Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.33/day in the week to Aug 4 → 6.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Prepare for the deepest, most intricate simulation of a world that has ever been created.

Not just generated geometry -- a whole simulated world. Generated rise and fall of civilizations, personalities, creatures, cultures, etc. Infinite hours of gameplay.
Now with beautiful pixel graphics!
Learn the basics with in-game tutorials
A lifetime “living” project - created/updated since 2003, with no end in sight
Generate your unique world and manage a bustling colony of dwarves, even as they probably mine towards their eventual demise.
A new endless hobby, just for you!

The legendary Dwarf Fortress is now on Steam! Build a fortress and try to help your dwarves survive, despite threats of starvation, dragons, and madness.

In this complex construction/management/roguelike simulation, every generated world brings a unique challenge, whether it’s dwarves with their own simulated personalities or aquifers. Observe what makes your civilization fall into eventual decline, and learn for next time… until something else inevitably goes wrong.
The combat model includes skills, body parts, material properties, aimed attacks, wrestling, pain, nausea, various poison effects, and much more.
It’s difficult to convey the depth of the generation. Hundreds of animals and monsters, many of which are randomly created for each world, as well as generated poetry, musical forms, instruments, and dances for your dwarves to practice and perform. A dynamic weather model tracks wind, humidity, and air masses to create fronts, clouds, storms, and blizzards. Over two hundred rock and mineral types can appear, in their proper geological environments.
Remember: Losing is fun!

This is still good old Dwarf Fortress, but with graphics support and music provided. A few bells and whistles won’t change its essence.
Classic Dwarf Fortress mod-artist Jacob "Ironhand" Bowman collaborated with artists Carolyn Jong and Neoriceisgood to create an all-new sprite pack for the game, which they continue to add to regularly.
Dwarf Fortress also has hours of music in a two-volume soundtrack by Dabu and Simon Swerwer, including tracks in the Dwarvish language!
It's never been easier to start playing! We've improved the new player experience with the addition of tutorials to guide you through building your first fort and keeping your dwarves happy.

Command your dwarves as they search for wealth in their generated mountain. Your dwarves will need a steady supply of food and beer, but they’ll also need your guidance in surviving attacks from hostile civilizations, the wilderness, or even the dead.
Craft treasures and furnitures from various materials
Establish a barony and support the increasingly demanding nobility
Read your dwarves’ thoughts to keep them happy
Build floodgates to divert water for farming, and/or prevent magma mishaps
Build structures and watch your dwarves discover and build their culture, like taverns, libraries, temples, honey, wax, pottery, animal training, bookbinding, and more.
Go anywhere! Explore any civilization, earn a reputation, and recruit followers to join you
Experience your fortress and the simulation in a new, more embodied way
Explore mythical dungeons to find magical items, artifacts, and fill your quest journal
Hints of mythology and magic as a start of future simulation enrichment to come
An additional hour of music from Dabu and Simon Swerwer, presented as a second volume of the original soundtrack

I love this game to death, I have played countless hours on the Legacy edition with the Ascii Graphics and part of me enjoys that version more than this one, but the Tileset for this version does make things easier to read (less time pausing the game to inspect an individual tile) I have tried Adventure mode as well and I have not made it far. Give it a go but be warned it takes about 4 hours to understand what you are doing and another few hours to get to the point where you are flourishing.
theres socks everwhere
So far from what I can say. This is an amazing game. Yes, there are a few bugs and UI things I would like to see fixed, but overall this game is top notch, and right up my alley. The modding scene is also very well put together. I will edit this if anything changes, and when I put together the list of bugs and UI things I noticed that new players like me will have problems with.
dwarf
I forgot about the beasts D:
This game is really good and is what I've always been looking for. It's honestly not that hard, and the in-game tutorial, as well as asking my friend and just trial and error on my part, is really all it takes to get a basic grasp of the mechanics. I didn't even need to ask how to become a Mountainhome, it was pretty straightforward, and thank god for DfHack otherwise, I would be selecting goods to trade for a century. This game is just peak entertainment, and so much cool stuff happens, so I guess it's time for... Storytime! Chingus Gingus, the dwarf, after settling down in a savanna, witnesses 3 of his comrades drown as the river ice thaws and decides to steal the artifact mug on display in the tavern. After the crime is witnessed and reported by all 30 people in the tavern, he gets arrested and serves around 200-300 days in the dungeon. After being freed, he is drafted to the military and given full steel, quickly becoming a legendary hammerdwarf. A forgotten beast, "Odshith" (Actually its name btw), attacks the fortress and gets into the farms where dwarf children are playing make-believe over troglodyte corpses. They are all brutally murdered by the giant slug, but Chingus Gingus comes in and enacts his revenge by slaying the beast. He is bestowed the title Chingus Gingus, "Odshith's Bane", for his triumph. After celebrating his victory, he, as well as 19 other legendary steel-clad dwarves, are sent out to raze a seemingly normal goblin settlement of 75, which is a task they had many times before completed, even without a single loss in the fortress's history. The razing party is full of many notable dwarves, such as Fred's Boyfriend, Mr. Hands, John Pork, Kermit the Banjo Beater, and many others. However, months pass, and only one returns, Chingus Gingus, as he escaped while the other dwarves were struck down while fighting 150-200 cave trolls each. However, before he and the rest of the fort could mourn their dead, a goblin raiding party of over 200 appears and lays siege to the fort. This is bad news for Chingus Gingus, as besides the dwarves manning the bolt throwers on the walls, he is the only dwarf equipped in the military, and he is injured from prior fighting with cave trolls. He does his best to fend off the horde, but is knocked unconscious by the few remaining invaders. All hope seems lost for Chingus Gingus, but as though the dwarven gods themselves heard his head hit the ground, a dwarven trade caravan from the foothills of the kingdom, with heavily strengthened trade and knowing the monarch resides in the fort, arrives, comprising of 11 wagons and over 30 dwarven soldiers. The remaining goblins are distracted and torn down by the caravan, and Chingus Gingus can be taken straight to the hospital, where he would receive treatment and go on to survive as a hero... Instead, he dies as I can't figure out how to make soap... The fort mourns the death of a great soldier, but of course something goes awry, as the miners dig through the adamantine column and breach hell, and the fort is swarmed by demons as SOMEONE forgot to connect the drawbridge to the lever... HOLY PEAK GAME
A masterpiece
