Let's just say that I respect the game's concept far more than its execution. Not to say that the latter is downright horrid, but it's not quite what I'd call impressive either. Still, Drox Operative 2 is a decent effort, one that I don't see the need to lambast. If nothing else, I rather liked the way the game world is simulated, and that counts for something.
Go for it, if you want to play a 2000th game. Not for me in 2026 though, not for me. Feels more like someones graduation project, rather than a real game, sold on Steam.
Very Old School. You need to use VPN for online coop. Gameplay is very versatile, you can stop and think hours for most diplomatic solution for every species or you can just turn your brain off and go for murder spree, either way you will get rewarded even if you lose the sector. You get to keep your ship and switch worlds, create your own difficulty, randomize it. I already spent two days just thinking how to build my ship to my liking.
Its a sleeper hit from the diablo space genre...
It seems really rough, and depending on your settings for starting out the game can be EXTREMELY FAST PACE in a sort of whiplash kind of way. It's addicting though, really love this game. Kinda' surprised it hasn't gone on sale for less than 10 bux ever so if you see it at that price you should def grab it.
This game rocks.
Kinda like diablo in space. its repetitive and grindy at times, but most diablo-like arpgs are. Various weapons, builds, gear, and ways to win involving various species does give you quite a bit to work towards. Customizable world generation let's you pick how big or small of a sector you'll have to work with. All in all it scratches that diablo-like itch, but scifi.
Very fun game, based entirely around space combat. Yeah there's a background game going on where you decide which aliens you want to live and which need to die for your "victory" but the core of the game is playing around with different space ship components and having fun deciding which is the best at destroying other space ships.
Yeah it says 3 hours, but I've played this more on other platforms. If you're going to play one game from Soldak Entertainment, pick this one. I view this as the peak of their creativity with the type of game they're known for, and I wish they went forward with this space concept to another title. This is pretty much Drox Operative 2.0 more than a sequel, but the refinements are good to the point that you really shouldn't bother with the first game at all.
