About
Your lost curious kitten has wandered into a dark, creepy, mysterious crypt... a tomb that belongs to a coven of pirates, where through their mortal years they have amassed a huge bounty of jewels, gems and ancient coins. Now centuries later, and long since dead, they lay buried with their treasure. But understanding the nature of thieves and determined to keep their loot, even in death, they have summoned the spirits of the "shadow world" to govern and protect this crypt from the very bandits they once were.
• Explore hidden passages carved deep beneath the crypt.
• Uncover dark secrets buried beyond the graves.
• Open ancient coffins and disturb what should remain dead.
• Challenge the dead to games of chance and solve cryptic puzzles.
• Dig through forgotten tombs in search of clues and treasure.
• Shoot undead shadow servants before they drag you into the darkness.
• Rescue your lost kitten from the nightmare below.
Beneath the crypt lies a fortune so vast that generations of miners carved an elaborate mine cart network into the depths, determined to haul its endless gold to the surface. But greed drove them deeper than wisdom ever should have allowed. The restless spirits guarding these riches were far from dormant, and the tunnels soon became their hunting grounds.
Now the abandoned carts still race through the darkness, plunging across crumbling tracks, forgotten chambers, and bottomless chasms. Keep your wits about you—one missed track switch could send you hurtling off the rails and into the blackest depths of the underworld, where countless miners met their doom and never returned.
Edge of Evil is a horror experience that will take you deep below, through dark twisted passages and into the depths of a long forgotten locked crypt in search of answers to an ancient seal that has been broken, unleashing a powerful presence from the mysterious "Black World"
Does digging up graves sound like fun? You would be surprised what you can find buried in this crypt... treasure, secret passages and a dark hidden past. But don't dig too deep or you might uncover something that probably should stay buried.

Somehow I really like the atmosphere in all of this developer games. Everything from the visuals and ambient sound to the level design and storytelling. The grim setting keeps reminding me of Soulbringer. It's a very different game in terms of design but it has that same old-school dark fantasy feeling: blood stains on the walls, abandoned mine carts, forgotten tunnels, shrieking ghouls and the general impression that nothing good is going to happen. Edge of Evil is basically a continuation of the gameplay from Last Half of Darkness - only with a new story and more areas to explore. Same chilly atmosphere, same maze-like environments and most importantly the same pretty gothic chick guiding you through all of it. I didn't find the riddles particularly challenging but I don't think they really need to be. They're more of a starter, an aperitif to the game's aesthetics, something to keep you occupied and make you examine the environment while ghosts haunt you and the surroundings do most of the storytelling. There's always another strange room, creepy corpse or some little spooky thing waiting around the corner and exploring the place is really the main attraction here. I soaked up the atmosphere and adored wandering through the inhospitable corners of this charmingly decayed place. So yeah, if you're into haunted mansion type games, enjoy atmospheric exploration and narrative or are simply looking for some fresh ideas for your house renovation - this is a solid pick. Definitely recommended.

This game has a lot of fun puzzles and mini games and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time! I had a lot of fun playing this game and will definitely be checking out the devs other content!
enjoyed both this and Last Half of Darkness!
This game is no lie. I would go to the bowels of hell to save a cat. Needs work. Some graphics bugs... fell through the map a couple times and sometimes got stuck on the ground. I have played more solid-running games for a lot less. Even though I was not on easy mode, when you view the map for a quick gander, it ends up automatically placing a distance cursor -- giving away the hidden room which I didn't like. I am a masochist of sorts, and like difficult puzzles with very little hand holding. Puzzles were way too easy, and the extra gun clip just to give you a 12-round capacity from a 10-round seemed really out of place and unnecessary. I do love the hidden rooms and booby traps. I like how you can kill creatures instead of relying totally on stealth and hiding which drives me bonkers. So, yay! Game started out with some good jump scares, but then that just mostly disappeared toward the end. This doesn't feel like a finished game tbh, but it was certainly a lot of fun to play. I did enjoy it overall. I am old... a huge fan of their last redux of The Last Half of Darkness. Love the classics like Society of a Serpent Moon as well. So, I can't vote this game down because I really love this style of atmosphere and gameplay. Love these devs despite this game falling a bit short. Hoping you guys will come out with a Society redux. The old school classics are freakin' GEMS. Looking forward to seeing what else you guys make.
Short, but fun. Typical cat behavior.
Really enjoyed my first proper playthrough of Edge of Evil. WRF Studios has once again created a wonderfully atmospheric horror game packed with creepy crypts, puzzles, exploration and plenty of things lurking in the darkness. The environments look fantastic, the puzzles actually make you stop and think, and the whole “just rescue the kitten” setup very quickly turns into something much bigger and stranger. For around £5, there’s a surprising amount of detail here and I’ve had a great time with it so far. If you enjoy indie horror, exploration and old-school puzzle solving, it’s absolutely worth checking out. Now I just need to find Mittens... Highly recommended.
interesting little game with some intartaining puzzles, some shooting and a few boss fights not very hard. plenty of ammo lying around, no need to save it. all gem stones just a collection nothing else but some cog stone to be used. interesting ending. no problems with game at all. graphics are dood. i ejoyed it. thanks to people who made it.
If you played WRF Studios previous game, Last Half of Darkness, then you know what to expect with Edge of Evil. Namely in terms of visuals/graphics and gameplay. As I did enjoy my time in Last Half of Darkness I had fun visiting the world of Edge of Evil. If you are someone who enjoys a first person experience with some light action, puzzle solving, and exploration then definitely give Edge of Evil a go. The game feels fair and not overly complicated, difficult, or frustrating. With that said, what are you waiting for?! Get in there and rescue the poor little kitten, Nightshade!
I really enjoyed Edge of Evil. The story pulled me in, and the atmosphere kept me interested all the way through. It was definitely worth the buy and the playthrough for me. I’m really looking forward to seeing what WRF Studios comes out with next.
If you enjoy horror games but don't like when they are *too scary* this game is just for you! The whole story adds a touch of silliness to it that makes you laugh when it's all over. This game was so so so much fun to play. I was getting funnily jump scared by harmless things, while being focused on the tasks and enemies around. The breathing room between enemies to be able look around and figure out the map and the puzzles was nice. I really loved all the lore that was laying around to learn what everything was. I also enjoyed that reading the lore carefully was very important to helping solve things. The hidden interactions placed around the map was a nice touch as well. The dev took great care into fixing bugs and getting players opinions on this. Will def try out their other games in the future!
