Eggcelerate! to the Tropics

Great addition to the Eggcelerate series. I haven't been able to watch the development process as much for this instalment in the series, so the levels will be more of surprise and challenge to complete. I've enjoyed the previous two incarnations and this adds something new with the bike, giving a different dynamic to work with through the ever challenging levels. The tracks are longer than the previous games, giving you more of a challenge. It will frustrate and delight in equal measure. A game you can pick up for a quick blast or spend longer at trying to beat the times on the leaderboard. Thumbs up from me.

Bought the game because I've been following the development journey on twitch, and it has been very interesting. The developer sometimes describes the game as "Dark Souls of Racing", which is pretty accurate. Some of the tracks feel like a Dark Souls boss fight where you have to retry dozens of times to learn what works, but once you learn the track, it's consistent and feels really good. It's a fun game if you enjoy this sort of difficulty.

This game is a great experience from start to finish. Once you complete the game, the challenge of beating your time and becoming the KOM adds a great incentive to keep playing. Overall, I highly recommend it to any gamer looking for a fun, challenging racing game.

A surprisingly enjoyable and very goofy racing game, if the premise appeals to you I'd give it a go. It feels great to play and the dev times are a very solid challenge to go for! Tropics is the third game in the Eggcelerate series and, similar to ice in the North Pole, it adds a new dimension by going from cars to motorcycles. I must admit that I was a bit sceptical about this at first but I was proven wrong. Now you can lean the bike in the corners which gives you full control over the egg and allows you to drive much quicker when aiming for the leaderboards. It really feels like a high-speed racing game which makes it a blast to compete against the WR ghost. You'll hear yourself saying "one more try" while the hours fly by. The music deserves its own section since it really captured the feeling of the tropics. On the negative side, I'm struggling a bit with the hills. It's an amazing feeling when you manage to throw and catch the egg but it's also painful when you drive over a tiny hill that causes you to lose the egg after a near-perfect run. I wish there was a playground track that allowed you to practice all the hills and egg catching without having to go through a one-minute track. But maybe I'm just biased since I love to grind the short easy-to-learn 20-25 seconds tracks. Climbing on the leaderboards is an amazing feeling. Overall a great game well worth the money.

Great little game. It gets fiendishly difficult if you try to compete with the on-line leaderboards, but you can take it slow and steady. Different from the previous Eggcelerate game (and its DLC), in this game you control a motorcycle, not a car. In some ways, it's easier, as you can take tighter turns. Of course, the tracks themselves are tighter, and have way more self-intersections. From the first 10 levels I've played, I do like the added environmental effects: I like wind more than magnets, as it is both less sudden and unavoidable; instead of having to avoid the magnet, now I need to work with the wind to get where I want. In general, the gameplay is a more polished iteration of the previous game, and very much a blast. I don't try to get on the leaderboards, but instead just play it to relax when I have 3 minutes spare time on my office machine - and it's very fun and stress-free. Of course, it loads and resets instantly, and the controls are very tight. Oh, and the egg puns are horrid ;p

I don't play a lot of racing games. I play almost none. If I do play it is generally casual play. Eggcelerate fits the look of casual but it challenges you. It is difficult. Yet that brings a charm to it. Cause though it seems easy and even starts kind of easy it quickly starts to ramp up. You want to get to the end, you also want to explore, you wonder where that little path that meanders off goes. It has a lot of different appeal which makes it really fun to play and extremely frustrating in a good way. Cause once you finish you feel a sense of accomplishment.

Eggcelerate! to the Tropics is a great addition to the series. The game offers a unique racing experience, and the tracks are challenging and rewarding. There are secondary paths to search for collectibles. The track environments look quite detailed and there is replayability by trying to beat your best times and you can try to compete on the leaderboards.
