About
Since then, countless moons have passed...
As people wove generations together,
she quietly continued to fulfill her duty.
But at last, the time came, and the silence was broken.
Old and weary, she gathered her last strength
and spread her wings to find out the hero...
Dungeon Antiqua 2 is a 2D dungeon hack-and-slash RPG featuring SNES-style pixel art and sound.
A retro-flavored adventure awaits you, blending strategic exploration with a highly flexible character building system.
§ Exploration
Players will explore six dungeons, navigating with a unique system where visibility of corridors and enemies depends on the character’s “vision".
Dungeon Antiqua 2 uses a symbol encounter system—you can avoid battles by dodging enemies, or strike first and take the initiative. The path forward is yours to carve through skill and decision-making!
§ System
In addition to the eight jobs from the previous game, two new classes—Monk and Archer—have been added, bringing the total to ten.
Earn skill points from victorious battles; once they reach the required threshold, you’ll unlock job-specific skills.
Since changing jobs does not reset level, you can freely experiment with multiple jobs to create your own ultimate party!
note: Five jobs are available at the start of the game. The remaining five types will become available as you progress through the game.
§ Concept
Sometimes, why not take a step back and return to the cartridge era of gaming?
By stripping away excessive story cutscenes and focusing on short, simple dialogue and text, the world is designed to spark your imagination—inviting you to create your own personal adventure.
§ Playtime
For a first playthrough, we estimate a playtime of approximately 10-12 hours.
This game takes place hundreds of years after the story of Dungeon Antiqua.
You may even come across some familiar characters from the previous game…
Save data from the demo can be transferred to the full version.
On standard PCs (Windows/Mac), the save data files themselves are shared. Therefore, if you launch the full version after playing the demo, you can continue playing from where you left off in the demo.
For certain environments like Steam Deck, after launching the game, select “Inherit Data” > “Backup Save data” from the menu in the upper-right corner. Choose the data from after clearing the trial version to obtain a 6-digit code. Then, in the full version, select “Inherit Data” > “Restore Save data” and enter the obtained 6-digit code to transfer the save data.
Your download also includes an executable file for certain handheld consoles (see the official website for details).
From Settings > Manage > Browse Local Files, locate dungeon-antiqua2.pyxapp and transfer it to your device.
Sums Steam only; Xbox, GOG, PlayStation, Nintendo publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

Reviews
This game is like if Final Fantasy V and Wizardry/Etrian Odyssey had a baby. It's very good and very brisk. It's a sub 15 hour game that still has a good amount of depth and is somewhat open ended in the order in which you do things. The music is on point, really evoking the Final Fantasy 4/5 sound. The number of classes is a bit abbreviated compared to FFV, but that's the whole concept of this game. Something fast and to the point that doesn't overstay it's welcome.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Jul 24 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

For a particular type of person, this could well be a top 5 game, I'm serious I know, I know, it's one of a million retro RPGs us gen Xer's can pick to relive the decade owned by the SNES. Half Wizardry, half FF. What's the big deal? Well, do you find yourself mashing through the text and having no patience at all for being lost in a world map? Got you covered. Do you enjoy grinding but get sick of healing on the pause screen? Yeah, there's a single button for that. Do you like farming late game gear with a low drop rate but a payoff that makes you glad you did it? Base stat boots come from mastering each class, so while you absolutely don't have to, maxing out your party is rewarding! The game's not perfect- there's one "guide-dang-it" moment in story progression that's pretty aggressively bad... but it doesn't lock you out of anything (after a patch, thanks for listening to feedback Dev) and if you care, you can easily see it on the discussion pages before you get that deep into the game. There's an enemy that drops great XP but has a high chance to run away (I always hate those) Honestly if you're the sort of person who will love this game, you probably already know. What are you waiting for?
It is a big improvement compared to the first game. However, this is heavily influenced by my preference towards more modern style rpg's. For me, this game improved on most things from the combat, class system and the dungeon design. It also has a SNES aesthetic and soundtrack compared to the first game which was completely NES styled. Honestly, also a huge recommendation on this one. It is so much fun playing around with the class system and seeing what broken builds you can create with the cross class skills you unlock.
This is not a large scale epic fantasy, this is a compact dungeon crawler. Think Final Fantasy 5 but without any of the dialogue or exploration, just a raw RPG game loop. That said, it does what it is supposed to do incredibly well. The combat is fast, fluid, rewarding. Characters always feel like they're getting stronger and building meaningful tools to deal with situations. The difficulty is hard to describe. It's high, but gives you all the tools to overcome it if you're paying attention. If you try to brute force the bosses, you'll die, but figuring out how they operate and exploiting them is a fun little puzzle that makes them very manageable. If you actually try skills and read descriptions, it's a fairly easy game. This is because the status ailment system in this game is actually good and worth using. I was sleeping, silencing, poisoning, confusing enemies all throughout the game. Even using Death and other instant kill skills were not universally useless due to immunities, I found myself using instant kill a fair bit. The job system is compact but rewarding. Unlike FF5, none of the jobs here feel totally useless, and mastering a couple of them per character is worthwhile. Even if DA1 put you off with its old-school FF1/Wizardryness, try DA2 if you liked FF3/5/dimensions. It's much more SNES-FF style.
Fun little game - kind of like an "espresso shot" dose of FF5. Liked the creative mechanics of some of the dungeon layouts. You can complete the base game and "story" in about 8 hours, but there is a set of post-game challenges if you need more. If you saw the trailer and remembered that from playing 80s/90s dungeon crawlers, you'll be right at home.
Great sequel to an already great game. While the first game was a combination of Final Fantasy and Wizardry this is kind of the same but with light FF5 job system. It's not as advanced as the one in FF5 as there are simply not as many jobs as in that game but you still get some room to maneuver as you can equip 3 additional learned skills per character in addition to standard attack, item, guard and whatever class signature ability is. Sounds nice but unfortunately you can only have 4 active abilities per character and almost always it's most optimal to put some magic on that last slot because who's gonna waste it on Hide or something. So passive abilities reign supreme and eventually game becomes trivially easy as some combinations are so obviously made for each other and overpowered you can put your combat on auto on all encounters including almost all bosses and still win. Still it takes a while to break the game and it's a solid reward of cracking the system so while would be nice if the system was more advanced it's still pretty good for such a small game. Everything else is as great as it was in the first one if not better so if you liked it playing this one is a must.
great, after playing for 10 hours, completed the game, then only I realise the item sold to shop, can be buyback as much as I want, which means selling 1 panacea can buy 99 back... I was rely on bishop and magic tear all the time.......
