One of the best games I have recently played, 100%'d out of sheer amusement of how well made it is. Highly recommend complete edition to include the DLCs, both were good fun, especially the Iron Rig.

I can recommend Dredge to a degree. For the first five or six hours, it was highly compelling. Genuinely fear inducing, good music, tight economic loop, good gameplay. Upgrading your ship felt rewarding. But eventually, it gets quite dull. The other areas don’t have nearly the same vibe as the first island and have nowhere near the fear factor. The characters on those aren’t nearly as interesting or relatable. The fishing remained enjoyable, but eventually you crack the code and are rolling in dough. You can buy tech points, so leveling becomes easy and grindy rather than enjoyably difficult. Still, I really enjoyed most of my time, and I think you will too. It was cozy and enjoyable, and that’s worth a rec. But when you get to the point where you’re feeling like you’ve overfished this game, I recommend closing it out rather than belaboring your stay on the water.

Dredge was recommended to me by a friend because he said that this was one of the best games he had ever played. You know what? He was right. I'm incredibly surprised by how much I liked this one, and even more surprised that did a 100% run for it. While Dredge can be very repetitive sometimes, and believe me, going for all of the fish and their cursed forms was rough at times, I was a fun time from start to finish. The game has incredible progression, atmosphere, and if you look into it, even a pretty interesting underlying story. I'd also have to strongly recommend the DLCs as well, especially if you liked the main game. While The Pale Reach is much shorter, I liked the atmosphere and the change of environment. The Iron Rig has far more main game bonuses for getting it, including another full upgrade to your ship. The only issue I had with the Iron Rig is that it ends pretty unceremoniously and the oil spills themselves are pretty annoying at times. Overall, Dredge is a great game, and I am very surprised by how enthralling it was. Perhaps that is on par with the themes of it. I'd certainly recommend that game to anyone, it is worth the cost.
