i love speedrunning i love gimmick platformers this is *technically* a really gimmicky platformer, with a huge focus on speedrunning therefore: i love this already just like chessplosion, the atmosphere is very chill and the game feel is really smooth for a somewhat nonstandard concept (buy it on itch io)
This is like if Death Stranding had coherent writing and engaging mechanics With the joke review out of the way, I will emphasise that I'm really enjoying my time with this game so far. Its inviting aesthetic and really straightforward mechanics belies a surprisingly deep and at times difficult game, especially if you try getting higher scores for a 100% completion (which I'm nowhere near achieving at the moment, though I have beaten the game). In particular, the soundtrack is really great. It's never really intense, with jazzy instrumentation (bass guitar, drums, piano, etc), but still has the drive of something you might hear in an old arcade racer. A really pleasant surprise that I didn't expect going into this game. The mechanics, again, are pretty simple - you press a button to activate your propeller, which will lift you upwards. Pressing left or right angles that lift slightly to the corresponding side. Land next to a duck with a package and you pick it up, touch the intended postbox to deliver it, making sure to avoid obstacles which can damage your package and reduce the points you get for a delivery. With just these mechanics, the game is already quite engaging, as the more you get used to it the more you're inclined to go for faster and risker routes, threading the needle between seagulls and cave walls to try to get the best time for your delivery. But on top of the movement mechanics, you can also "throw" your packages. This is initially a bit confusing, because it's more of a release - the package leaves Ducky with only the momentum you had at the moment you pressed the button (think of dropping a bomb from a plane). Doing so, however, nets you a multiplier on your delivery based on the distance of your throw, and this is where the game gets really compelling. To get higher ranks on levels you need to start throwing your packages from a distance, which means you need to be going quickly, which is a challenge as described earlier. Once you've perfected it, however, you can experience the satisfaction of sinking a package from 10 metres away, touching down next to a duck to snatch a package from their hands and immediately taking off with the momentum you already have. It's oddly reminiscent of Tribes, the jetpack shooter, of all things. In summary, if you're a fan of vector addition, Crazy Taxi, that old-ass Helicopter flash game, or basketball, you should play Ducky's Delivery Service. P.S. I only JUST NOW got that the title of the game is a reference to Kiki's Delivery Service
Fun gameplay, adorable art, groovy soundtrack, and a dedicated "quack" button!! Ducky's Delivery Service delivers on all fronts :-) This game is the complete package :-)
This game taught me some real empathy for my delivery drivers. It turns out hitting the mail box from 10 meters out is a real challenge!! I'll make sure I'm more forgiving of the banged up boxes I receive from here on out. real talk: It's fun! It's one of those games where the controls are intentionally a bit derpy, but not so bad that they become unpredictable. With a little practice soaring through the levels and chucking packages into delivery boxes becomes quite engaging and gives a good little serotonin hit when you do it well ;). Soundtrack and graphics are very warm, cute and inviting. If you like the play style, I think it's a good game to relax with. Def would recommend :D
i love this funny little duck
Fun duck-based speed running game! The controls are surprisingly deep and you can use your inertia to do trickshots with customers packages - whether they like it or not! BGM is a bop, too.
Ella lo jugaba.... y me lo compre para poder recordarla...
Relaxing and exacting at the same time. Simple jetpack controls and some cheekily-inheritance-based parcel throwing lets you toss, chuck, shoot and dunk your way through a nice assortment of stages. It's Balloon Fight, it's Crazy Taxi, it's also Kuru Kuru Kururin and a 2D Tribes game. But more than anything else, it's a refreshing, breezy summer game.
A cute little arcade game! Works well on Steam Deck too. Just make sure to enable "preserve aspect ratio" or the game will be stretched. The art is adorable and the music is fantastic. The controls are simple but the movement takes some getting used to. This seems intentional, though. It's a very physics heavy game in a way that obviously rewards players for putting in the time to understand them at a deep level. I have some quibbles with the default progression locking you out of later levels unless you mostly get 2/3 stars on previous levels, but I've enjoyed all the levels I've played so far. It would be great if there was an update to put the delivery marker above the level timer, or make the level timer switch sides to avoid overlapping, because this confused me a couple times. As for the difficulty, I think there's settings I could use to make it through the game easier, but I haven't messed with those yet.
В целом, для любителей Нинтендо игр зайдет. Но игра однообразная и скучная, возможно - слишком простая для такого ценника.. Ждал чего-то большего, чем просто леталка
