About
Dragon Hop is a challenging 3D precision platformer collectathon. Play as a dragon hatchling who got left behind in a strange world. Collect tokens to unlock abilities and appearances. Get stronger, climb higher and find clues that can give an explanation to the world around you. Try not to fall!
Are you ready to prove yourself? Well, start climbing!
Dragon Hop is all about getting as high as you can get, to see all this world has to offer. Naturally, slipping, falling, and trying again plays a big part in that. Your journey will be hard, but there are ways for the keen-eyed and curious to make it easier.
If you like exploring, in Dragon Hop you shall be greatly rewarded, as there are plenty of treasures scattered around the world, waiting for you to find them! Found a hidden door? There's likely a golden chest waiting on the other side. See a cave entrance? Time for spelunking! Who knows what kind of crystals may lie beneath the earth?
Are your pockets full of treasures? Well, it's time to use them! Speak with your dragon guide to exchange crystals and learn new skills for your dragon. Gliding? No problem! Spitting fireballs? Bring on the heat! Flying? If you just believe, there shall be nothing stopping you from touching the sky!
Your path shall not be easy. Sometimes a well-calculated jump will not be enough: you may have to dodge some nasty traps too! Be sure to keep on your feet in those moments, otherwise you could face a few setbacks.
Some obstacles can move indeed, but some are straight up sentient! Watch out for these creatures. They are here to make your journey more difficult. Will you try to outsmart them or give them a taste of fiery heat? Up to you!
Having a hard time hopping? See if you can use your environment to your advantage. From riding animals, to activating forgotten constructs - sailing boats to opening portals, never shy away from some exploring. Curiosity kills cats, not dragons!
Why are you here? What happened? What’s the point to any of this? These are great questions. Perhaps the answers don’t even matter, we could just be here for fun. But maybe…, just maybe there is more to this chaotic world than meets the eye. Let’s see if you can unravel the mystery…
Not a fan of hardcore platforming? Try Exploration mode! Dragon Hop aims to bridge the gap between those who like to suffer a bit and those who are just looking for a cosy ride.
In Exploration mode you can look for Feathers to unlock checkpoints with, and save your progress. It’s good for some practice too!
However, should you choose Hardcore mode, you shall be rewarded with special appearances and additional achievements for your efforts.

You play as a cute little dragon. What else would you want? The gameplay feels smooth, game is very versatile and I love the little secrets if you just risk it for the biscuit. Rewarding when you do well and punishing if you panic. Highly recommend.
Kickstarter backer here: So far the game looks and runs great on Steam Deck. So far I just had to select the keyboard template and we're in business. The game is beautiful. I've not made it to far yet, just the 100m mark, but I am looking forward to the challenge ahead.
"Only Up" is usually a genre of ugly-looking meme games, but this one is entirely different due to its presentation and its creativity. There is a staggering amount of worlds and zones in this unexpectedly long game, each with their own distinct personality, and the ones you see in the trailer barely scratch the surface. At (almost) ever corner the game surpises you with something new; a new type of challenge, a twist in the gameplay, a puzzle to solve, or a secret to discover – all the while as the gentle music stays calm and hummable. Also, yes, the animations of the dragon kid you're playing are seriously adorable and cute. If you enjoy platformers from around the Y2k era, you should have a fun and relaxing time with this one.
[strike]I just can't play this game on controller whatsoever the ui is unresponsive despite the patch to fix the issues with it one of the options about customs kills audio in game completely, it's just so annoying cause you can't even adjust the sensitivity of controller etc. without things falling apart. I'm sure the game itself is swell but so far it's accessibility and things like main menu buttons not working is biggest obstacle to enjoyment if you wanna play on controller just press start and thats it, dont even touch menu buttons or else you will get locked out of everything edit: or don't cause launching game with my controller active and just going straight into game trapped me in a loading screen image not going away..[/strike]
Hop on Dragon Hop
Neat climbing game (the likes of only up and alike) where you can spend 1 hour climbing one area and one clumsy slide or jump and you'd work your way back up.. well that'd be the case but this game has more casual difficulty with checkpoints which is great QoL thing to actually see more beyond the starting point. The music is neat, the character reminds me of spyro the way it moves and feels, although a bit clunky it's manageable. Visually the first area looks really nice and fitting, but over time you will see variety of different graphic design and possibly hyper realistic boulder next to a cartoony pot etc. As you progres you find more motes that you can exchange for power ups or cosmetic changes like skins for the dragon. It's quite tough either on m&kb or controller. Thankfully developer is improving the game really fast with the bug fixes and other small improvements and changes to spice the game up.
It's a cute game for sure. Needs some performance improvements. The game is a little jittery, and collisions with objects tends to bounce you around a little before the game registers that you've hit a ledge that you can grab. Makes for some really unnecessarily scary jumps. Camera needs some work, too; often, in enclosed spaces, terrain and other objects get in the way and you can't see. Overall I like this. Not as horribly rage-inducing (yet) as I'd figured, and the dragons are adorable. Game has potential, especially if more customization is added.
Found this on X last night. Has a Spyro-esque feel to it, I like the save/recovery system to regain height you've lost when things go bad.
As of now, I’ve only made it to around 800m, so keep that in mind. I think this game has promise. Pros: - The game has an actual theme instead of just random assets floating in the sky - It has some lore in it, along with secrets - The movement and jumping mechanics feel great - Huge plus for including save spots - Has BGM Mixed: - The grapple and pull-up mechanic is great, but sometimes it gave me a heart attack (like getting pulled up from the middle of an asset) - I don’t know what the collectibles are for yet (maybe I missed a tutorial, or it gets explained later) Cons: - Sometimes the game freezes a little when transitioning between zones/stages - Not a fan of the combat (if it even counts as combat). I managed to kill zero bomb enemies, so I just avoided them instead (skill issue?) Overall, I can recommend it.
Very fun game, I love the design and the customization options for the dragon. The hatchling is super cute! It also runs on my old PC. Very entertaining, would recommend 10/10.
