About
Dune: Awakening is an epic Open World Survival Game where you get to fully immerse yourself in one of science fiction’s most iconic worlds.
You have been chosen by the Bene Gesserit to go to Arrakis as their agent and uncover the mystery of the missing Fremen. Visit locations such as Arrakeen and Hagga Basin and meet familiar characters such as Duke Leto Atreides and Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, as you unravel an epic Dune story never told before: yours.
Whether you prefer to play alone or with friends, Dune: Awakening gives you the opportunity to explore a vast, open world Arrakis brimming with secrets to discover, stories to investigate, gadgets to craft, vehicles to assemble, and bases to build. You choose which path to take as you rise from survival to greatness.
Avoid the roaming sandworms. Seek shadows to stay out of the scorching sun. Study the slow blade or learn to master the powers of the Mentat and Bene Gesserit. Build a modest home or a massive base and decorate it to reflect your character’s unique personality. Climb mountains or craft your ornithopter and take to the skies.
Dune: Awakening gives you a living, breathing Dune on a scale never seen before.
Discover a dynamic and immersive Arrakis, from the rolling sand dunes of the Deep Desert to hidden Fremen caves and the bustling city streets of Arrakeen. Climb towering mountains with the Shigawire hook and fly across sandworm-infested deserts in an ornithopter you built yourself. Escape the destructive might of the massive sandstorms towering above you as they sweep across the landscape, then take a quiet moment to witness the beauty of Arrakis when the sun is low.
In Dune: Awakening, you get to step into the books and movies and experience one of science fiction’s most incredible worlds up close. Join the Atreides or the Harkonnen and rise through their ranks as you explore their unique stories. Meet familiar characters such as Duke Leto and Feyd-Rautha, investigate the mysterious disappearance of the Fremen, and discover the truth about your own past. Unravel an epic, cinematic Dune story that asks the mind-bending question: what if Paul Atreides was never born?
Arrakis is a test that few survive. Those who do, awaken. Learn to survive the unique climate of Arrakis, chasing shade and extracting liquid from the bodies of your enemies to refine it into water. Study the teachings of the Schools of the Imperium to unlock a powerful repertoire of abilities, weapons, and tools. Wield the Trooper’s unparalleled firepower, use the Bene Gesserit voice to control your enemies, deploy the Mentat’s deceptive traps, or master the Swordmaster’s unique dance of death.
Carve out your own piece of Arrakis and build your personal base of operations. From small outposts to elaborate and towering strongholds, build everything piece-by-piece in the Atreides or Harkonnen style, or any of the other available architectural styles, and decorate it to reflect your personality. Equip it with powerful crafting machines and spice refineries and watch your power and fortune grow. Craft anything from useful desert-survival gadgets to entire vehicles such as ground cars and ornithopters.
Play alone, with friends, or head into the wider world filled with hundreds of other players and engage in the politics of Arrakis. Host your own server, rent one from a third-party provider, or play on an official server. A full single-player mode will arrive on September 22nd, along with many other additions and improvements.

I've been a PC gamer for a looong time, I've seen great games, horrible games, and a lot of in between. But I've never seen a game where it seems the developers just hate their players as much as Dune Awakening. Its like they are doing everything they can to kill it completely so they don't have to support it anymore. Companies like this don't deserve our time and money.
This game wouldn't work no matter what I did. I couldn't get them game to launch correctly once let alone get past the shaders I tried every trick I could find ppl posting ab and nothing fixed it this game forcing the launch through funcom is stupid to say the least.
de la merde!
Dead Game Walking . Dont bother
I really want to recommend this game, but I can't at the moment. Core issues: 1) Endgame is awful. Time-gated repetitive quests that don't scale in difficulty, and dark-souls-esque dungeons with a combat system that can't respond fast enough for the precise timing needed to not die in a one-shot. Character Skills also do not scale, so 3/4 of the skill tree is unusable. They scale the difficulty in dungeons to actively PUNISH groups -- essentially forcing players to solo for efficiency/feasibility. Skill tree needs a major rebalance (where skills are tied to weapon damage, duh); combat system either needs an animation lock revamp OR even the playing field with enemies (infinite push and unshakable heavies? why can't we do that?) and bosses (they don't get animation locks, why do we?). 2) Grindy. Not in a good way. Everything is time-gated in an extremely spiteful way against the player. Resources are punishing to refine in timescales, the endgame skilltree takes literally 1 whole year to complete -- it honestly feels like Funcom expects you to play this instead of work. 3) Incoherent game design. Okay: this is a game about Dune. Except the sun/heat really is not a problem. Seriously: you can play the whole game without being worried about the heat. The sandworm is not an issue as soon as you can fly, and flying is designed to be essentially and unavoidable - but also does not offer any meaningful gameplay (they nixed the idea of dogfights aside from rockets), and means you are never interacting with environment. Speaking of: they designed a beautiful, rich game space that is made entirely irrelevant after you've tiered-out of an area. Fallout 76 had a similar problem, and remediated it through relative leveling -- not sure Funcom will solve their issue, but I point it out to show that this *is* a problem that has a solution-set. In fact, what is frustrating about Dune: Awakening is that *every problem I have listed has a solution*, but funcom seems uninterested in making the game fun to play. The RPG aspects of the game are vapid; there is no branching storylines or character depth, no choices that matter, so if Funcom chooses not to fix the core gameplay problems, the game is basically dead.
Game has a number of hardware issues, it absolutely hates multi-monitors (at least on an AMD card) with it bouncing from resolution to resolution and window size randomly.
Upkeep costs are too high, its not interesting enough to keep going but you'll still get a good time to value out of it, farming batteries for the base should take half the time it does, my server shut down before my base did, RIP.
