Its a somewhat mindless clicking game. I liked it, you might not. That's okay. I got it because it looks sort of neat and it was cheap, nothing else. I don't know anything about "Remembrance of Earth's Past trilogy" as I've seen referenced in other reviews so take that as you will. Nothing is really explained or elaborated on anywhere I could find in-game, many buildings I placed down without any knowledge of what they would even do. Sometimes it would helpfully inform you that a building would output 200 materials or something like that, which was nice, sometimes it would tell you it would enable some policy choice which I never actually found a use for aside from needlessly slowing down research. Many times I found myself wondering "Is there any point to this building at all?" and then I would place it anyway in hopes the game would tell me what it was for or why I should care. Usually it never did, sometimes there was some funny story events related to these mystery buildings. I don't think I ever figured out the difference between an archive and a university other than the university was just better at outputting research points. Did it expand the capacity of something? Who knows? It never says so. Every single line of story in the game is incomprehensible Engrish of the finest vintage. I genuinely think GPT would have done a better job translating, or perhaps even just spamming out nonsense of its own with the prompt of "write something philosophical about starving to death in a dark pit surrounded by enemies shortly before your continent is cooked by a random sun that got too close". Some parts of the game are still in Chinese, mostly just exploration log stuff which doesn't actually matter that much. I found that funny when I saw it. What confused me the most was the references to stuff humans did on earth (lines of story that gush over how humanity did this and that and how the Manhattan project was a milestone and the solar system is called "Samsung" or IS a "Samsung" solar system?) when I was under the impression the civilization you were controlling weren't human (the young are pod born and called "pups" and starving to death seems to just desiccate them like plants), and it wasn't Earth on account of the three suns and all but perhaps there is just some insanely cool lore I did not pick up on at all. Maybe its that "Remembrance of Earth's Past trilogy", I don't know. I will protest the "fact" that there are three suns, there seems to be many many more in the failstate animation but that might just be artistic merit or something. I'm not even going to comment on how annoying it was to have most of my 'city' get cooked out of existence every few minutes because that genuinely seems to be intended design, going off the trailer. You will either like that or you will hate it. I found you could simply ignore it by being fast about insulation layers and reinforcing structures, but don't get too attached to anything directly beneath the pyramid. I mostly moved all of my important structures elsewhere. Reminded me of a newgrounds flash game with half the polish but double the fidelity and content, worth it for three dollars.
