About
Discover the next chapter of the legendary Elite saga. Elite Dangerous is the definitive massively multiplayer space epic, bringing gaming’s original 1984 open world adventure to the modern generation with a seamless, connected galaxy, a player‑shaped evolving narrative, and the entire Milky Way recreated at full galactic scale.
Against this vast backdrop, take to the stars in your own starship and do whatever it takes to survive in an ever-changing futuristic galactic sandbox. Acquire wealth and power, develop your skills and knowledge, and earn the right to stand tall among the ranks of the iconic Elite.
In an age of galactic superpowers and interstellar war, your story influences the connected experience and handcrafted evolving narrative. From discovering new worlds, to exhilarating space combat and a fully-realised economy for trade, the galaxy is waiting.

The 400-billion star systems of the Milky Way form the vast and dynamic stage for Elite Dangerous' open-ended gameplay. Constructed using real astronomical data, the stars, planets, moons, asteroid belts, and black holes of our galaxy are rendered at true galactic scale. Chart a course through star systems never before visited by other Commanders and explore the surface of strange and unfamiliar worlds with a Surface Recon Vehicle.

Over 35 distinct spacecraft are ready for you to command, from lightweight exploration vessels to gigantic behemoths ready for battle. Build a diverse collection of ships and outfit them to match your playstyle. Customise every component, weapon and optional module to enhance and alter your ships’ capabilities.

Hunt, explore, fight, mine, smuggle and trade across the galaxy. Forge your path solo or with up to three friends in a Wing. Join a Squadron full of like-minded Commanders and share the highs and lows of your interstellar adventures together.
With the System Colonisation mechanic, the power to claim and expand your very own star systems is in your hands. Whether creating a thriving new economy, a bustling trade hub, or a new port of operations, the galaxy awaits your vision.

The Elite Dangerous galaxy revolves around players’ actions. In an age of galactic superpowers and interstellar war, every player’s personal story influences the space simulation and handcrafted, evolving narrative.
Co-operate with fellow Commanders in pivotal Community Goal events that can permanently alter the state of the galaxy, earning exclusive rewards and recognition for your contribution in the process.
Align with a galactic superpower and alter the interstellar landscape with Powerplay. Support your power or undermine a rival through a variety of means, from hacking starport advertisements to attacking gigantic Stronghold Carriers. Every contribution matters.

Experience unpredictable encounters with other players in a vast, massively multiplayer space. Experience the connected galaxy alone in Solo mode or with players across the world in Open Play, where every pilot you face could become a trusted ally or your deadliest enemy.

The universe of Elite Dangerous continues to grow and expand with new features and content. Regular major updates provide new opportunities and gameplay for you to discover and change the way you play.

The game is pretty good! I played Elite on the Commodore 64 and Frontier on the Amiga 2000. Those were days. ED reminds me a lot of my younger years and has been added so much more. The universe is VAST, probably the biggest gaming world in the whole franchise. I wish this was the case for X4, Star Citizen or Starfield. ED is much much larger. Planets with atmosphere are landable but certainly you will find most of the planets are shaped in the same way. There are no real cities or civilizations on the worlds such as in Star Citizen or Starfield. All planetary outpost and starbases feel the same. I wish there were more things different when it comes to planetary exploration. The ship selection is wide although not that wide as in Star Citizen. You also cannot walk inside ships as in Star Citizen. Star Citizen is still king when it comes to ship design und realism but it is also bug king. I would love to see an ship expansion in ED as well plus the addition of NPC crew. I would love to see the devs populate planets with NPC civilization and fauna. There is so much to say about this game but overall I would give it a solid 8/10 as of today in July 2026.
Want to have fun exploring the wide open space, well then this is your game. It just takes some time to travel from places
Space, Good.
Im Spiel kann man dann entscheiden was machen will.
very gud game

>Complete tutorial, raiding a base, yadda yadda OK yeah this is kind of fun >Get dropped off, take my pilots exam >Ok a little wonky but whatever >Get told to take a mission >Take a Delivery job for another facility on the same planet; that sounds simple. >How wrong I was >Spend a half hour learning to navigate there. >Land >Accidentally run past a guard trying to scan me >Didn't even know that was a thing >Pull aggro >No obvious way to surrender. >Guard kills me >Transported to jail SEVENTY LIGHT YEARS AWAY >Have to pay half my money to get a 5-10 minute real-time shuttle ride back to my ship & complete the mission >Mission failed when I died. >Okay, Learning curve. Still needed to go back to get my ship. Whatever. >Start a second delivery mission for another planet in the system. >Try to mark my ship on the HUD so I can walk to it >"Recall ship icon" causes my ship to TAKE OFF FROM THE LANDING PAD and fly a half km away >Spend the better part of an hour getting to my ship, getting to the destination planet, flying around to the other side of the planet, and landing my ship. >In and out of jump mode, glide mode, escape vector, boosting, all that bullcrap >literally smash into the planet at a bajillion miles an hour one time >ship survives >Realism my rear end >Finally land safely >Wander around looking for this lady to whom I'm supposed to deliver a weapon schematic. >Guards and drones are harassing and scanning me every 30 seconds. >Genuinely cannot walk beyond line-of-sight with the last guard before another one wants to check me for bounties. >Trying desperately not to break the law so I can avoid getting sent back to jail 70 light years away and ending up broke. >Find an open building >go inside to use the console and look up the staff list >She's not on the list >WTF am I supposed to wander around and scan every NPC on the site >Finally break down and look up what to do on Google >"Yeah, sometimes they're just...not there; take off, fly away from the planet, and land again" >Ragequit Screw this game.
