvl players dominate the field and determine the gameplay. Even at lvl68, I did almost nothing but hang on and run to catch up to lvl70 players who killed only bosses in about one minute or less. I never felt I contributed anything to the fight. PETS: Pets are an essential part of the game play, but you'd never know that from the tutorials or quests. Although they are extremely easy and cheap to purchase or earn (in fact, one is given to you early on and levels automatically throughout the game, and another is a relatively inexpensive store-bought item), the development of a 'great' pet is so RNG-dependent that it can cost hundreds of $ in real money or hundreds of hours in time with a success rate that seems well under 5%. As an example, a hybrid-pet with a 1700 attack power potential and 4 skills could cost well over $100 of trial and error, and still not be a certainty. GEAR and ENHANCEMENT: You are misled by the first 60 levels in thinking that gear drops from trees and can be upgraded for free, and that later with a mentor in tow, you can be given rather exceptional gear for free. In truth, between lvl60 and lvl70 you become aware that there are half a dozen subsystems at work (cards, spirit, totems, runes, etc.) all of which are grind or RNG based, all with very low success rates, and none with any clear explanation as to what they benefit. The potential differences between lvl-70 players is vast; and if you are committed to the weeks or months to close that gap, that's great news. But if you find yourself at lvl 70 doing 1/10th or 1/20th of the DPS of another lvl 70 of the same class, that can be disheartening not incentivizing. LASTLY GAMEPLAY, Lvl1 to Lvl60: You kill stuff --- that's it. And killing stuff is very, very easy. You autopath to quests and mobs, you are given an F-key that can be spammed to cycle through appropriate skills, and as mentioned, you'd be lucky to even see a boss fight in an instance as you run to catch up to the lvl70 who has raced ahead to complete the instance in record time. FINAL OPINION: If you strictly avoid the P2W aspects of the game, you'll find playing 3 or 4 different classes to level 60 can be very enjoyable. But be aware, that to be a good player at level 70 can be months in the future --- and probably far from F2P.
Looks like a mobile game. Plays like a mobile game. Wants to milk your money like a mobile game. It's a garbage game.
a perfect example of what gaming has become these days you just click a dialogue in the middle of the screen and your character runs automatically to your quest mob and you can spam your standart attack till its dead repeat this a million times and you are max lvl in 2 or 3 days my question is why should we go all the way why dont you make an action game where every one is already max lvl and has all skills from start and in the middle of the map is a big red button with the words you win you just have to jump on to kill every enemy in sight even bosses btw everything in this game is stolen from other games everything im not kidding you will notice this in the first 5 minutes my advise to devs is instead of trying to make milk machines like this trash here make a own real new mmo or just let it be thx my advise to players go play tera or rift or just get a cheap 30 days wow playtime card and play wow classic everything is better then this if all these guy who make such trash mmos would come toghter they could do something good maybe but instead they waste there and our time with such nonsense watching this trend for a few years now hurts a bunch i really mean it im a gamer for life my keyboard is my bible but gaming is not what it was anymore
It's free to play and worth every penny. I only played it for an hour but in that time it was obvious it was P2W, gameplay is infuriatingly simplistic (you pretty much just auto-run from one quest to the next as you accept them), graphics & sound are meh - they'd maybe have been okay 5 years ago, loli pets (obviously you can pay to buy more of those!), and it installs Xigncode - which alone is enough of a reason to delete the game. If this was 2010 and you were a fan of generic Asian fantasy MMOs and didn't mind P2W then it would maybe have been okay.
This game is too easy. I hoped it would get more challenging, but got to lvl 61/70 and still way too easy. There's so many auto functions, you'd probably still be able to play if you were in a coma. I also stopped playing when I realized there's tons of items (not just cosmetic) in the game that you wouldn't be able to get without using their special currency that you can only get through spending real money, I hate that. And if you do want to spend a little money, say for a cool-looking mount, will cost you 9999 gems. If you do the math, an 8000 gem pack costs $199 and 1000 pack is $25, so it'll cost you about $250 for one. Don't invest your time unless your rich
This game has potential. It is an okay game to play. -------BUT------ A lot of auto path use but that can be good, and it can also be turned off if you want to find your own way. The major down side to this game is the cash shop. My god is it expensive!!! around $225.00 for a mount. Give me a break. Who in their right mind would even think about spending that kind of money for cosmetic anything? I thought Black Desert Online was expensive. GEEZ!!! I have a feeling that if developers don't change their greedy ways this game will be dead within a year. Kinda sad that greed kills good games like this.
This game is just not worth your time. I don't know where these positive reviews are coming from but its not good at all. Free to play (Yes) but pay to win! Want to spend a lot of money for mounts and ugly skins then this game is for you. Combat is slow, doesn't feel powerful at all. Its action combat but on the very slow side of it. Random optimization spikes. Hit boxes are wonky, you can be out of the red AoE but still get hit with it. Also A dead game, you may run into 1 or 2 players. JUST DONT DOWNLOAD IT!
The game is fun, and easy to understand. The biggest problem is that at a certain point in the game you're obligated to participate on pvp. Even if you're all for pve, when you reach level 50+ quests you'll be thrown in a pvp map and that's that. You've got no choice. PVP is broken, certain classes are way stronger than others, and you'll be smashed if you step out of safe zones. Disappointing. I had fun for a while, but certainly being killed a dozen times by guilds for no reason took the fun out of the game.
Cute graphics and ... that's all. Movement is so old fashion and attacks... Reminds me of early Browser MMORPGs... Would not recommend for experienced MMORPG players.
