About
Dreamspring is a dark fantasy styled, open world, souls-like, dungeon crawler game. As a spellsword gunslinger, you'll explore ethereal landscapes shrouded in twilight, battle fearsome creatures, and uncover ancient secrets. Explore the dying Kingdom of Mortis and its different realms in first person action combat, in a world mixed with retro and vaporwave aesthetics.
With inspiration from Morrowind and King's Field, Dreamspring aims to be an open world dungeon crawler similar to those games, but it still offers a unique take on the genre. The setting takes place in a distant doomed future, plagued by a mysterious legend, the Dreamsprings. Combat is a less punishing type of Souls-like game. Questing aims to be similar to the early Scrolls games.
The Kingdom of Mortis, a realm in ruins, looms beneath a twilight sky. The once strong empire has become barren and desolate and the few remaining people are haunted by nightmares and despair. Only the Holy City floating above is the last remnant of civilization, ruled by a religious army. Tormented by dreams of an unwanted visitor, one solitary figure dares to venture into the heart of the dying world in an attempt to uncover its secrets and restore balance to the realm, a desperate attempt to save the waking world from certain doom.

Great game, love the exporation and gameplay. Would recommend!
An awesome game, a great passion project. A love letter to the Kings Field games.
Very early on, but wanted to post a positive review because I know how much it means for small games like this! Amazing world and systems, highly recommend for anyone who likes kings field or elder scrolls, or who has enjoyed similar games like Dread Delusion or Lunacid. Feels exactly like a game that would have released in the PS2 era, in the best possible way!
i've only scratched the surface but i'm hooked. the aesthetic is peak, the music so ethereal and dreamlike, LOVE the level design. very very good 👍 Edit: after finishing the early access content I can write a little bit more detail. There is a lot of jank, a good amount of what feels like placeholder assets, and definitely some polish needed (the hitboxes are atrocious), however I still stand by what I said after the first 30 minutes. Despite being rough around the edges I find it incredibly compelling. The game has a lot of soul, some really incredible level design, and the creators really nailed the "weird alien dreamworld" visual aesthetic. I agree with one of the other reviews comparing it to Dread Delusion, but I'd also like to offer EYE: Divine Cybermancy as a point of comparison. Really incredible, and I'll be revisiting after early access.
This game is just too good. For a person in need to search and play something that looks like king's field and would like to fell an haunting atmosphere like old rpgs, vhs stylish wave, years 80's or a Vermis like game, this is waht you need. The way the game embrace you with its atmosphere is just amazing: the music, the style, the artwork, the ps1 design low poly, ALL THE SURPRISES i have found within the exploration, i've been gifted every time i tried to do something "illegal" in the game, secrets, weapons, finding, lore. I love it, i hope this game will be supported as it deserves, gg dev, gg. UPDATE: I think there are some things that need to change: balancing the angel enemy in the citadel, not the boss but the mobs, they can do heavy damage and they are "bugged" since when they throw themselves to you they clip in the ground. Sometime when you die you lose all your exp, no matter what. Fps are strangly low 23/27 in the Citadel, but overall in the game with 40/45 with a good computer that runs heavier games properly. I also think that the player should be better rewarded in some cases and not find only 50 bullets ahahah. That's what i think it's the most important to change :)
I for one love this game, considering it's using the Unity Engine. The only gripe i have is the running which makes you lurch forward, kinda strange. Would recommend this early access game for sure it's awesome. :)

First impressions are positive. Will leave a more detailed review once I've played much more.
