Good game very enjoyable, they nerfed the grappling hook from the first game but I highly recommend skipping dying light: 2 and just getting this game instead. Running this on max graphics made my pc chug at points but the game is absolutely stunning, highly enjoyable.
Its fun! You get to kill zombies and do parkour! Just how doug described his nightmare to me!

If you’re here for the gameplay, you’ll get everything you want from a DL game. Kyle starts with more parkour skills off rip, we get the complex town layouts that were promised to us in DL2, and don’t get me started on how gorgeous the map is. It’s clear a lot of care was put into the visuals and mechanics of this game, and you’ll see it everywhere. Combat feels good, you get guns and lots of weapons early on, and the night feels scary again. If that’s what you’re here for, you’ll have a great time. As for the story… It's very hard to write a revenge plot where you’re in the shoes of the protagonist because you need to care enough about the world or the characters to go through with said revenge, but this just doesn’t do it. I rate this game the way I do because with hindsight, I would’ve been totally fine without having played this entry at all. The story is unfortunately shallow and the missions are just isolated busy work. For “The Baron” being the big bad of this story, he has no real involvement in the story except being the final boss and to provide a very cliche villain ending. Emotional moments don’t stick because the story never takes the time to get you emotionally invested. Characters from the previous games are brought back just for a cameo in the final mission. It just feels like one of those “and then” stories. I wish that the story got the kind of care and attention all the other areas of the game seemed to have gotten, as the combat and free running are both genuinely enjoyable. It’s just quite a lackluster entry. Maybe my expectations were unrealistic, or my idea of the type of story we were going to get was unfounded, but I really didn’t get much from playing this. And this is coming from someone that has played the two prior entries extensively and was so ready to glaze the hell outta this game. You’ll get a Dying Light game for sure, just nothing more.
Dying Light: The Beast was a huge disappointment for me. The story and ending are both weak, and the gameplay becomes repetitive very quickly—hunting Chimeras is basically the same process every time. Instead of the promised return to the series' roots, it feels like a downgrade, and even the heavily criticized Dying Light 2 had more depth.
A fantastic sequel to the original game! It captures what made the original game good, story, parkour, combat, the atmosphere, and Kyle frick'n Crane drop kicking zombies off a 4 story building! Simply exquisite. The atmosphere is SO GOOD! You really feel like you your in a rundown zombie infested world and it's easy to get immersed. The combat, parkour, and and movement all feel good. I literally played this right after playing through the original Dying Light and I was not disappointed. (The original is still GOATED!) The main characters you interact with are interesting and the missions are fun and scary and had me clenching my cheeks harder than a volatile in daylight. Would 100% recommend to anyone who is thinking about playing! Plus it would be super fun with friends! (if you have any of those). Note: I do wish you could clear volatile hives like in Dying Light: The Following. That was fun and how they have it in this one was a little disappointing compared to that. That is my main gripe with the game but its a pretty small one.
