Just finished 100%ing Duskfade. And all in all. I would say it was quite a lot of fun. It is clearly a game heavily inspired by 3d platformers of the 2000s and prior. Bringing back so many memories from when I was a kid. The game is absolutely gorgeous and runs smooth like butter for me on high even though I've got some pretty mediocre hardware from well over half a decade ago. Game isn't too long or too short. Didn't feel like it tried to rush things or overstay. The story I felt was pretty predictable all in all. Predicted a lot of things well in advance of anything being directly hinted at in the story. But, it definitely had plenty of wholesome and touching moments in it as well. The dialogue was overall pretty entertaining. If you spend the time to interact with the npcs scattered throughout you will get some decent chuckles out of them in my opinion. The combat however is rather lackluster it starts of being extremely simple and never really expands on itself that much. Sure, you get 1 tool in the middle of the game that is required to deal with certain enemies. But, that feels more like a gimmick than anything else. While most other additions to the combat feel more as just minor tweaks or stat boosts. Bosses were generally speaking kinda pushovers even on max difficulty and the main difficulty came from the swarms of mobs outside of boss fights instead of the boss fights themselves. But, to be fair to the bosses. Despite the lack of difficulty I thoroughly enjoyed most of them. With 1 big exception and I genuinely hope they fix that boss. Massive spoiler ahead.
The final boss is frankly horribly designed it was one of only 3 bosses that I died to a single time. Which was nice to see as a final boss to have some real difficulty to them. But, the first phase is frankly speaking just hot garbage. Zero challenge to it whatsoever and they just play keepaway for 90% of the encounter just teleporting away. I frankly do not know how that got through QA
But, with my complaints about the combat out of the way. The platforming was simply lovely really reigniting my love for platformers more so than I remembered having. And the visuals and music are simply fantastic start to finish. I don't think I have ever played a game with more sceenshot worthy views than this game. Excellent job on that. All in all. I'd give the game an 8/10 and if they make another similar game in the future I hope they take a look at the frustrating parts of combat in this game and maybe their next game will be a 9/10 or 10/10 for me.

Fun gameplay and platforming, beautiful visuals. Only gripe is that a couple bosses didn't feel properly tuned at max difficulty.
Beautiful game. Absolutely recommended.
This game was really great. It really sent me back to when I was a kid playing Kingdom Hearts and Jak and Daxter. The art was great, the music was great, the voice acting was solid. My favorite part was the platforming, which is probably most of the game. Very fun to just get into a flow of roll, jump, jump, attack, roll, etc. There were a few times where it felt like it wouldn't register ledge grabs or grapples felt like I should have been able to lock on but really nothing major. I had one big gripe though and that was the combat and gadgets. I felt the gadgets were extremely underwhelming. I don't think I used the
timebomb
once. Once I got the final ability, that was the only one I used the rest of the game. The combat encounters were harder than any boss fight in the whole game, not because the enemies were tough but because they could attack you through every attack, you couldn't stun them, and they all attack at once. Its the one piece of this game that I hope they rework at some point if they ever decide to do DLC or something. That being said, this game was worth the time and money. I had a really fun time with it and might even consider learning to speedrun it. Well done devs.
A message to the developers. Do not release trash like this ever again.
I haven’t beaten it yet. I feel like I’m close to the end but I must say it starts off a lil slow and boring but once you start unlocking abilities and the maps become more complex it’s a lot of fun. Also has quite a few fun boss fights!
