What a sweet little hidden object game 🧡 In this one, you find two items and combine them, which makes it feel a bit more fun than the usual “just find stuff” gameplay. The graphics are super cute and colorful, and everything just feels cozy. There is hint system, and the best part is, you can use it without worrying about ruining anything, no penalties, no missed achievements, no stress. (so for all achievement hunters, this is also an easy perfect game) A perfect little game to unwind with for an hour or two. Think morning coffee/tea vibes! or a calm late-night wind-down before bed. 🌙✨
It's a Hidden Object game with cute graphics and a little twist that the name hints at. The objects you need to find are split in two parts. This is often done so cleverly that it's quite a challenge to find them, though the hint function makes it easy if you want to give up. I found it weird at first, then weirdly fun. I'm still not really a HOG person, and I got a bit tired of finding war toys and stuff like that (in 2 out of the 3 chapters I've played). Not the kind of vibes I feel like, especially with how tense things are irl these days. It obviously doesn't seem like a big part of the game though. If HOGs are your kind of thing then you could probably do worse (: * * * If you like chill and story-driven games, check out my curator Peaceful Adventures and Stories. What a lovely "Where is waldo?" kinda type of game. You have to find the 2 parts of an item on the map, combine them, and get the check on the item. For completion you need to find all 18 items in the 9 different levels. Takes around 2 hours to complete. It isn't a genre I would play all the time, but from time to time, in between bigger games, it is great. And while some of them can feel a bit stale by now, Dual Discovery: Unite Challenge does something a little different by having to find two items of an object. And I also love that it doesn't overstay it's welcome, but is just short and a lot of fun. For the achievements, you have to find all 18 items on 9 levels. There is an in-game hint system with a short timer to not spam it all the time. This can be used and still be able to get all the achievements. I give Dual Discovery: Unite Challenge 4 out of 5 stars. Gotta find em and combine em. Story: The game has no story mode to talk about. Graphics: Dual Discovery is honestly a very pleasing game to look at. It's bright and colorful and the picture book design of the environments is just great. However there is one minor drawback in this department and that comes with the fact that sometimes the items are borderline impossible to find, but I'll cover this more in the gameplay section. Audio: There's not much to talk about in the audio department, except for the music as that's the only thing you'll be listening to and mostly it's fine. It's catchy and relaxing tunes and honestly they don't get grading when you're listening to them so that's a big plus, especially if you get stuck on a level. However one problem is that there's frequent audio crackles like a static sound kicking in from time to time, which does get pretty grating. Gameplay: Dual Discovery Unite Challenge is a simple hidden object game. You have a list of items you need to find at the bottom of the screen and then you'll look around the map to find those said items, however there's also a new included mechanic where you have to find two items and combine them to look like the item you need. I'll begin by saying that the game works well and it's fun for the most part. It's a nice casual and a very relaxing experience and the combine mechanic works well enough and brings in a nice puzzle element to figure things out, however it's also a big problem on the maps where there's a bunch of items. Quite a bunch of items are so small, even when the hint system points them out you'll be confused at what you're looking at and when you have to find a different item to combine the two items it becomes quite annoying. There's also an extra issue with the fact that there's tons of items that look identical with basically no distinction between them, which makes the combination mechanic even more annoying. Verdict: While the combination mechanic is for sure unique and mostly fun, it feels like it drags what could be a pretty good hidden object game, but it doesn't make it bad by any means and I have no trouble recommending this for fans of the genre as this is pretty fun. Final Rating: 7/10 Pros: + Pretty storybook art + Relaxing experience + Fun gameplay Cons: - Combination mechanic is kind of lackluster - The soundtrack has audio popping which gets annoying NOTE: I was provided a review key from the developer/publisher for review purposes on the behalf of the group Completing the Backlog. This did not impact my opinion on the game. I like the premise of the game, as it does bring something new to the hidden object genre. But man, it is tedious. Finding extremely minute objects in a scene and then having to combine them with other similarly small or otherwise hidden objects takes away from the fun. Good idea, not great execution. Have to give it a thumbs down.
Delightful, low-pressure hidden object game that doesn’t stand out, but it will still keep you busy for a couple of fun hours. At first glance, this game follows the familiar formula of a classic hidden object experience: you’re presented with a beautifully illustrated scene—often depicting a warm, everyday moment—and your task is to find a list of items tucked away within the environment. With nine different stages, the game offers roughly an hour of relaxed gameplay. Stages are static, and there’s barely any animation or interactivity. The game has a twist: instead of simply finding whole objects, you must locate two separate fragments of each item. Clicking on one half makes it "active" on your cursor, and you must then find and click on its matching counterpart to officially collect it. This mechanic encourages a keener eye and a bit more strategic thinking, as objects are often cleverly disguised or blended into the scenery. Despite this added complexity, the game maintains a casual, stress-free atmosphere. There are no penalties for misclicks, no ticking clock to rush you, and you don’t even need to find every single item to progress to the next stage. Plus, if you ever get stuck, a generous hint system comes to the rescue. Activating a hint highlights two areas where matching fragments can be found, and while it has a short cooldown, you can use it as many times as needed.
Below the screen is a list of objects/figures that we have to put together. Each consists of two parts that we have to find and join in the picture. The proportions of the individual pieces are displayed differently. I like simple games like this, where you can search for something in a relaxed manner. Here, however, some of the objects to be searched for are so small that finding them is no longer fun for me, but rather a lot of work. Therefore, I can't recommend this game (which is a shame; I really liked the developer's other three games).
different type of HOG. its more of a puzzle. each item has 2 parts and you have to find one part and bring it to the second part. its different and fun on its own. it is short. would have done it under 2 hours but i got distracted by other things. still worth the price
