### Elden Ring Review: 10/10, Would Suffer Again *Elden Ring* is a fantastic game if you've ever looked at your free time and thought, “You know what? I don't actually need any of that.” FromSoftware has somehow created a beautiful, enormous fantasy world filled with breathtaking landscapes, fascinating characters, ancient ruins, terrifying monsters, and approximately 14 billion things that want you dead. And I mean **everything**. You start the game thinking, “Wow, this place is gorgeous.” Five minutes later, you're being beaten to death by a man on a horse. Then you see a giant castle in the distance and think, “Okay, surely that's where I'm supposed to go.” No. The game basically says, “You *could* go there, but have you considered wandering into the woods and getting eaten by something that has six arms?” The combat is incredible, though. Every fight feels like a carefully choreographed duel between you and an opponent who has spent the last thousand years training specifically to ruin your evening. You dodge. You attack. You get excited because the boss is almost dead. The boss suddenly pulls out a move you've never seen before and kills you. You stare at the screen. “Okay.” You try again. You die. Again. You change your strategy. You die. Again. Eventually, you defeat the boss, and the feeling of accomplishment is incredible. You feel like a gaming god. You celebrate for approximately eight seconds before walking around the next corner and getting murdered by a regular soldier. That's the *Elden Ring* experience. The open world is probably the biggest reason the game works so well. There's always something to discover, although “something to discover” frequently means “a cave containing a horrible creature that will destroy you.” The game doesn't really tell you where to go, either. It just puts a giant map in front of you and essentially says: **Good luck, idiot.** The story is equally committed to making you work for it. Characters will appear, say something like, “The ancient flame beneath the Erdtree remembers the blood of the forgotten king,” and then disappear. You stand there thinking: “...What?” Then you meet another character who speaks exclusively in riddles. At some point, you realize you've accidentally become involved in a political conflict between immortal demigods, ancient gods, cursed royalty, and possibly several people who are secretly talking to themselves. And honestly? I wouldn't have it any other way. The best part is that *Elden Ring* gives you an absurd number of ways to deal with its problems. You can use swords, spells, bows, summons, giant weapons, weird weapons, questionable weapons, or just find something on the internet that apparently kills the boss in seven seconds. And that's the beauty of it. If you're stuck, the game doesn't necessarily ask you to “get better.” It asks: **“Have you considered becoming completely unreasonable?”** Overall, *Elden Ring* is beautiful, mysterious, brutally difficult, occasionally confusing, and somehow extremely addictive. It's the kind of game where you spend three hours exploring a gorgeous landscape, get distracted by a suspicious-looking hole in the ground, spend another hour in a dungeon, lose all your runes, scream at a boss, finally kill it, and then immediately think: “Alright. Where's the next one?” **Final verdict:** A masterpiece for people who enjoy breathtaking fantasy worlds, existential dread, and voluntarily experiencing emotional damage from a video game. **Would recommend.** Just don't expect to keep your dignity.
There is no other way to describe this game except an unmitigated dumpster fire. Fromsoftware or whatever that trash company's name is decided at every corner not to make a challenging game, but an annoying game. I don't care that the bosses are harder - good. But placing them at the end of a massive run with no respawn points over and over - making it so that mechanics cause you to lose progress over and over just to waste your time. That's not game design, that's lazy, horrible experience for people who spend their money on this. And as hard as this game claims the bosses are - nothing is more difficult than fighting the controls to actually get your character to do the actions you want him to do. - Someone who hasn't drank the kool-aid
I love elden ring because ranni the witch. PS. consort Radhan a good boy
It's a very great game, not for those who don't have patience. A lot to do, a lot of content and bosses.
Awesome game
