I indeed, did drive to hell. Good jump scares, good voiceover, good game
If I had a nickel for every game I've played that was an allegory for drunk driving, I'd have 10 cents. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice in like a month. DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE, KIDS AND SEAT BELTS SAVE LIVES! SO BUCKLE UP!
worth every penny
For how short it is, it truly delivered. Not only is the environment, together with the atmosphere, fantastic, but the game's also actually fun to play, with some cool mechanics as well (if you didn't, try the checkpoint button later in the game). The story's quick, a bit weird, but still gripping. And there are also one or two nice spooks, with a goof too.
I liked the driving being a little finicky, I don't remember having smooth precise controls in any early PS1 driving game or behind the wheel of my 2016 Honda Civic after a few Buzzballs. (Buzzballs: It's shaped like a ball, what's the worst that could happen?) For a 30-minute game, the story is short, sweet, and does what it sets out to do, and I'm satisfied with that. From what I understand, this is just one person's project. Getting anything to a final stage is impressive enough when it's just One Person, let alone a final stage that is fun to play. And it is! Although I think after my third attempt through the first chase, the monster gave up trying to jump on the vehicle and politely allowed me to pass, at one point even hovering behind me while I put it in reverse. I'd like to think it recognized true signs of chronic impairment and made the executive decision to permit me to see the ending of the game. I will admit, I had a change of heart and decided to Doordash dinner instead of hitting the road with a body full of Buzzballs. (Buzzballs: Too colorful to be dangerous!)
Fun little game
This game was pretty good. I really like short games. With inflation and prices slapped on your typical DLC for [insert game here], the asking price is pretty good; there are certainly other things other folks have spent more on for a lot less of an experience. Most definitely go in blind, recommend to a friend or even let your friends play on your computer or something - it's best to go in blind. I caught a glimpse of it from a YT short and thought this was cool. The description is accurate, it's nice to have an honest description; even the title is pretty straight forward so you know what you are getting yourself into. I even have my own head canon story about the protagonist which I will not spoil here but I think it make sense. All I will say is: please do not drink and drive. I believe this game was made by one person...? If so, this is awesome man! It's kind of inspiring me to look into game development, but I don't know have any coding ability and don't know where to start. Question for the developer: as a play tester, how did mom like it? [Not a 'your mom' joke, she was listed in the credits.] Anyway, everyone else should check it out!
