I was having a good experience, but after reeboting my computer the save files were gone :( I really wanted to continue the history, but i dont want to start over again unfortunately
This game was worth every cent. Loved the characters, loved the mechanics, the art, everything! I think It must be an inspiration for people who want to make similar games out there. Make it fun, make it mean something, make it as beautiful as you can and, even if you can't do all those things perfectly, make the game with your heart.
I'm a furry so I was immediately hooked into the demo for this game, where I have more game hours on. I just got to Day 7 in the game during the Science Fair. I love all the characters, esp that hot dino chick with her broken nic vape from Day 5. I assume choices in the game you make do actually matter because of the mood meter. From how long I've played, it seems that the current mood of the character carries on into the following days. Very, very immersive for a visual novel. I like that this "novel" actually has real gameplay where you fix broken items. I've played MANY, MANY furry visual novels like Repeat, Echo, Nekojishi, Tennis Aces, Khemia, Adastra, Sileo, After Class, Major/Minor, Amorous, Blackgate, Extracurricular Activities, Forest Of Love by Carrot, and Hayseed Knight. All of those other games do not have a "gameplay loop" like this one does. And the few furry visual novels that do have some kinda gameplay are all just pointless mini-games. Dynopunk has a literal gameplay loop with fixing broken electronics that loops every in-game day and I really, really appreciate that. And there's a money system that allows you to use what you earned during the in-game day to upgrade your shop. Other furry visual novels can learn from this game. Also, that music, OH MY GOD <3 Josh Lim is the producer for the music in this game and the music is sooooooooooooo good. Other furry visual novels like Amorous and Hayseed Knight also have great soundtracks, but nothing as great as this one. It's a synth-heavy soundtrack that makes the game feel cozy and sucks you into the game where you just kinda get lost in it.
It's a very chill game. The setting and premise is very nice, and I like how many characters they have. My only major complaint is that I don't really like the main character, since the idea of them being a T-rex, which are apparently extinct in this modern world seems a little weird to me. Its a cool idea - but just doesn't resonate with me at all, I feel some other unique Saurian with an interesting adaptation - like Baryonyx/Suchomimus with their huge index claws, or Therizinosaurus with long scythe-esc nails would have been cooler. However on a whole, its a really calm game. Sure I feel that some of the dialogue can feel a teeny bit forced, especially the early on banter between Justin and Chris. Or the remarks Chris makes about himself, but the atmosphere and way you interact with the other characters is really nice.
I enjoyed my time this game, I think you should play it. I don't think this game is very good and is entirely carried by it's graphics and characters. All the characters are very fun and pretty well written even if they don't have the most depth and their issues are solved a little too quickly and easily. But it's nice to have to do things like snap your friend out of making a stupid decision or help a rich kid realize that all his friends are using him for money. This excludes the main character Chris who is one of the most infuriating stupid protagonists I have ever had to deal with, this guy is in his 20s and is only now realizing that mixed race couples can be a thing. He's insanely delusional and it seems like no matter what you can't snap him out of his stupid time machine thing until the very last important decision in the game, despite some what some earlier options say. I appreciate the attempt of making a character so blinded by grief but it is really not handled too well. The time machine in general is just super nonsensical and takes me out of the game every single time it's brought up. The game's description really doesn't lie when it says that it has cyberpunk aesthetics, while they are absolutely beautiful in some cases I do have to say that this game is really only cyberpunk aesthetically. Sure it mentions police and gangs and poverty and tech oppression but apart from a short plotpoint (that doesn't really lead to much) these things that define the cyberpunk genre are really just background dressing. And maybe there's nothing inherently wrong with that but it's something that I personally don't like too much. I do like how right to repair laws are given a focus (though a small one) it's not really something you see in Cyberpunk much. Gameplay looked really appealing to me at first, I was excited to see how it would expand and involve and become more complicated as the game goes on. But it never did, you either cut out a shape and glue it on, take a part out and swap it, or scribble all over whatever you're fixing. It becomes less actual gameplay and more just a means to an end really. I was expecting papers please level of 'stuff on a desk you have to organize and put together' levels but no, it's just the same 3 things every single time with the occasional minor mix up. So TLDR +Great characters --Except the main one +Beautiful visuals +Story that's pretty nice at best -But eyerolling and meaningless at worse +Pretty good music -Gameplay that doesn't evolve ++Sye, I like her a lot Overall like, I don't know? A 5/10 to a 6/10 depending on how I'm feeling. Give it a try though! I really hope whatever the devs make next is as good as it can be and that they learn from this game, both from its pros and its cons. Support indie devs!
