Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

If you like suikoden, you'll like this game. Can do less with the minigames though, a bit too many and doesn't really give significant rewards. There should be a way to upgrade weapons several levels in one go, so players don't have to watch the upgrade animations each time. Graphics and character animations are great to look at, bring up nostalgia but doesn't look dated at the same time.

Best RPG in years.

Nos encontramos ante un JRPG por turnos que imita a los clásicos de la época de PS1. Concretamente, este sigue la línea de la saga Suikoden, llegando a parecer una copia de la segunda entrega de la saga y que encima está lleno de referencias y/o easter eggs que los amantes de la saga sabrán reconocer al momento. En definitiva, se trata de un juego que engancha por su sistema de 'colección' de aliados, el cual nos invita a explorar y resolver las distintas tareas y minijuegos para hacernos con todos, además de el desarrollo de nuestra base, una tarea para la cual tendremos que reunir materiales y aliados específicos para seguir mejorándola y convertirla en una auténtica ciudad. Resumiendo, si alguna vez has jugado a la saga Suikoden, sabes lo que te espera en este juego.

as far as story and gameplay this game is very good. there are caveats to this though. it has no quality of life improvements that should be there. this plays like a ps1 suikoden game. meaning no 2x to 4x speed on movement or game if you want it. everything runs... slow. the auto save is terrible and saves are far and few. you have to save at a save point. if you can get over all of this though it's a great game. a solid 8 out of 10. it's just without the 2025 things i like to see in turn based games like trails games have. still highly recommended for anyone that likes political war style stories where you rise from nothing to build a nation.

Not bad

A good game that has its flaws and curiosities but well worth the purchase. It (IMO) accomplishes what it set out to do in that it is a spiritual successor of Suikoden II. While it could have stood to use some of the systems it set it up in a better way and suffers from some story pacing issues, all in all a good game despite some notable issues. 7.5 out of 10, happy with purchase and would look forward to a sequel. Yes, there was more that could be done and some places where things could have been done better but at the end of the day, I enjoyed playing the game. The very fact that I finished the game alludes to the fact. I COULD have loved it if there was even more work done in the story department but for what it is, it is was worth the play through. In my non-mathematical system that only means something to me... I would give a 7.5 out of 10. I hope a sequel comes and said sequel does much more with the foundation they have laid in this game. Steam made me shorten my review... I will see if I can post the full thing in the community section or something lol
