About
Echoes of Mystralia is a roguelite action-RPG where memory is power. Craft your own spells, refine your tactics, and carve your path through a world trapped in the horrors of its past.
Play as Mazarim, a Watcher tasked with protecting the Cycle of Memories. Explore the lands of Mystralia, meet its lost souls, and face the Shadows of the Past. Will you save the World’s Memory before it disappears into the Rift?
Thunderbursts, freezing tornadoes, fire vortices. If you can imagine it, you can craft it. Memories are your only weapon against the Shadows of the Past. Combine them, reorder them, and watch your spell take shape right in front of you.
Discover a world haunted by its past, where people are reliving the horrors of their own history. Every path has its challenges, its encounters, and its rewards. And your journey is yours to command.
Every journey ends with a return to the Azimuth Temple. Up there, Watchers can develop their skills, change their combat approach, or simply enjoy the pearls of wisdom of a millennia-old dragon.
A Rift has opened in the Cycle of Memories. As a Watcher, it falls to you to save the World’s Memory. Divinities, primordial Guardians, and peoples scarred by war and exploitation: a vast world unfolds before you. Only you can uncover its hidden truths.

I played on a steam deck and everything worked great. I played the demo quite a bit and really liked it. Controls feel responsive and it’s a lot of fun to see what spells you can combine to work best for you. They also added twelve more spells from the original 4 to bring the total up to 16. I’m looking forward to spending some time unlocking everything and see what op combos I can come up with.

Art style is amazing and the game concept with spell modifiers has a lot of potential. Unfortunate for bad reviews saying it's short since it is an Early Access release and that should be expected (also it's highly replayable even at this state). Some people are saying it's too short and some are saying it's too hard, it's probably just missing some difficulty scaling. I think it's still worth getting it now if you're into the roguelite replayability and want to mess around with the different spell builds. Also, keep in mind Early Access is essentially to support the development of the game, you should not expect a finished product.
I played the Steam Next Fest demo for 4.5 hours, and really enjoyed my time, so I had to buy So far it's still good! Haven't seen too much new stuff yet, but there are already some fun new things
This game has all the right things to be amazing, and while it is still in early access you can see the game has amazing bone structure. There is no reason this game should be sitting at mixed reviews despite it being early access. Because any true gamer knows what a cash grab looks like. I'm not sure those who purchased and disliked the games gripes or complaints are but if it is because of a skill issue just get good. That's not a reason to give a negative review. Whilst I myself have not been able to play much of it, the little i did play told me enough. If you love Hades or more difficult games you'll love this game too. The story is fun and interesting, The ability to change up your spells is fun and allows for some intriguing interactions. I look forward to the future updates to further expand on this mechanic.
I wanna combat some of the bad reviews, this game is fantastic and does not deserve a mixed rating at all!
So, Echoes of Mystralia is exactly the kind of Rogue-like I really enjoy. It gives you thousands and thousands of possibilities on a run, and the combat and physics of the game allow you to both exploit and fall victim to the toolkit you are given. I really love the broad diversity of spell types and the little tweaks and variations you can make. The enemy diversity could use a bit of a padding out, as you will find many many of the same type of enemy throughout with a tweak to attack pattern. I would say the game needs more mini-boss variety as well, as running into the same mini-boss multiple times in a run isn't great. There are a few balancing issues and just game tweaks that need changing. Rotation of the pips in your spell crafting, better hit detection, making shields on late run enemies a bit less tanky. Also the game CAN get framerate choppy with some of the more visually demanding spells, and some editing to visual memory usage in engine would go a long way to fix that. Overall, this is a fantastic Rogue like with a lot of thought and energy towards giving you as broad a brush as possible. Go ham, or go hyper focused. I love that, and i'd say if you are found of games like the first Wizard of Legend, this will scratch that itch and then some.
