This game is such a blast!! A brilliant combination of arcade fun like in the days of the 16 bit era, with more depth than it looks (shield system, ship upgrades, you can keep a weapon to start the next level with). There are 4 difficulty levels (I think the Easy mode fits very well for the players who are new to the genre), and there are challenges too! The soundtrack is really cool, with 1 or 2 tracks that stick in your head when you're done playing (I think of the boss fight theme and the Stage 2 theme). I freakin love just how much work was put both in the visuals and the sound design, for a game that was designed to be playable on SEGA GENESIS the quality is Top Tier! Bonus points for the story that's simple yet really cool with a fun twist, and I like the style of the heroine (and that may seem strange but I like that "cameo-esque" introduction of her, much like Samus in Metroid, same aura... hope to see more of her in the future). In conclusion, Earthion is a game that's perfect for either playing from time to time, or doing big sessions and trying hard to get better at it. Hats off to the team, I really hope they make a sequel (space shooter or other genre).
Rad retro.
Just buy It. Very nice gameplay, OST & sound design. It is also very replayable.
A++
Designed to be a quality Megadrive title. Good little game.
I never owned a Genesis - I had a SNES. But I did love shoot-em-ups. This nails it, dude. Period-perfect, beautifully balanced, edge-of-your-seat bullet hell bliss. Also, *gorgeous.* Really really pretty game - amazing what they managed to get 16-bit to do. 'Bout the length of a comparable game cart from the nineties (Blaz-E-On, R-Type, etc.), but better than most of 'em! Easy recommend.
Action-packed tribute to arcade side-scrollers of the late 1980s. The authentic screen ratio and CRT overlay are authentic touches.
