This shall be a rant because I am bitter. A: The story has no tonal centre. It feels like it's trying to be lighthearted, dark, and horny all at the same time and not in a way where it's simply a story with dark themes and moments of levity. It feels like it's trying to do too much and be too much for the scope. Especially after so many delays, I am utterly disappointed in this story. The player can get locked out of a good ending on the very first day without even realising it. This happened to me on my playthrough and I could not muster up the patience to play through everything again. The characters also lack a good degree of depth, despite the darker tone that's assumed. You'd think with the threat of being stranded on an island forever that these characters would have **some** thoughts about their friends, family and such. The story ends up falling completely flat which is a complete disappointment after Roman's Christmas. I know this team can make good work but this game feels completely rushed out the door despite being delayed multiple times. B: What kind of visual novel **lags**? This is a genuine question, how on Earth is the performance so terrible. There's also no fast-forward button for dialogue, which is especially egregious. There were certain minigames I struggled to play because the game was lagging. C: Sure, it's a game with erotic content and innuendos. But that doesn't matter. You can have a story which involves adult content and still has depth and intrigue, which is obviously what the team was going for. I don't know what happened behind the scenes but this game gives me the impression of several issues in development. It either needed way more time, or a complete overhaul.
I bought because they tag nudity and nsfw at first but they lie.
Before you buy this game, be aware that it's not a dating simulation but a detective game. If you buy it for the plot: The game attempts to balance dark themes with lighthearted jokes, but this mix undermines both aspects. The premise involves being kidnapped on a booby-trapped island where people can die multiple times, get drugged, and are recorded for the kidnapper's perverse entertainment. The game is NOT traumatizing at all as most dark themes are just glossed over and not even acknowledged for how messed up they are.
The antagonist's motivation comes from a series of misunderstandings and bad luck, which he EVEN acknowledges. One character is kidnapped simply because they wanted a threesome, but the guy bailed on them, meaning they didn't actually do anything wrong. Why not kidnap the other character? Add it to the plot holes. Despite the multiple endings, the kidnapper never faces any consequences for his deadly game. In the supposed true ending, you inexplicably become friends with him.
Additionally, there are many plot holes in the story, even if we exclude the secret ending. If you buy it for the """plot""": You can't date the characters. Despite the developers' mature content description, the game features 4-5 brief 18+ scenes that are interrupted early and only last a few sentences, with no genitals shown.
Just seriously disappointed in this game. The so called patch, a separate "game" that loads images. It's a glorified gallery. Not much romance either. Wasted potential.
Overall ★★★☆☆

Graphics ★★★★★
The game has some amazing artwork. The characters feel warm and relatable, if you’re here for the eye candy then you won’t be disappointed. There are also several fully drawn scenes featured during key moments of the story. The backgrounds set the scene perfectly and the UI is exactly what I want from a visual novel.
Gameplay ★★★☆☆
There’s very little gameplay other than what you would expect from a Visual novel. All the key features like skip/rewind/save exist. However besides choosing where to walk to, or selecting a few a response / when to question someone, there’s not much to do besides two very minimal minigames. I would have liked to have seen an inventory system, or for the phone to play a bigger role, or even a way to increase your bond with certain characters. If you’re here for just an interactive story, the gameplay is fine, but it doesn’t go above or beyond what is expected of a visual novel.
Music & Audio ★★★★☆
The music is exactly what it needs to be. Each character theme sets the tone of the NPC and helps bring out their personality. During the emotional & tense scenes the music helped set the stage and really sucked me in. The sound effects are a little plain but in no way bad. They’re used sparingly to highlight a particular sentence or help set the mood.
Story ★★☆☆☆
When it comes to a visual novel, the one thing it has to do well is the story, and sadly this one doesn’t stand out. The novel doesn’t take itself seriously at any point, calling out and drawing attention to the cliché and forced plot. There’s an overarching mystery that you’re tasked with solving, and serious stakes for failing. That being said it’s very predictable and it feels like you’re just going through the motions rather than living the story. There are multiple endings, the one I first got left me satisfied and happy, however some of the other endings made me question its canonicity and opened up several plot holes. Finally, while the localisation expert worked really hard on making an English release, there’s far too many grammatical errors and spelling mistakes to let the story suck you in. Fixing these would be enough for me to change my review to positive. The Good : Amazing artwork with a variety of characters to appeal to any preference and great music that really sets the scene. The Bad : Rather shallow story that was sadly spoiled by finding one of the hidden endings too early. The Ugly : English release has far too many grammatical errors and spelling mistakes. Not only that but several bugs (As of time of writing you can’t even unlock one of the achievements).

Translation errors, Weird story progression, Performance issues. This is the best example of a Vertical Slice, but not the game. The lack of polish is astounding. I really hope the devs at least paid the art team for their work, because the character designs are its only strong point.
