Murdered the old man as he was expositioning at me and got an upgrade for it. 10/10
This is a fun and unique combination of Dragon Quest and FTL.
Really satisfies my craving for a solo character turn based rpg. Just enough class options and events to keep each run fresh while leading to lots of experimenting.
Dream Warrior is a really solid retro roguelike-esque RPG with a lot of charm to the setting and characters. Each run is fairly short but with several classes to unlock and try as well as several endings, there is a lot of fun to be had along the way. You start with only two classes available but you quickly start finding more, and the method for unlocking classes is quite good. It definitely feels rewarding to explore and try new things. The game nails a nostalgic feel and has a lot more depth to it than you might initially expect. My only word of advice is check the shops for new equipment often, as the enemies can scale quickly and prove quite challenging if you don't adequately prepare. Definitely a strong recommend from me.
This game is a cross between Faster than light (FTL) event selection and old school text rpg. Similar to FTL, as you progress, you select the node you would like to proceed to. Actions in battles are not rock paper scissors, but can utilize actual strategy for handling the enemies (ie you are better off selecting certain actions for enemies that deal physical damage vs magic). There is a good amount of replayability since you can unlock new classes with achievements. I enjoyed the game quite a bit! As for gameplay tips: There is a legend in the upper left to let you know what the icons indicate for each node. Additionally the save button is also in the upper right in the form of a down arrow. When you want to look at an item in the shop, mouseover the item in the text paragraph above the item selection menu.
I received a key to play this for YouTube. This was fun! It's a very enjoyable roguelike with some fun classes and good writing. A quicksave feature too, if permadeath stresses you out a bit. It's a laid-back experience and one I recommend a lot. Some pretty unique sources of inspiration too!
Good little rogue-like turn-based game with great monster art and a classic look.
A fun rogue-like with some unlockable characters. If you like classic RPGS or rogue-likes, this is a fun little game. Pretty humorous and enjoyable. A fun trip down memory lane for sure.
A very fun retro RPG that takes players back to the earliest days of gaming. If you are fan of more fleshed out text adventures with delightful visuals, then this is the experience for you! This game is fun and allows for maximum replay value as the quests are relatively short in nature and each playthrough allows the player to chose a different class with set abilities and strengths. Please give this game a play!
