About
Dreamspring is a dark fantasy styled, open world, dungeon crawler game. As a spellsword gunslinger, you'll explore ethereal landscapes shrouded in twilight, battle fearsome creatures, and uncover ancient secrets. Explore the dying Kingdom of Mortis and its different realms in first person action combat, in a world mixed with retro and vaporwave aesthetics.
The setting takes place in a distant doomed future, plagued by a mysterious legend, the Dreamsprings. Much inspiration was taken from games like Morrowind and King’s Field. From the very beginning of the game, you can go nearly anywhere on the world map. Though the main quest will provide guidance and open up certain areas.
There are multiple endings, and certain choices throughout the game will matter.
The Kingdom of Mortis, a realm in ruins, looms beneath a twilight sky. The once strong empire has become barren and desolate and the few remaining people are haunted by nightmares and despair. Only the Holy City floating above is the last remnant of civilization, ruled by a religious army. Tormented by dreams of an unwanted visitor, one solitary figure dares to venture into the heart of the dying world in an attempt to uncover its secrets and restore balance to the realm, a desperate attempt to save the waking world from certain doom.

Absolutely having a blast with this game. If you like Kingsfield, Lunacid, Dread Delusion or Verho this game is a MUST play. Loads to do, lot's of cool areas to explore, music is fantastic and the open world encourages you take your time to explore everywhere. Dev is actively working to get to full release and a huge update happened a day ago. Check it out, worth the time for anyone.
Great game! You can build your character the way you like, focusing on melee, guns, magic or a bit of everything! Each stat influences multiple things so for example something like dexterity that's primarily used for gun damage also influences your jump height... And if at any point you feel like you "messed up" the stat distribution, at some point you unlock the ability to respec so you can rest easy! Dev is great, listens to the community and fixes bugs in a flash... Can't recommend enough, eagerly awaiting the full release!

Really awesome game that has a ton of potential to get even better
Has Morrowind energy. Y'know... Morrowind? The last actual fantasy game made? That one.
This game truly is unique, and it's world feels like something out of a fever dream, in a very good way. This game really made me feel a sense of wonder I haven't felt in a good while and I'd recommend it for anyone who is willing to look over the gameplay jank (Truth be told the jank reinforces the weird world this game takes place in, for me) I'll really be looking forward to future updates
I wanted to play something new — something wonderful and mysterious — and Dreamspring delivered. It’s a dreamlike exploration of nostalgia, memory, and quiet awe. Think a guided meditation wrapped in pixel art with revolvers, swords and magic and fast paced combat. The world invites curiosity — no handholding, just surreal spaces that feel meaningful. I found an Easter egg at the top of a mountain I wasn’t even sure I could climb — and when I did, it genuinely felt like the game was rewarding me for wondering “what if?” There's so much to explore and so much going to do that every time you turn around you find something new you want to do. It's full of adventure and packed full of unexpected anomalies. The music? Perfect. The visual style? Comforting and strange in the best way. It’s cozy, but it also lingers in your mind like something you half-remember from childhood. I expected a little escape. Dreamspring gave me everything I didn't know I needed.
i've only scratched the surface but i'm hooked. the aesthetic is peak, the music so ethereal and dreamlike, LOVE the level design. very very good 👍 Edit: after finishing the early access content I can write a little bit more detail. There is a lot of jank, a good amount of what feels like placeholder assets, and definitely some polish needed (the hitboxes are atrocious), however I still stand by what I said after the first 30 minutes. Despite being rough around the edges I find it incredibly compelling. The game has a lot of soul, some really incredible level design, and the creators really nailed the "weird alien dreamworld" visual aesthetic. I agree with one of the other reviews comparing it to Dread Delusion, but I'd also like to offer EYE: Divine Cybermancy as a point of comparison. Really incredible, and I'll be revisiting after early access.
Runs very poorly. I have an older system but I can run a lot of newer games well. Wait for later build
Great game if you are into hack and slash style games
