About
Echoes of Mystralia is a roguelite action-RPG where memory is power. Craft your own spells, refine your tactics, and carve your path through a world trapped in the horrors of its past.
Play as Mazarim, a Watcher tasked with protecting the Cycle of Memories. Explore the lands of Mystralia, meet its lost souls, and face the Shadows of the Past. Will you save the World’s Memory before it disappears into the Rift?
Thunderbursts, freezing tornadoes, fire vortices. If you can imagine it, you can craft it. Memories are your only weapon against the Shadows of the Past. Combine them, reorder them, and watch your spell take shape right in front of you.
Discover a world haunted by its past, where people are reliving the horrors of their own history. Every path has its challenges, its encounters, and its rewards. And your journey is yours to command.
Every journey ends with a return to the Azimuth Temple. Up there, Watchers can develop their skills, change their combat approach, or simply enjoy the pearls of wisdom of a millennia-old dragon.
A Rift has opened in the Cycle of Memories. As a Watcher, it falls to you to save the World’s Memory. Divinities, primordial Guardians, and peoples scarred by war and exploitation: a vast world unfolds before you. Only you can uncover its hidden truths.

Very fun experience, my biggest issue is the length of the runs, I know that this will be fixed with future updates. The spell crafting system is great, there is so much customization potential. I have high hopes for the future of this game.
--Initial Review - 19AUG26-- BLUF: Fun game of organizing effects to make devastating spells. Good grind of unlocks and variable of play. Also up front, the game is currently in Early Access. I reached the current end of the game around run 22 at about 10 hours. The game will be expanded to finish the storyline. Game has good voice acting, decent story, and interesting concept. If you are not for any if that, the game play is good and keeps you trying to make the ultimate build. Will update on full release.

So I don't have a ton of time in this, clearly, but I've watched Gohjoe (on YouTube) play enough of it to know I'd love it. It's like Hades met Magicraft and popped out a baby. Combat like Hades and spellcrafting like Magicraft. Also wanted to pop in and say it's absolutely handheld friendly. I've been playing on the OG Legion Go, and it plays like a dream. Despite it saying it isn't Steam Deck compatible. Did have to reduce graphics quality a bit, as well as resolution, but I can normally get 60+ fps and it still looks pretty.
I really like this game! It's tons of fun and really enjoyable to combine and create different spells, and the lore seems interesting. I really recommend people try out this game, it is tons of fun. I have a lot of negative feedback, but it comes from a love of this game and its concept, so please don't be turned away from buying it. The game tends to stutter a lot, I had to frame cap to 30fps and set to low settings to minimize stutters occurring. This may be due to my operating system, but I don't have a windows device available to try it out. With linux for gaming becoming more and more popular, I would love to see better support for this OS. As for gameplay, I really enjoy the main gameplay loop, but it feels incredibly short. If the full release doubled or tripled the length of the run, I could see it being viable, but only having three bosses with 2-3 stops along the way means I was able to beat this fully in 4 hours and I am pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ at games. For 20 dollars (which may increase on full release) this is absolutely not worth it. If there was higher difficulty, a shorter game-play loop would be reasonable, but this game is pretty darn easy with the right combinations of triggers and modifiers. Furthermore, this short gameplay loop makes it hard to really hone a spell and get to know your specific combination, which makes tweaking and understanding nuances less rewarding. For these spells, the vast majority of the memories benefit from quick casting spells that fill the screen with projectiles. The slow cast spells are significantly under-powered, and especially something like the base aqua attack (the long distance charge up ice) is so outclassed the moment the enemy moves towards you with any speed or there are more than 2 enemies. Spamming any spawn adding and trigger on spawn modifiers and triggers onto a fast spell is always the best option. Furthermore, not all the branches of memories seem balanced. I forget all of the names, but there is FIre, Water/Ice, Lightning, Air, Earth, Light, and (potential spoiler?). Fire and Lightning seem to be the best, with Water and Light runners up with good support memories. Earth by far seems to be the worst as it doesn't help much against bosses, and the support memories are weak, generally. I haven't gotten a chance to play with (potential spoiler?) much, but the one I've seen seems powerful. Some of the later levels seem to feel like enemy spam, and it gets hard to avoid the stronger enemies' slightly more complicated move-sets when there are 10 surrounding me. I'd love to see higher health mini-bosses that I have to think about and learn their moves more while engaging in multi-mob combat as a way to increase difficulty without simply adding a bunch of creatures.
This game is good for about 30 hours or so.. then there is no real point in playing anymore. There is no end game, once you unlock all the spells, and pretty much all the extras, which is not that hard by the way, there really is nothing to do except experience all the combinations. That is the best part of the game however. Playing with all the endless combinations of skills and modifications while in combat. After a while it becomes repetitive, since you end up using the same starting skills that you like the most. Which there are only 4 in my opinion. But that is subjective. All in all, still a fun game to get lost in for a little while.
Its great, few minor bugs in texts/fonts but overall great game for early access. they need to add more variaty of enemies, but again its only on early access.
Satisfying combat, the crafting magic system reminds me of Astral Ascent, which I enjoy.
great replayability, super excited to continue
