About
A new and unconventional mix of Auto-Battler + Rhythm tapping challenges.🎵 Claim your mechanical fighter fame in this Atompunk / Electro Swing themed boxing game! Pick your nation and outfit your boxer with a variety of different punchcard abilities, league belts and robot parts of which can possess different behavioural characteristics or effect your speed, strength, endurance.
Your loyal crew stationed on the backside of your fighter will do their best to pilot and execute basic attacks. You'll be tasked to manage their input, replenish system resources, apply strategic dodges and load and activating abilities by completing light rhythm tapping challenges synced with music beats.
Components of your robot are likely to succumb to the heavy hits of your opponent and eventually break. Fortunately repairs can be applied between round breaks. So too will any crew members dazed from battle recover during a round break, restoring their role specific perks they provide (Captain, Driver, Arms or Systems).

With depletion of systems health comes a countdown, giving the downed robot 10 seconds to reboot or lose the match.
In career mode you'll navigate through a series of daily manager events that earn you resources to unlock new robot parts, robot abilities and passive crew skills.

Welcome to Emprum Stadium, host of the Electro Bop boxing league!

Supremely unfinished, Dev dropped brew barons, another unfinished game, for this and also did not finish it. I get that some devs want a change in pace but I feel like they could have spent more time on both games to give them more of a fleshed out design. The voice acting is terrible as in annoying and probably not needed as you can just read what they say. The fights are also weird to say the least. They demand a lot of attention but it gets so bad that if you miss one thing it completely ruins the fight so you MUST pay attention or fail the fight. But even then the fights are completely random. Even if you fight "harder" opponents, they don't even pose a challenge if you just close the game and reopen it. I had one guy that was destroying me in the first round but when I restarted my game he was easier than the tutorial enemy. The abilities are also not so interesting as the ones that help are just the mines and the punches. The rest are just filler. In my opinion, they should have just added this to brew barons as a DLC since they share the same art style and brew barons is also unfinished.
TLDR: Electro-Bop is fun rhythm brawler that makes it exciting to pilot and maintain your robot. The music, setting, and art all blend together to make a wonderful jab-tapping experience. It is a little rough around the edges that will hopefully be ironed out with updates, but even with those, Electro-Bop is well worth your time. So far so good with this game. The mix of rock'em sock'em robots with an electroswing soundtrack is great. The vibes here are immaculate, however there are some problems of course. Two major ones (with my experience) Is the healing beam just not pointing at your robot at all meaning the time you do have to heal your robot (which changes based on match modifiers) is wasted because the beam is facing away from your bot preventing you to heal. This is most certainly a glitch, but it happens frequently enough that it's terribly annoying. Another problem are the hot keys, they kind of don't work for me? The tutorial said I can use E for some, but that doesn't feel very reliable. Another key you can use is SPACE, but again it's not hitting on beat. The most reliable way I found was only using my mouse to click the various buttons. Overall though, this game is great, but it's a bit rough around the edges. You get your moneys worth for sure.
When I saw this game on youtube I KNEW I had to buy it. Giant clunky robots with sweet music? Sounds good. Unluckily, I got disappointed with my experience. I defeated the game in 2 hours and 30 minutes, probably could've finished it in less if I died less times. After a few matches, got the hang of it and then got a winning streak up to the final """""boss""""" I got a few points that could improve the game, or at least, work out in the sequel or next games. - More upgrades, if you want to make a rougue lite with randomized encounters, you need variety. I legit encountered maybe 3 variants of bots, and defeated all of them with the mine tactic. -More customization: Every mecha fan wants to pimp their robot and this game dosen't really let you do so. - BOSSES BOSSES BOSSES PLEASE, You can't make a bigger model with a few differences and call it a boss. I'm ok with randomized enemies, but for bosses a bit more effort would've gone a long way. -MUSIC: This is more than a nitpick of mine but the pauses in the middle of the soundtrack where there's no beat were more annoying than anything, just when you're about to get the hang of it, you have to interrupt the thing cause the music felt like it. Just annoying to deal with. -LONGER GAME: more tournaments, modes, story, ANYTHING to make it last MORE than 2 hours. Can't really recommend this game for 15$ since there are literally other games with the same prices that gave me ten times the amount of fun with ten times the lenght that kept me playing them. Still, a good idea, but not worth. I'll keep an eye on updates
Not for me. Pretty, nice vibes and fx. About it imo. It's like Shadow of the Beast with less gameplay. Ymmv, but i don't enjoy it at all.
Such a great game, it should be much more popular!
This game is rad. In an ideal world I'd love to see it expanded with 4x the parts, opponents, punch-cards and etc. But for $15 this is an absolute steal for the amount of stuff you get, the music is FANTASTIC, and the gameplay is suitably crunchy. If I have a complaint, it'd be that some of the songs cut the input windows at strange times, and as an old drummer, that screws me up like nothing else. Difficulty could be higher, and we could use more things to blow money on, match betting, etc. Also, the Beat Drone ability needs a pretty solid nerf, but these things will happen in time, and none of them detract from the overall experience. Basically, it's a super solid experience, please give it a shot if you like Monster Rancher style and/or rhythm games. Or just want to quote Rocky while punching the Russian bot's pants off.
