This game is fantastic if you meet it on its own terms, a sega genesis game with a couple design flaws, a bit rough around the edges. But that doesnt stop it from getting a spot easily on the top 10 Megadrive games of all time, along Shinobi 3, MUSHA, Streets of Rage 2, Lightening Force and Castlevania Bloodlines. Hell, the sound designer actually crafted the OST for this, SoR and Shinobi, and it doesnt dissapoint at all on this entry. I bought this initially for the ps5 along with extra copies for two friends, + obviously my steam copy, do I regret buying this game 4 times? Not at all, shmups deserve more love and support. My biggest complains would be that, on steam deck at least, the reset button crashes the game so you have to close and restart it. Also the lack of savestates is a mayor pain for practicing your 1cc, I actually had to get a, uhm, rom to practice with savestates through emulation, although I may just suck at shmups, as apparently a lot of people got their first 1cc easily after just starting the game. Mine on normal did take roughly 15 hours across platforms but it was time well spent, I will definitely be returning to it throughout the years.

It's a great shmup. The negative mark comes from the fact that this is the console port and we need the more arcady EXA version for the same price.
A++
Fantastic game! All the best elements of the 90’s & and a small dash of modern gameing rolled into one great experience! If you like any of the following games, Earthion is for you: Thunder Force series Gradius series Darius series Eliminate Down Bio Hazard Battle
I never owned a Genesis - I had a SNES. But I did love shoot-em-ups. This nails it, dude. Period-perfect, beautifully balanced, edge-of-your-seat bullet hell bliss. Also, *gorgeous.* Really really pretty game - amazing what they managed to get 16-bit to do. 'Bout the length of a comparable game cart from the nineties (Blaz-E-On, R-Type, etc.), but better than most of 'em! Easy recommend.
Lots of fun, great Mega Drive Shmup, amazing soundtrack. It was a blast to play through. Fortunately you don't die in one hit and you can get all achievements on easy and/or with 99 lives password. Otherwise I would have no chance to 1cc the game on Hard or even Hotshot. Runs great on Steam Deck.
Just buy It. Very nice gameplay, OST & sound design. It is also very replayable.
A masterpiece!
As a fan of Thunderforce IV, Contra, R-Type and other classic gems, this one hits right on the nostalgia nerve! Great action game with many epic bosses!
