For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. Echo of the Wilds is a tricky game to review. It's a mixture of a survival game, a time management game, an adventure game, and a kind of metaphysical-lite experience. It doesn't really have an easy comparison point in other games to label it as 'like x'. That said, I really enjoyed the game--I'd played it during early access days when it could get very esoteric and obscure, but it holds together very well in its final product. It's an experience. I love that it doesn't handhold you through discovering its ins and outs... it's one of very few games out there these days that rewards intuition, trial and error, and a genuine sense of exploration and discovery. Even minute discoveries feel meaningful and 'achieved'... kinda like those early moments in Minecraft, way back when. Overall, you're trying to survive day-to-day in nature, with so many 'time points' to spend per day exploring or securing resources, and the eventual passing of the seasons to contend with. Beyond that, you're trying to figure out why and what you're trying to survive, and what the purpose of your situation is. I won't say that the answer is especially deep or complex, but the process is quite nice and ultimately rewarding. It's an excellent playthrough if you're looking for a survival-puzzler-adventure, or just something quite different from the mainsteam genres of gaming these days. I appreciate that the developer stepped out there a bit with his ideas. A final comment, for those of you familiar with survival genre mechanics: play the game on survival and not 'story'--it's a better challenge without sacrificing any of the game elements--and likely how the game was originally intended.

I am really enjoying the haunting, delightful feel of this game. There's a lot of layer discovery and a generally satisfying loop centred around managing your resources and planning your day (carefully!). I wish the inventory was a little bit more forgiving, especially once you die and have to repeat the same steps again as it gets a bit tedious. But overall really enjoying this game and would recommend it (it has some vague Sword and Sworcery feels).
Echo of the Wilds is a distinctive survival adventure that takes a quieter and more thoughtful approach than many games in the genre. Developed by caiys and published by caiysware, it places players in a mysterious wilderness where survival is only one part of a much larger journey. Rather than focusing on combat-heavy encounters or large-scale base building, the game emphasizes exploration, self-reliance, and uncovering the secrets of an unfamiliar world. From the opening moments, players are encouraged to learn through observation and experimentation, creating an experience that feels personal and rewarding. The game's central premise revolves around surviving in a vast natural environment while preparing for the arrival of a harsh winter. Resources are limited, and every decision matters. Players must gather food, collect materials, craft tools, and create equipment that will help them endure the changing seasons. The survival mechanics are deep without becoming overwhelming, and they are closely tied to exploration. New discoveries often provide access to better crafting opportunities, while crafted items allow players to venture farther into unknown regions. This interconnected design ensures that progression always feels meaningful. One of the most impressive aspects of Echo of the Wilds is the sense of discovery it creates. The world contains dozens of unique locations, hidden secrets, and environmental puzzles that reward curiosity. Rather than relying on extensive tutorials or objective markers, the game trusts players to find their own path. Every new area explored can reveal valuable resources, unusual landmarks, or clues about the world's deeper mysteries. This design philosophy makes exploration feel genuinely exciting because success comes from observation and learning rather than simply following directions. Crafting plays a major role throughout the adventure. The game offers a large collection of items that can be created from gathered materials, including tools, clothing, furniture, and survival equipment. Every resource serves a purpose, encouraging players to think carefully about what they collect and how they use it. The crafting system complements the survival mechanics effectively, providing a steady sense of progression while supporting the broader goals of exploration and preparation. Seasonal changes add another layer of depth to the experience. The environment evolves over time, affecting resource availability and influencing survival strategies. The approach of winter creates constant tension, pushing players to prepare for more difficult conditions ahead. Different seasons encourage different priorities, making long-term planning just as important as immediate survival. This dynamic world helps maintain engagement throughout the journey and reinforces the feeling that nature itself is an active part of the gameplay. The narrative unfolds gradually through exploration and interaction with the world rather than through lengthy cutscenes. A spiritual and mysterious storyline slowly emerges as players uncover more information about their situation and the strange wilderness surrounding them. The storytelling is subtle yet effective, allowing players to piece together the larger picture at their own pace. Themes of isolation, perseverance, and discovery resonate strongly throughout the adventure, giving the experience emotional depth beyond its survival mechanics. Visually, the game adopts a simple but appealing style that suits its independent origins. The environments may not feature cutting-edge graphics, but they successfully create an atmosphere of mystery and wonder. Combined with ambient sound design and a relaxing soundtrack, the presentation helps immerse players in the wilderness. The world feels peaceful at times and threatening at others, striking a balance that supports both exploration and survival. The game's commitment to player-driven discovery can also be its greatest challenge. Those who prefer extensive guidance may find certain mechanics or progression paths difficult to understand initially. Some experimentation is required, and the learning curve can occasionally lead to moments of frustration. However, players who enjoy uncovering systems and solving problems on their own will likely find these elements rewarding rather than discouraging. Echo of the Wilds succeeds because it blends survival, crafting, exploration, and storytelling into a cohesive experience that values curiosity and patience. It offers a refreshing alternative to more action-oriented survival games by focusing on atmosphere, discovery, and personal growth. While its unconventional approach may not appeal to every player, those willing to embrace its slower pace will find a memorable and deeply satisfying adventure filled with mystery and meaningful exploration. This is a weird game in a good way.
Kind of weird at first but give it some time and it grows on you. Simple but interesting.
Love this game <3
couldn't really get into it
This game is truly a hidden gem, it's a little quirky survival game with lots of mystery and fun puzzles. One of the smaller games that I wish for a sequel or DLC.
Fun :).
